  • CHRISSYG that veg box looks fab, you've inspired me as i'd like to make more of an effort to eat local and support local people. I'm in Bucks so will check that site out, thank you.

Junior cook books for the diabetic hamper is a great place to start. There are so many more diabetic products out there now. I'm afraid I don't know a lot about them but a diabetic lady I used to work with used to love the little boxes sugar free of sweets that M&S do, such as butterscotch drops. They're only about 80p, could be a good stocking filler?

freespirit woohoo!!!!!! :T:beer::j How exciting!! I've only won a few things in my time but it's always a thrill. And Yankee candles too! What scent are they? Really happy for you.

I'm really trying this year to have a bit more of a 'make do and mend' attitude. After having wiggle last year we were shattered and had little time so just got into the habit of buying stuff for ease as we saw it and mostly at full price. Now i'm a bit more with it this year i'm going to make an effort to cut costs everywhere I can, i'm on Freecycle and joined local Facebook groups. We were looking at a high chair that came recommended by loads of mums but it was £150-£170! I managed to get it for £50 from Facebook. I know, I know it's still a lot of money but it is solid and will last him years as it converts as he grows - adults can even use it if you need a spare chair! I really hate bartering and i'm rubbish at it, but I was so pleased with myself the other day as someone was selling something I wanted for £6 and I asked if they'd do it for £5, I know it sounds silly but as soon as I sent the message I felt really anxious. I don't know why I get like that because if the person doesn't want to they won't, but I just hate asking! Turns out she was fine with it and I saved myself a pound. I know it's not much but every little helps and I was pleased with myself!
  • Well, another nippy day for us, thank goodness it is the weekend, felt like such a long week.

Sorry about the appointment Jess, such a pain, pardon the pun, hopefully they will be a bit more with it for you next time.

Belated happy birthdays to those I missed, just pretend your're the queen and have 2 birthdays!

Was looking for vest tops to wear to bed, don't like sleeves in bed, gosh they are difficult to get hold of at mo. Saw some in H&M, for £4 each, which I thought wasn't too bad, but then I wandered off and forgot. Went into Lidl yesterday evening and they had packs of 3 for £4, guess who had to buy 2 packs :j That will keep me happy for a while.

Had to return a shirt I bought for my godson to Next, as this is the child who was going for a sleepover after Christmas who announced he had checked the jumper he wore Christmas day and it was fine, despite the fact it was filthy, you can just imagine what he would have said if I sent him a dress shirt:eek: It is a really nice shirt, but he definitely won't wear it:rotfl:

  • newthrift I hope the congestion clears soon, it's horrible when it's all in your head.

freespirit yes there's some great bargains on there, I check daily now! :p

My money saving continues, I've been meaning to buy a steam mop for ages and there was a 9-in-1 model I wanted on Amazon reduced to £49 so I cashed in my survey points for £30 Amazon vouchers so only ended up spending £19 of our own money. :T

We have no plans for this weekend except to go to Harvester for their £4.99 all you can eat breakfast this morning! Then I might have to start tidying up as our house has turned into a tip this week! I hope you all have a lovely weekend. x
  • Morning, from a lazy, still-in-bed mrs l. Is having no plans contagious? l only ask cos l have none, either.
Havent done much this week, but when l wasted an hour on pinterest yesterday l found a few ideas l'd like to try. Also looking at the scruffy, tired looking chez invis I think I need to start sprucing it up, a coat of paint and a change of colour perhaps. Or l could keep the lights off and not see the dump as it is!
Better get up and make coffee, have a lovely weekend, everyone. xx
