Rampant Recycler I've been Money Tipped!
    Well done NIM!!

My OH has lost 6lbs since Sunday without even trying! (although he hasn't been eating much)

The Ferrero Rocher are still UNOPENED! This is a huge deal for me! I have found the thing that has stopped me wanting chocolate: what do I want more, chocolate, or to fall pregnant? The more weight I lose the easier it will be!

NIM didn't think he'd lost either, 'all' he did was cut out the bottles of coke in the car, the bars of chocolate from the petrol station, the sausage, egg and bacon with the beans on toast for a breakfast at work, the one whiskey and coke on a night.... but you add it all up and it's about 1500 calories a day he's saved!

There has been a lot of nagging about those petrol station extras, he says he stopped a few weeks ago but wrappers were left in my car. I think it's the old problem a lot of us have that we tell ourselves 'well just this once, it's a treat, I don't do it everyday' but actually we do it more than we realise and it adds up in more ways than one.

  • Well done NIM.

Dinah I hope your little one feels better soon, my son had the same and it was horrible bless him.

Thanks for the recipes. I am adding my sausage casserole recipe, according to myfitnesspal its about 334 calories per serving. We had it with green beans.

    Sausage casserole
    1 can, Baked Beans
    2 cans Chopped Tomatoes
    Mushrooms - Raw
    Courgette
    1 Beef Stock Cube
18 Skinless Sausages - still frozen is fine
1 can New Potatoes In Water

Put everything in a casserole dish along with enough boiling water to make the sauce cover everything. Give it a stir and cook at 180C for about an hour.

I added 2 tbsp of BBQ spice mix I had made. You could use normal sausage but the skins come off and float about in the sauce which I hate so we use skinless.

This week we lost 86.9lbs between us which is approximately the same as an adult male german shepherd dog, or a 12 year old girl of ideal healthy weight.

I sorted that by only using pay at pump facility so never have to go in shop.Of course the ultimate way to avoid petrol station sneaky calories is to buy an electric car..........which we are later this year. Not that the idea was to stop buying chocolate but to save money - fuel costs me £50 a week at moment. Going to cost me about 90pence a day to charge car:money:

I don't know if weighing yourself at night would be the best as you would have eaten and drank water throughout the day. I believe it is usually better to weigh in early in the morning before the day starts. My 2 cents though...
As long as you always weigh at the same time of day (and in the same situation) it doesn't actually make any difference, you should see the same drop each week as you would if you always did it a different way.

For me it's first thing in the morning (after a visit to the little room) in just my birthday suit. I think this is probably recognised as the most 'stable' way of weighing (always the same), although a lot of exercise or an extra salty meal the previous day can play havoc

For some it's fully clothed on the scales in a shop - this is probably the worst for variation as you wear different clothes in the winter to the summer as well as it depending on how soon after how big a meal

And for some it's in an evening, where the main difference will be the after eating issue
