So excited to see so many people :D Was worried I'd just get a 'this board is for money not your tummy, you are now relegated to the back boards of beyond'.... I'm scared when I leave DFW! I love it here, such a supportive group.

I'd like to join please! I have a lot of weight to lose and would like to shed it all in 2015 as well as get fitter and feel healthier.

Do we have to post our actual weight or is it how much we've gained/lost?

I'm excited. Just planning on eating right and moving more here. Nothing fancy and no fad diets.
You don't have to post your actual weight if you're not comfortable doing it, although if you would pm me it I can put it in my table and not post it on the thread, just so I can work out percentages lost each week... unless you just want to post your weekly percentage instead of a number. I know for me I feel more motivated by saying I've lost 2.2lb for example than 1.2% but I do agree it's a fairer way to work out who gets the big shiny all-bow-down-to-me-kudos that week.

    Hi,
Can I join please. I have around 3 stone to lose. I was very successful with WW a few years ago, losing a couple of stone, when I went with my Mum. She has since moved away. Have tried doing it since I got married but finding it much more difficult when hubby is not doing it with me. Went to SW earlier on in the year and found that I was getting really stressed on weigh in day - so much so that I was getting chest pains!!! So hopefully this will help me to lose the weight again.

Eeek, well I hope we're nowhere near that scary. I would be staggered if we don't have a few stay the same and gainers each week, sometimes its impossible to have a good week, or even worse you do everything right and the scales still aren't your friend.
    Can I join please.
How does it work do you give us a number and we post number and weight in signature like with the debt free challenge or just log in with the weight. I have some health issues as in I broke my back and had to learn to walk again so would love to hook up with anyone who wants to share tips.

You're welcome to put it in your signature if you like, just like with other DFW challenges. I'm planning to keep a list on the front page of challengers, and move you onto a goal list if you've hit yours. If you log in every wednesday and post your weight loss that week in bold or colour then I will post a lovely little chart on a Thursday with everyone's results for the week for us all to coo over.... I'm starting to realise I may have taken on another big project in an already full life so the system may be adapted if I've made it too complicated or you all ask me to come up with a new way!

I've updated the list in the first post, if anyone is missing I'm very very sorry, one handed name copying while feeding the littlest, please let me know and I will add you on.

  • How long will this challenge go for?? I would like to make a realistic goal (haven't decided if it will be a dress size, pounds lost, or percentage lost yet). Looking forward to it!! :-)
  • Just found this thread and it's just what I need. Have a lot of weight to lose but would be happier and healthier to shed three stone. Looking to another job opportunity hopefully in April time far more demanding than present role so reducing weight and generally being more active would be very helpful. Frankly I am also at the age when I can ill afford to be carrying extra weight all the joints are beggining to hurt!

Dug out my SW books and some old magazines, need to dust of the scales ready to start weighing.

    Looking forward to starting.x

My best friend is getting married at the end of March and I will look nice in the photo's. Been doing a bit of an overhaul, gradually changing my hair style and weight is the next thing.

I have ordered an exercise bike to be delivered on the third. I had one a few years back and lost over a stone and a half but then I faceb sold it to clear clutter.

I know with the exercise bike and watching what I eat I can lose some weight, not sure on the target yet, at least a stone.

Will weigh in on the 2nd or 3rd. Working the 2nd and I like to weigh in the morning, so may forget.

Dinah If you can get your sheet to somehow work out the difference between pounds and percentage, then you could still rate the 'weekly winner' by percentage overall, if that makes sense. If I can help at all, please shout, bit of a spreadsheet geek, self taught, but I can do some stuff.

  • Hi Dinah93
Okay number 22 here ready for action. I have no problem giving you my weight I figure it is like my debt I need to confront it and tackle it. Besides no one on here knows me. I won't put it in my signature but I will put pounds lost and if I put weight on then I'll knock that off but that isn't going to happen as I've reached my rock bottom on the weight front. You are starting on the 2nd which is a friday and I'm away with no computer access so I'll give you my weight now and post every wednesday beginning 7th Jan - thank you so much for doing this it is really appreciated.

I'm a teacher too and completely agree that the stress of it encourages the weight gain. My weakness is chocolate too, although I'm a Cadbury's girl through and through. I also want to get back into running. I've promised myself that I'll get back to running 5km by the end of the Christmas holidays, so far 20 minutes is my max in one go (although back in March I could do an hour non stop :( ) - and that's on a good day.

    Oh heck me too:D ;)

I know a few people who've said the same Fmess, there's even a hypnotherapist I know of who gave up teaching as it was making her fat (and ill through stress!) and she went into hypnotherapy to help others who gain weight through stress! How is the running going?

Dinah, can I ask a cheeky question? Why Wednesday? It bothers my analness that it's right in the middle of the week! :o
ETA: Going to weigh myself on a Monday I think like EverTheOptimist :)

Off to meet my personal trainer tomorrow - wish me luck!!
