Ruby - how do you do a whole chicken in a slow cooker?? Do you just stick it in?? Sounds delicious. Also love the idea of those ones you can use on the hob as well - you can't with ours, but it's a good idea for Dad's birthday pressie in March!

Yep just chuck it in and leave it for about 6 hours on medium. You don't get the crispy skin like you would with a roast but you don't have the trouble of trying to carve the thing.

Did my first workout tonight and I'm so unfit! But determined to carry on!

100g loss isn't cheating. I weigh in pounds (found myself binge eating when I saw the figure as stones and pounds!), and my scales weigh in 1/10th of a pound which is about 45g.

Cyberthrifty - 30DS is my absolute favourite, whenever I take it on I develop a full blown crush on Jillian!! We don't have the space to do it anymore (this has suddenly made me oddly sad) but OH did buy a cross trainer in the summer so I'm planning 30 minutes on that a day for my exercise :)

Made our first nutripudding tonight! Milk, banana, dates and a little bit of pumpkin spice. Was delicious and apparently 2 of my 5 a day?!
  • Hi I'd love to join you all too please. I started my previous weight loss journey on Jan 2 in 2013 and lost 2 stones before leaving SW as felt it was not very DFW. I have maintained (ish), but my clothes are getting snugger and I was miles away from goal and always 'about to get back on it' anyway. So 2015 is going to be my back in control year... pennies AND pounds! I will weigh in on Fri 2nd for our short week. We have a weekend away for OH bday the following weekend so I may be off to a slower start than hoped but that is no excuse not to start... life is messy and starting is the important bit :) I have a whopping 4 stones to lose!

    love flumpkin xx

Ok, ok, you've got me on the alliteration of Weekly Wednesday Weigh-in. But then in that case, why is the first weigh-in on a Friday?? Should we not give our start weight tomorrow?

    Anyway. Perhaps I'm over-thinking it all :o

Tete this did make me laugh! I'm tempted to weigh in tomorrow as I'm itching to get started but I know I will be eating and drinking loads over the next couple of days. I'm also back at work on Friday so figure I'll be depressed enough already in the morning! We are a faff aren't we? I bet Dinah is tearing her hair out already :rotfl: I usually do stones and pounds but guessing it will be easier for you if we all stick to just lbs Dinah? Also agree with Tete, a third of you seems like a lot?

I'm going to start the 30DS again too, hoping my love of Jillian will get me out of bed early enough to do it before work while DH is in bed! I have tickets to see her Maximise Your Life tour in Jan and am ridiculously excited!

I've still got my gym membership which I was using pretty well until I managed to fall over and scupper my knee last month after a few too many birthday cocktails so will be back there again now I'm fit again, they seem to have added some extra later classes which is good as usually work meant I couldn't make many of them.

    Cinny I have nutribullet envy!

Brain broken. Will reply in the morning. Cinny you've caused massive confusion between NIM and I, 400lbs??? I'm arguing for typo while he thinks you were trying to gain to 400lbs last year for a reason he hasn't yet managed to articulate.

  • Cinny91 she is awesome, I totally agree! What's a nutripudding? I assume made with a Nutribullet. I'm getting one of them next week, so excited! It might not be frugal but I will feel the benefits pretty quickly I think.

    Hi All,

Dinah please can I join the group? I have been very sloooowly losing weight over the last 2 years, about 2 stone I think. But this has ground to a halt in the last few months and in fact I've gained 3 or 4 lbs, so going back in the wrong direction! I seem to have lost my mojo and all enthusiasm for anything that doesn't involve junk food and lolling on the sofa :(

This is just the kick up the bum I need to get me going again. That and the new pair of trainers and Genie smoothie maker that I got for Christmas.

I will weigh myself at some point in the next few days, but I think I need to loose between 20-28lbs depending on what I currently weigh and how low I wanna go. Excited to get started with you all in the new year :D
  • Please may I join too? 2015 has to be the year I sort everything out. My weight, I need to lose 5 stone  Try and clear my credit card, £14000 and try to start paying some of my mortgage early.

I will post my starting weight on 2nd January.

    Thank you

    Hi Dinah,
Thanks for all the hardwork I think you may have missed me out. It was post number 16. I lost 40 pounds between August 2012 and middle of 2013. I managed to keep it all off till April this year when I went on holiday and gained about 20 pounds. I am now on another holiday and eating like food is going out of fashion. :D . I figure I have about 25 pounds to lose but I won't know for sure until I get back on the 5th and weigh in on the 6th/7th. I will see if it is possible to get my hands on a scale before then so I know just how much damage I have done.
