Hospital appt went ok but as they aren't sue what's caused mils walking problem they can't fix it so I think we have reached the end of the trail with that one.
Got a random extra halfday offered to me at work when I went in, not refusing it so quickly added to my diary so I don't forget.

Book people delivered at work so a couple of extra pressies sorted.

Very proud of your daughter Mrs Honey Badger!

Hope you all got through the funeral ok Linz.

Yay, glad you got the biscuits at the new price PrincessKitty.

MrsI, sorry you missed your concert – you have my admiration for even considering going though!

04624181, I didn’t get anything wrapped today either but if you watched a Christmas film I think it can happily be counted as a successful day lol.

Freespirit you’ve done really well to be finished. I seem to be particularly disorganised this year and am faffing about instead of getting things done! Tonight I must make a list of the bits I need to finish off the pressies that I’ve started. Unfortunately I’ve become addicted to Fruit Pop and Candy Crush on the iPad and don’t seem to be getting on with anything else!

Well, the Studio saga may be nearly over. :T I still haven’t had a reply from customer services but I’ve had a dispatch email today for the remaining two quilts so all being well they’ll be here by next week. I still won’t ever order from them again though – I think the mark of a good company is how well they deal with you when things go wrong and they’ve failed miserably on that front!

Ooh, and there’s a house on the way to DGS’s nursery that has the whole of the front covered with decs and lights and has a sleigh on the roof. Unfortunately it wasn’t dark when I drove past but it was still pretty impressive.
It's the most wonderful timeof the year :
  • MRSI - Hope you get a lovely memento from the missed concert, pleased you had some lovely visitors - even if it wasnt quite the evening you had planned.
Oh, and my daughter came home form dance class last night and asked if she could put her christmas tree up!!

Please tell us you let her :j

Ellie - Glad the car is sorted, and for the much lower price option!

Going to miss the JL advert too. Not heard anything about the cola ad, is it this weekend, or next? Cant stand the Xfactor, but I always manage to sit through the one episode a year when I know its the first showing of my fav xmas ad!

I am sure you all know, but incase you dont, Argos are doing there 3 for 2 on toys tomorrow! Luckily, I really cannot think of anything else the girls need or have asked for, so I am keeping away.
It's not about getting what you want, It's about wanting what you get.

  • Evening All! Wow the thread is really moving now!

Freespirit - Thanks for the photo upload info. I will try to take a pic of my Goldilocks Russian Doll stacking pressie! I just need to buy a book now to go with it. Loving the xmas list, what is a North Pole breakfast?

Funny Bunny - Welcome, I'm new here too!

Ruth_Honey - I absolutely love the rocky horror show. Did you watch Strictly on Saturday the Halloween special? Jamelia and Tristan did their dance to the time warp! I went to see a live show in Birmingham years ago. We all dressed up and had to get the night bus! We were young and didn't care! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Pinknfluffy - Nice pressie a trip to Silverstone, enjoy!

Elliew8 - I've not seen any xmas decs in houses near me yet! :(:(

Linz4383 - sorry for your loss.

Mrs Honey Badger - do the slots for people on the payment plan thing at Mr T get to book their slots earlier than everyone else?

I got a couple of lovely GLade Christmas smelling candles in W!lkinsons at the weekend. They were £1.75 each, the cinnamon apple one is lovely. They would make nice little stocking fillers or teacher gifts.

We are doing Secret Santa :xmassmile in our office, I have picked the one person out of the hat that I didn't want! We really don't get along! We are supposed to spend £5. I'm not sure what to get her, any suggestions would be good. I thought about a meerkat coffee mug that she could use at work (she likes meerkats!)

I have just watched The Office Christmas special. I love it when Dawn and Tim finally get together! I might put on Alan Partridge Knowing Me Knowing Yule!

How do you store your wrapped up pressies if you wrap them well in advance? I would be worried they would get torn or look tatty!

Phew long post. Have a good evening everyone.
🎄The most wonderful time of the year 🎄
  • Evening everyone, nothing christmassy today as it was one of my days with Thumper

PEPPAPIG oh glad you had a lovely birthday, oh that is funny both of us buying the same thing, i thought it was really good value with such a big discount, glad you got your £5 returned. Haha candy crush IS addictive i had to tell DD1 to hide her ipad as i kept being on it for hours :rotfl:Glad the duvet covers have been dispatched i hope they arrive asap! Yep me too if the customer service is dire i never use them again!

MRSI oh what a shame you didnt go in the end, nope i couldnt stand longer than 20 mins either :o i hope you get something nice. Glad DGS had a fab birthday and his comment about the mist made me laugh!

FEISTY you have a million and one things going on in your life, i however have nothing better to do than obsess about christmas :rotfl:i really dont know about Boots but i have a feeling it is pay before and just pick up

MRSMONEYPENNY oh your poor MIL i hope they have sorted the pain relief even if nothing else, that is the second time they have given up on her, is it her age do you think? Because i have heard horrible stories about the elderly being left to put up with their ailments. Ooh i bet the lights and twig look lovely, i am itching to put up 3 angel wing decs i bought in paperchase the other week up now :rotfl:

MRSHONEYBADGER ooh a hamper seems the right way to go, cant really go wrong there. I love your DD haha.

ELLIE i dont know why but your countdowns always shock me about how long left there is :D glad the car didnt cost a fortune to fix

WHITESATIN ugggh i used to have to go to the ikea on the north circular, horrible drive i agree, i have been going to southampton the last few years but next year will be so lucky to have one 5-10 mins away. I really need to get to an ikea for a shadow box but i know i will be sorely tempted with all the christmas stuff too.

CHERRY i need bl**dy superglue atm :rotfl:

LINZ i hope today went as well as can be expected

PRINCESSKITTY oh good for you taking the biscuits back, it seems every shop going is reducing prices/having a sale atm i cant bear to look :D

04624181 oh no how annoying having to take the car to be sorted out but love your watching a christmas film in the afternoon to make up for it! I am going to have a look tomorrow i definitely need to start christmas film watching this year!

SPRINGDREAMS yayy i am definitely going to see the coca cola truck this year as part of my 50 things to do before i am 50, it never came to reading last year so going to make the most of it coming, thankyou for link. Oh and the ikea one did bring tears to me eyes, i hope to god my DD2 doesnt watch it!

PIXIEFAIRYDUST ooh yes would love to see a pic please, mine keep pristine as they are in the top of my wardrobe and noone ever goes in there, i dont put all the ribbons and bows on until they go under the tree

  • Pixie - my wrapped presents get stored in a large suitcase on top of my wardrobe. They are still in pristine condition on Christmas eve - until I start rearranging them umpteen times under the tree - I always manage to rip (and have to re-wrap) at least one!
It's not about getting what you want, It's about wanting what you get.
  • The Matalan returns saga continues! I tried returning them to store today but couldn't, because even though I had the returns note, they apparently couldn't process the returns without my invoice. No idea how that works but they said it's because on the returns note it doesn't say what quantity of particular items I had paid for, so because with some of them I was returning more than one, they have to check that I paid for the items in the first place!! I showed them my despatch confirmation email with all the items, price etc but the lady then turned round & said, 'yes but we can't take that as proof because the quantity could have changed after despatch'. They had me baffled here, how does the quantity change after the packages have been dispatched??

Anyway, I put a complaint comment on their twitter page so have had somebody message me about it now. I still think I'm going to have to make another trip to the store with my actual invoice, but it's just really annoyed me. What I can't work out is if that's the I returns policy, how would that work if I had returned the items in the post because it would still be the same returns note.

I went to tesco today for a few groceries and grabbed a few of the half price gift sets. They have a few really nice sets in the offer so if any of you are looking for something a little extra for somebody I'd recommend having a nose.
  • PinknFluffy & Freespirit - Thanks for your pressie hiding ideas!

I have 2 cats and they love to shred paper! My fear is that I will have to re-wrap everything! I might buy some large storage boxes and put at the bottom of my wardrobe. If I wrap as I go along I will be more organised!

I'll have a look out for some boxes!

SpringDreams - Thanks for the col@ info. I've watched the !kea advert, it did bring a lump to my throat! We forget about the simple things in life!

I will try to post a picture on here tomorrow when I have a bit more time!

    Night night
