Dinah, can I ask a cheeky question? Why Wednesday? It bothers my analness that it's right in the middle of the week!
Off to meet my personal trainer tomorrow - wish me luck!!
That's also partly why I'll be weighing on a Monday and posting that weight on a weds. It has to be Monday's for me unfortunately.SPC 18 Target £200 /0 -
Tete if it helps, weighing on a Wed means we have a Weekly Wednesday Weigh-in which I find quite pleasing
We had a weight loss thing at work last year on Wednesdays, I was in charge of the spreadsheet

Can't wait for 2nd Jan.! Don't want to be a party pooper but I'm eating stuff just because it's there not because I'm hungry. Regretting making such a big xmas cake!:eek:I'm the only one who is stopping me from achieving my goals! :wall:0

I'm popping in to join too. I've been steadily losing weight this year but I've been yo-yoing around. I've got 10 months till the wedding and about 6 months till the dress fittings start so I want to be at target then. I think I have about a stone and a bit to go but we'll see! Hello everyone! I'll join too! I have about 2 stone to lose (which will make my current 'fat' clothes delightfully loose!
) to get back to my happy weight/size. I have no idea if it is even possible, but I'll try! Every pound lost is good, after all!
I have actually found that since going back to work after maternity leave that I have been steadily losing a little bit each week or 2 due to not meeting up with friends every other day and indulging in my beloved lattes and cake; but being back at work comes with it's own challenge which is looking after a baby, getting him fed, entertained and bathed, and feeding myself a healthy dinner without DH around to help as he works evenings.I really need quick, easy but healthy meal ideas! I also could do with ideas that are baby friendly too so I can share with DS which would save time and energy!
I'm also trying to talk DH into buying a slow cooker (he's been put off for life as all he was fed growing up was bland stews made in the slow cooker!), so if anyone has any fab recipes they can share, it'd be much appreciated!
Tete- like Shrimpy, I also enjoy the alliteration of Weigh-in Wednesday! We have a weigh-in on Thursdays at work, the logic being that you've had time to work off the excesses of the weekend by then!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Please can I join? I've been losing and regaining the same 5-6 pounds with every fresh start on the diet and exercise wagon, so I really, really need to focus this year.
Like a few posters on here, I need to lose around two stones, but since the run up to Christmas I've been eating everything I lay eyes on, not because I'm hungry but just because it's there... I'm also going to try and lay off the alcohol for at least three months, as that's creeping back into my weekends and has gone OTT over the festive season - definitely contributing to the steady gain these last few weeks.
I also like the fact that it's starting on 2nd, as New Year's Day is often such a bleh day for me. It'll be good to have one last day of rubbish eating to remind me of how much better I'm going to feel after ditching the junk. Sure the first weigh in is going to be an eye-opener for me!
Okay, off to create a nice new shiny weight loss chart...#21 Save £12k in 2025 £12577.35/£20000

Google slow cooker recipes - loads out there! An American blog called a 'year of crock pot recipes' is very entertaining. My friend who is a slow cooker whizz uses it a lot for ideas. I wouldnt be without my slow cookerOne thing to remember with slow cooker is that it requires A LOT LESS liquid in any recipe you might want to adapt - I cook chilli, bologese, etc etc in vast quantities for freezing but only use about a quarter of the liquid I would if doing it on the stove top. Anybody contemplating buying a slow cooker should maybe consider one with a 'crock' that can be heated on the cooker rather than the ceramic ones - I keep willing mine to break so I can justify buying one!

My best friend is getting married at the end of March and I will look nice in the photo's. Been doing a bit of an overhaul, gradually changing my hair style and weight is the next thing.
I have ordered an exercise bike to be delivered on the third. I had one a few years back and lost over a stone and a half but then I faceb sold it to clear clutter.
I know with the exercise bike and watching what I eat I can lose some weight, not sure on the target yet, at least a stone.
Will weigh in on the 2nd or 3rd. Working the 2nd and I like to weigh in the morning, so may forget.
Dinah If you can get your sheet to somehow work out the difference between pounds and percentage, then you could still rate the 'weekly winner' by percentage overall, if that makes sense. If I can help at all, please shout, bit of a spreadsheet geek, self taught, but I can do some stuff.Tete_en_l'Air wrote: »I know a few people who've said the same Fmess, there's even a hypnotherapist I know of who gave up teaching as it was making her fat (and ill through stress!) and she went into hypnotherapy to help others who gain weight through stress! Good luck - how did it go?
Wednesday because on previous threads I've been on they've found Monday's haven't worked well, people are in a rush after the weekend, or they believe they've had a rough weekend so don't weigh in, plus I do love the assonance of Weigh In Wednesday. My mind prefers Monday too, but Wednesday does help a little as DD is in nursery Thursday morning so I can do the chart then
I used to skate once a week but had to stop when I found I was expecting my second baby, could never go back as I couldn't justify the fiver a week, plus hubby isn't comfortable watching the baby. I just found out today that they have a free ladies skate night on Mondays from 7.30-9.30pm. He gets in at 8ish, so I could get there by 8.30 if both children are in bed. It's a big if but maybe I'll get there once or twice a month which would be nice. Don't have to pay rental either as I have my own skates. Took DD skating for the first time today (she's 2 1/2) and she LOVED it, she's a really adventurous child, hates sitting still or even being indoors most of the time, I desperately want her to keep that enthusiasm up so she never has to worry about her weight.
Working on the spreadsheet now (well helpful hubby is). Very excited...Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008
