Oh I am sick of this decorating. The Living room is finished thank God. My room is prepped and cut in. I hope we get it done tomorrow. We have just about run out of emulsion pain will have to get some more tomorrow. I thought 12 litres would be enough. I guess it is because the two longest walls have needed 4 coats each.
I wish I could find some elves to finish it all over Christmas.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year GQ and anyone else who is going away tomorrow.0 -
Happy Christmas to those who wont be on MSE over the holiday! I probably will be, as I am not fan of TV and especially of 'Christmas specials'! Once all the kids and grandkids have gone home - what else is there to do? nobody buys me 'toys' to play with! lol, that was part of the fun of Christmas - OH and I used to play with the kids toys when they had gone to bed!
nice work nursemaggie! at least the DIY store should be fairly calm!
I am sorry people - I cant post pics as I ended up doing a NINE hour shift of childminding instead of the usual five! DIL said she wanted to do an hour or so of wrapping pressies while the kids were up mine. ok - but I did tell her I needed to go out when OH got in from work. a bit peed off actually, as Grandson phoned her twice and she said oh about another half hour...............and she didn't even answer the phone when I rang after OH came in. then swanned in half hour later. when I reminded her that I had told her I needed to go out, she said 'oh, I forgot'! no apology! arrrrgh - I am sure the kids think we need to do NOTHING to organise Christmas dinner for 14! oh sorry - that turned into a 'rant'! I feel better for it though!0 -
Oh nursemaggie it's been a long road but you're nearly there. I hope that your room won't take 4 coats and that you can finish up early, pop your feet up and look forward to relaxing in your nice new space.
Drat meritaten I don't like feelings of being put upon so feel for you but at least you let it all out. I hope you managed to get out in the end.
The wind is just awful here. 2am was the peak really. I could hear the loft space creaking and cracking.
What it has meant is that I have begun my gingerbread cheesecake for Christmas day dessert. I only needed 2 tubs of cream cheese and some ginger snaps so really it has been a very frugal option. The rest I have in and going to adorn with a handful of gingerbread star biscuit I made a few days back. I have enjoyed my chill out early time complete with quiet festive music.0 -
Fuddle, gingerbread cheesecake? Yes please.Would you share the recipe?
Was all set to make Lyn's gingerbread yesterday and found I had no syrup though I remembered buying some last week.Doh,I do my Mother's shopping and it was on her list!I will try and make it today to save for New Year.Went to the shops and also bought next years Christmas cards at 1/2 price.
Am hanging about waiting to hear myself on the radio, reading the Christmas story.
A very Merry Christmas to everybody, hoping you have a peaceful time.

Well I put together a 'foodie' hamper for my niece, with homemade cookies and fudge. I think I may do more of these next for the rest of my family. A very frugal Christmas!:T

I hope you all had a really great Christmas - mine was great at times. others, well lets just say its the first Christmas since mum died - and I am sure you all understand.
my homemade hampers were well received, I had some lovely gifts in return!
a good day really - I tried to create some new 'traditions' to replace those that cant be replicated - and I think it worked. everyone seemed happy.
oh and Christmas lunch for 15 (if you count the baby who had a baby beef dinner from the freezer an hour before everyone else ate), it was a success!
BUT, thank the goddesses it is only ONCE a year!0 -
