I will call British Parking Association and ask them whether the car parking company should allow more cars than they could contain.
The BPA won't do anything, the only thing they could do, if the car park is in the Park Mark scheme is potentially review their certificate.

    Before moving off you should
    • use all mirrors to check the road is clear
    • look round to check the blind spots (the areas you are unable to see in the mirrors)
    • signal if necessary before moving out
    • look round for a final check.
Move off only when it is safe to do so. (I have made this bit bold so you know which bit I am referring to)

There was not enough room so it was not safe.

Anyone can answer my question, if a overloaded bus has a accident, then whose fault? If you bought a cup of coffee from a coffee shop and the temperature is over 70 degrees, your lips got a burn. Whose fault? The customer's fault, because he decide to drink the coffee?

I believe many takeaway coffee paper cups now have the disclaimer "beware: hot contents" or similar written on them. So yes. That's why 99% of customers wait for their coffee to cool before drinking out of it. You decided not to wait.

If you can't drive a big car, don't buy a big car.

No, you have no claim against them. e your'e driving it is 100% YOUR responsibility to not hit things, especially stationary objects. On the other hand, if you've damaged their pillar then they DO have grounds for a claim against you for damage caused by your negligence.

In the circumstances, probably best to just put it down to experience and hope they do the same :)

    But it's a necessity!
  • Never experienced a tight parking space or being blocked in? Im sure you will experience that again unless you took up driving very late in life and plan to give up driving soon.

You damaged it, They didnt. Move on.
Yes they could have blocked cars from parking but they didn't. They could have quizzed you about your parking skills before allowing you in but they didnt.

If it was tight you should not have moved it.

Your other question about putting 10 people in the car. Yes of course you can. You can squeeze 20+ people in it if you want. But drive it in a public place then expect a ticket.

Private land then your free to do as you wish.
Yes, they should get a ticket. They provide service to public, not to their family members. If they provide a service to public, then there should be a standard. They can't just have their own rules. That's just not right.

I would like to say, in this incident, I have 50% responsibility and the company got the other 50%. I didn't get the space I paid for. They squeeze more cars in to make more profit which cause this incident.

If you did not get the space you paid for then you should not have parked up. You should have asked for your money back and gone elsewhere.

Feel free to push a compensation claim, they may feel the inclination for a counter-claim for the damage to their pillar.
