I think that this might be my first check in of the new year. Sorry about that.
I was very poorly at the beginning of the year.
I'll be back to check in more later. Just wanted to say I am thinking of you all, I'm reading just not posting.
Love and hugs to all xxx0 -

Hi everyone. Hope everyone is well. Hugs and cuddles to those who need them, condolences to those who lost someone/thing.
Called into Boots today and picked up a few things that I couldn't get online. Some for myself and some for gifts. Also bought cards there. Then went into Semi-Chem to discover that they were closing downSo got 4 packs of 12 christmas cards for 5p, and pack of 100 stickers for 5p. Bought the remaining 30 packs of stickers as they'll do as part of a present for the kids in work next year lol. Also got a wee Minnie mouse Pencil tin with Marshmallows in it for 20p. They have a date of May 2016 on them so I bought the remainder of those, and the girl had some more out the back so got about 60 of them for £12 or something :T They'll do kids gifts in June, and Party bag fillers for the daughters birthday parties :T
Also managed to get my white Christmas tree (EVENTUALLY) in Paperchase for £3.50 as they had an extra 10% off the price today :T
Now it's time to stop the buying. We've made the decision to go to Florida next year. So it's save save save from now to July 2016. Our only problem is we can't book anything yet as there's no-where taking bookings from Belfast or Dublin yetI'd rather book it now so we know we have to pay it off lol.
So here's hoping we can make it *fingers crossed*Pay all debt off by Christmas 2025 £815.45/£3,000£1 a day challenge 2025 - £180/£730 Declutter a bag a week in 2025 11/52Lose 25lb - 10/25lbs Read 1 book per week - 5/52Pay off credit card debt 18%/100%0 -
Whats going on guys? I thought I would come and sit and have a good read of at least 5 pages! Hope everyone is doing okay and as usual sending hugs all round. x
Not much to report from me really - I am finally on a new painkiller regime - slow release morphine with liquid morphine top up! Today is the first day I actually woke up from a nap without horrid pain! (the pain is always there but when I lay down or recline the shunt does not drain at all then the pain comes full pelt! ) SO fingers crossed it will keep helping!
Xmas wise I want to check our wilkos and card factory and boots soon! xNanMias - cyber granddaughter!

Morning all,
I will be "encouraging" my OH to seriously think about the vegtrug ,our soil is heavy clay plus it will hopefully save my poor back. I don't really do "frivolous" as I have to have a use for whatever I buy for myself.
My poor DD is having a tough time she has started having a new type of seizure possibly Myoclonic but the problem is unlike all the other ones she has she is aware during this new one as its happening and its scaring her.We have an appointment at Hallamshire Tuesday so hoping to get some answers.
I am loving working weekends its so much busier so the time flies by and of course at 4 pm on a Sunday I'm done for 5 days [really like that part ]This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Hiya all. Ty for your thoughts and wishes...i had sent an email which got ignored and tried to add him on fb when i saw he was active on there and my request just went back too add friend. ( horrid suspicion his new wife had something to do with it but cant prove that) i will just have to deal with the situation.... i have had a message passed on via my mum about the date of his cremation no place and that (his new wife) expects donations and no flowers... nice to have the option to go isnt it..it was them who needed to say sorry not me and i know they wouldnt want me there but its not about them. I shall get together with my 2 younger brothers and have a drink to the silly old man instead.
On a better note i popped into wilkos the day after and they had just marked it all down to 75% so we had the pick of the lot and filled 2 baskets full for £18. Oh and my online boots order came...1 item out of 13 cancelled and they had put a dove set in by mistake so i contacted boots who said to keep it.Totally debt free wohooo 2014

Good result on your Boots order MrsG. Sorry you're having a rough time - it's a difficult situation but I think your solution is a good one, you don't need to be at a particular place to say goodbye and doing it in a way that works for you is what matters.
JJ, glad to hear the new pain meds are helping and glad to see you're still your usual upbeat self. Reading your posts is a real tonic - not because of what you're going through but because of the way you approach it. Hope you get to Wilks soon.
IrishRose, well done on your purchases and woo hoo for the holiday! :j
Freespirit, we had snow yesterday morning - about 12 flakes I think. Got all excited when I saw it then it was all over. Mind you tbh it was just as well as we were going out to see DD and I haven't done a proper shop since before Christmas so we've very little in the way of food. I love snow when I've got a full cupboard/freezer and can watch it all from inside in the warm lol.
Finally almost straight at DD's new house so will have more time from next week. Unfortunately it's reminded me I want to do some decorating at home too. We tend to keep thinking we've only just decorated everywhere but forget that we've been here nearly seven years now so some parts are ready to be re-done lol. I want to keep the kitchen and bathroom the same but just freshen up the paintwork in the same colours.
Have four birthdays this month and have just bought a pressie for an 80th birthday in March. Going to do a 'tool kit' for DSIL's birthday in March as he and DD will have to get used to doing their own repairs now they're owner occupiers and not renters. Not done anything Christmassy yet but planning to do the Christmas budget very soon so I can start putting money away. Have definitely decided on a £10 limit for adults next year but not sure at what point 'children' become 'adults' for pressie purposes - any suggestions? Was thinking maybe when they move out of home and get partners? It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0 -
Glad to hear you have more pain meds JJ, horrible to think you are in pain all the time though :-( x
We have loads of snow still here. A few inches fell over the last few days then froze last night, so it's not shifting . Not Looking forward to getting up our hill so I can go to work at 6pm. It Is nice and christmassy, the kids got excited when they seen me bringing a wee christmas tree in from the car, but it was a 3ft one reduced to £1.25 that will do at the front door glass panel next year, they thought I was putting it up lol.:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0 -
I done it! I am caught up now and ready to start the assignment work. Phew!
Well doneWhy can't these so called professionals realise how their actions can affect people with Autism.
DD was supposed to be helping in the interview process for a new member of the mental health team tomorrow. I rang them as the letter was a little light on details [ie what time the taxi was to arrive] only to be told the plans had changed [in quite a bit way] and would she still be ok with it ???
Let me think:mad::mad::mad::mad: changing something last minute + Autism not know to be a good combination. Needless to say DD won't be going now.
Please make sure you formally complain. The very fact that they didn't realise these change's would impact on a person with autism is awful! I hope you get some answers for your daughters new seizures.msgigglewick wrote: »sounds like lots of exciting times for peeps on herei've just been reading the boots thread on grabbit lol the usual it is/it isn't thing going on.
I've spent the last week designing some papercuts and cards.. the designing takes sooo long compared to the 30 mins to cut lol just need to take some proper photos so i can put them on my fb page then i can publish it. (dh still building my actual website that might be ready come next millennium lol) Struggling with how to price them though. Don't want them to be too much people are put off but don't want to underprice at the same time. I've done a few that can be personalised and some that are to go just as. Think i need to research that bit, a bit more maybe.
Xmas wise... umm i might pop to the boots sale.. not overly bothered this year though, having remembered tescos and wilkos etc all reduce them to around the same prices and my girls aren't overly bothered by labels. Money is a lil bit more easier which isn't forcing me to get up and out early either lol i know i should be savvy still but blah. Just not motivated gift wise yet lol
Pricing is always hard, my one tip would be not to price things too low![/COLOR]2024 Challenges
Live in the moment more and appreciate the small things0
