wilkos is worth checking this am... all xmas stock down to 20p... including diaries and calendars. picked up two of the filofax type style ones.. shame they have 2015 on the front or i could get the new insert for them next year and give them away... i might beable to put a vinyl design on the front over the date though. was just beaten to grabbing their light up wreaths that were £25 down to 20p but nevermind lol. i only went in for dog food and a throw for my bed (got a nice dark purple fluffy fleece one for £7.50) £14 later and tonnes of wrapping paper and a few more gift sets for the girls to add to the pressie cupboard.Totally debt free wohooo 2014

Have also been to the wilk* sale this morning, got the wreath you missed, sorry. Also other bits and a snowdog choc. for DGS treat.
Clintons are sold out except for wrapping paper, and the Debenh*ms blue cross is pants in our local store. (thankfully, as otherwise l would succumb to temptation).0 -
Afternoon. Wish I could have went to Wilko's this morning, but my DD1 is off school with a barking cough and a high temperature. I did pop in to the coop on the way to school with DS and they were reducing boxes of christmas crackers to 5p, cards 8p, wrapping paper 1p a roll and Truly irresistible Biscuits for cheese dates Nov 2015 for 3p. I got as much as I could carry. :j
So I finally went to Roller derby training last night, and I loved it. I will be sore tomorrow, it was hard work. But so much fun being on roller skates. Just hope I can keep going. Its hard with 3 kids and their dancing and clubs etc. but I need something just for me. I've been doing Slimming world too, so I have slowly been getting a life outside the house. My OH isn't supportive and huffs when I go out, and laughed at me in my sporty gear last night. But he goes out all the time and I always support everything he wants to do. A bit fed up with it now.:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0 -
Sorry to hear that your OH is not being supportive of the activities you are doing for yourself Nic. However, I say ignore him and keep it up. Hopefully he will come around in time. Everyone deserves time to do recreational things for themselves.
P.S. The roller derby sounds like such funSmiles are as perfect a gift as hugs...

Chrissy I think it's a great idea to try and shop local produce where you can. I've got to start eating veg first but once I get that nailed I'd like to give it a go too. I've heard that some of the veg box people put recipes in and cooking instructions - I think I'd definitely need that.:D
Nic - good for you! The rollerderby sounds fun and the 'doing something for me' sounds even better. :T
Mrs G, thanks for the Wilks tip. Won't be able to get there today and pretty sure they'll have nothing left by tomorrow but might pop in just in case. Well done everyone who got bargains.
Finally doing my first proper shop since before Christmas today. I shop at Aldi and love the prices and most of the stuff but I can't abide the car park - even with DH's disabled badge it's sometimes impossible to park. If it carries on like that I'm going to have to go back to Asda - the money saved is great but it isn't worth increasing my stress levels for. It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0 -
Thank you everyone, I'm trying not to let the colleague annoy me and carry on positive! My manager and other colleagues are all fully aware and too are getting fed up of it as it's just getting annoying (that sounds insensitive I know but we all only have so much patience).
Such a shame that it was cancer, but I suppose a small blessing it was a short time with it..? Nothing worse than watching a loved one suffer. I hear that they are leading a tribute to her tonight at the TV awards.
freespirit :j for passing the Alzheimers test
princesskitty which Christmas book will you be going for this year? I want to try and read one this time, I just did a short christmassy story last time. My dress is a princess dressstraps and fitted to the hips with a v-neck and is a laced and bead/sparkley bodice then a tuelle type material skirt with a train and the back of the dress is button up and you can see through (so having a bra sewn in) and will be having some little sparkle bits added to the skirt part. I then have a cathedral veil which has lace on the bottom and sits on my train - I promise to post some pictures after our wedding so you can all see as I don't know if I explained it that well!!
I've had a snow day today, I could of maybe tried to get in at lunch but it wasn't great and I didn't want to risk it. I had said I was prepared to take a holiday day if need be. All the ironing is done, bed changed, de-cluttered and cleaned upstairs (just bathroom to clean and I haven't touched the spare room, that needs a day to itself :rotfl::eek: ), done most of downstairs, just had a quick catch up on here and then will finish off the best I can. Phewww, nothing like not wasting the day
I hope that everyone is well.Christmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:
Mum to two boys :heartpuls0 -
Speaking of Christmas books, I have two looking for a new home:
1) Carole Matthews - With Love at Christmas
2) Sarah Morgan - Once Upon a Christmas
They can either go to the same home or to two separate homes.
Requests by pm pleaseSmiles are as perfect a gift as hugs...

Well today was a waste of 7 hours - I was ten minutes away from the hospital but there was traffic so I phoned up to say I may be a few minutes late.. to be told my appointment had been cancelled and their not sure why I was not informed! Such a waste of a day and stressful! Not amused and apparently not seeing surgeons till march despite my discharge letter from 2 weeks ago stating I needed appointment brought forward.
Anyway.. rant over! xNanMias - cyber granddaughter!
