  • Evening everyone, DS got me a pedometer so i put it on today while i was cleaning, it was a productive day (for me :D) i hoovered, mopped, washed, tumbled, tidied, put the kids stuff back in their rooms, put some stuff out in the garage and omg it was embarrassing seeing how little steps i had done :o:o no wonder i am fat and unfit i dread to think when i am having a down day how many i do probably less than 50 :o so that is definitely going to be worked on this year

NEWTHRIFT oh how lovely already finding THE dress and veil that is one big thing crossed off the list, back in my day we didnt have save the date cards to buy, my DS best friend had her wedding invites delivered today, she is quite a individual chick, always has been, DS designed them for her and they are fab, they are done like a concert ticket and are so different

PEPPAPIG blimey i didnt realise you had so many grandchildren, how fabulous!! And two newborns this year, aww how lovely, if i need any advice i know where to come :rotfl:

JJ hope it goes well with the neurosurgeons appointment

Oooo Free they sound fab!! Very individual :-)
I saw the news of Anne last night, what illness had she been suffering from? I know my Grandma passed away at 60 and when I was 13, it seemed old at the time but now, almost 11years later, it really isn’t that old at all!!

Peppa – glad to of been of help!

Not much to report in here, had a few ideas gift wise for people. Need to order my dad his woolen buff he has requested for his 50th bless him (my mum got him one for Christmas and he said it's great in this weather:cool: )
We have a lot of snow forecast to arrive overnight and I honestly won't mind getting snowed in, work is just poo atm. It's boring and I can cope but one of our colleagues is really starting to not deal with the redundancy and it's making it very difficult as whatever we say she doesn't take as comforting/assistance and...anyway enough rambling about that :shhh:

I finally sat and looked on boots but so much sold out, next year I MUST make time to sit and get in early! Off to nosey at the offers/grabbit boards see if there is anything suitable.
Christmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:

  • sad news about Anne Kirkbride. Really not liking 2015. can we fast forward?

Had a wander around town after doing food shop.. primark had adult xmas pj's down to £1-£3 ... managed to get my 3 older girls matching ones... hope they don't put on weight this year lol.. also 3 hats and a couple xmas tshirts down to £1 each.

Our boots still had some perfume sets and mark hill hair dryers and rolling curls.. was nearly tempted but still £23 and couldn't decide if dd2 would use them or not. So left it.. missed the bits i wanted to grab in clintons when they knocked their sale bits down again nevermind.

Its my step brothers bday today so popping over to mums in a bit. just waiting on my dd1 to get home to have some lunch with her then i'll pop over there if they are in.

Don't think i'm going to have my fb page published this week, def not tomorrow as planned.. i still need to do some photos to put on it then i'll publish it and keep adding as i go along.

Hello lovelies....have finally managed to find some time to catch up again and plan to try and at least keep close up to date. (failed miserably last year)

2015 not off to a fantastic start - both myself and my little munchkin haven't been well. Just cannot seem to shake whatever virus we seem to have picked up. He turns 3 at the end of this month so really hoping that we manage to shift it by then so some fun can be had. His 2nd birthday ended up being postponed as he wasn't well then either. Would seem we don't do too well in winter.

Hope everyone is coping in this bad weather that we are having.

Hugs to all that need them and condolences where they are needed. Seems that nearly everyone is having a tough time of it. Hopefully this will just be January blues and from February on things will start improving for all.

On the Christmas front I don't need any paper, tags or cards. Didn't manage to make it to the sales in time for specific named cards this year but it isn't the end of the world for all I really need to buy for. Have decided that next year I shall be selective on posting cards too - sent quite a few this year and didn't get any in return and postage isn't cheap so that's a definite change.
Have bought my first 2015 Christmas present. My friend and I try to buy each other a "special" ornament and our local department shop had 25% off so I was able to spend a little more than I would to get her a really nice one. Just have to remember where I stash it for December.

Anyway - I've started to ramble SORRY :o

(ps: my birthday is 13th April if you want to add me in)

Cancer, according to what I read in the newspaper this morning.

It is so sad :(, and must have been such a shock to her colleagues.

Hope that everyone is keeping well.
A good life is when you assume nothing, do more, need less, smile often, dream big, laugh a lot, and realise how blessed you are.

Sad news about Anne Kirkbride. I don't watch Corrie (haven't for years) but she's one of the few characters I do remember from when I used to watch it way back. I even remember her coming into it in the 1970s when she was Ray Langton's girlfriend - think Len Fairclough was still in it then! I think she had cancer a few years back so just assumed it had come back when I heard - the news seem to have been quite vague about it. Horrible start to the year for her family and friends.

Newthrift, I agree. My much loved aunt died when I was about 16 - she was 61 and it seemed pretty old to me. I'm now a fair bit nearer to that than you are and it seems no age at all lol. Inside I'm still much younger as long as I don't look in any mirrors! Sorry to hear about your colleague - hope you manage not to let it get to you too much and you can still keep your positive approach.

Freespirit - I must admit I didn't really realise how many there were myself until I wrote them all down for the post. Strictly speaking only 4 of them are actually 'mine' but DH and I have been together since all but 1 of them was born so we look on them all as being 'ours'.

3forholidays - I was thinking the same thing about cutting back on birthdays too. Having a big family is lovely but very, very expensive and with DH having retired early due to ill health and me not earning what I used to we have to cut back really.

Kiwi13, hope you and your little one are soon feeling better. The bugs that are about at the moment just seem to go on and on - DD is still not right and she's had it since just before Christmas.
It's the most wonderful timeof the year :
  • Evening everyone, well i will be sending even less christmas cards this year seen as i accidentally threw my address book out with the recycling :eek: with all the phone numbers in there as well!!! I have just done the Alzheimer test that was mentioned on the news tonight, because i keep forgetting words when i want to explain things, forget things that someone has told me etc but its fine it said i was above average for my age thank the lord :p

NEWTHRIFT i heard it was cancer again, although they did say it was a short illness, bless her. I feel for your colleague but dont let it get to you, sometimes when someone feels like that constantly and doesnt accept help or comfort it can get you down as well.

KIWI i hope you and your DS are feeling better soon and especially for his birthday

  • Ameyturtle I hope you're feeling better now.

freespirit yay for your goals! What recipe are you making on Pinterest? I hope the pedometer works for you, I was thinking about getting one as I've only got enough time for walking at the moment so need to challenge myself a bit. Please don't take this the wrong way but I couldn't help but laugh when I read you threw your address book in the recycling! We all do such funny little things. I also forget words all the time - i'm always clicking my fingers and saying 'what's that word??'. It seems to be worse after having LO!

Junior I do hope these painkillers work for you.

CHRISSYG I hope the hospital can help your daughter with these new seizures, poor thing.

mculloch it's good your DS can now start to fix things - think of the savings! I watched a few Super Scrimpers episodes recently and I was surprised at how easy some things were t fix.

newthrift yay for your wedding dress find! :T What's it like?

kiwi I hope you and LO feel better soon.

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY newthrift and Betsie! _party_

I was sad to hear about Anne Kirkbride too, she was so young really. :(

Brrr it's cold at the moment! Usually I welcome snow with open arms and really love it, but this year I don't want it at all! If we get snow i'll be stuck inside which will be really tough with wiggle.

Well I've finally finished 'The Magic of Christmas' by Trisha Ashley - what false advertising! It was a good book but Christmas only happened in the last couple of chapters and wasn't all that Christmassy. I wanted to read something festive in the run up to Christmas and went by the title of this book and the front cover but have only just read the festive bit! I have checked my book for this year and it is Christmas from the beginning. :D And yes I do realise there are much worse things going on in the world! :p

On the one day this week I have to go out we have snow typical.

Hospital was a very pleasant experience for once, DD is now under the adult care team and what a difference. We saw a lovely nurse who read DD's VNS and she sorted out DD's appointment with the Epilepsy nurse. She was appalled that DD hasn't been seen by the children's team since about June 2013 despite numerous attempts to see them.

In an effort to use the supermarkets less and spend less I have ordered fruit and veg from Parsnips and Pears delivery service, the produce is from local [ish] farms in the area. Over Christmas some of the items I bought were from Nevada. Peru and Egypt all that travelling can't be good so today we start to source locally.
