Morning! Not so foggy here today, was cold last night and the late dog walk was a bit damp!!
I need to get 2 hampers for the ladies that work for us, will wait for a Marks and Spencer offer, I think. One of the ladies is very hard to buy for as she is very quiet and does not talk about things she likes...
Going to try to find some kiddies gift wrap, and wrap the kids Santa pressies as I buy them.0 -
Oh, and my daughter came home form dance class last night and asked if she could put her christmas tree up!!0

I have by stealth made a start on decorating, when the Halloween deccys came down I put a large vase in the hall with those fairy light twigs in, it looks really nice a welcoming when they are lit up at night.SPC~12 ot 124

Morning all :santa2: 52 days to go!
I'm gutted I'll miss the JL advert on Friday morning, I'm guessing the 'Holidays are coming' one will be on during X factor on Saturday though so that will really get me in the festive spirit!
Oooh and I know you'll all appreciate this - I saw a Christmas tree in someone's window last night :xmastree: was sooo happy trying to look in their window that I nearly crashed my car lol
Ah and my car is fixedthe OH said it would either be a new car job or a £5 part fix, so I ordered the part and he's said it's done the job luckily!
We watched the Santa Clause last night and I got in my Christmas PJs and socks and had a hot chocolate, was heavenI'm dreaming... of a white Christmas :snow_grin :xmassmile:rudolf:0 -
princesskitty29 thanks for your suggestions and your explanation of a hot chocolate station. I might set up a "station" for their ongoing Christmas lunch but maybe with chocolate milkshake as a treat. The children are not allowed marshmallows since a tragic incident in a restaurant a while back which we read about.
I saw my first Christmas door wreath on a front door yesterday, coming back from Ikea, in the North Circular area. The houses were very run down and I wonder if, maybe, it was still there from last year!
I ended up spending too much in Ikea. Now there's a surprise! I bought some stainless steel roasting dishes which I can use to experiment with cooking ahead and freezing. Wondering, though, if, as they are open top, will covering in foil be enough or will I have to wrap the foil all the way round to keep them in good condition.
I bought some little (red) led tealights but am not that happy with them. I had white ones from The White Company last year and these ones are very difficult to use, for me anyway. I just liked the fact that they were red. They will do the job but, if Ikea wasn't such an awful drive away, I would return them. I also bought some little strings of led lights and they are nice. Three, red, star shaped candle holders, 3 white star shaped candles and a few other things for the kitchen. It has got to stop, this spending.
Got the pjs I ordered for my grandsons, reduced in M&S. Halloween designs but I think they won't mind.0 -
Hi,
I have to say, it's a bit miserable here today (weather wise).
04624181 - That's really bad regarding the tablets. I'm sure some people (especially on new medication) wouldn't have noticed in that situation.
Free - I definitely need to join you in glueing my purse shut!
Feisty - The crackers are really lovely and came really carefully packaged. Would definitely recommend.
Mrs Honey Badger, not sure what your budget for the hampers is but if you're not making them yourself, I like Keelham farm shop for hampers and these look good for something different: Bear Hugs Gifts
Ellie - Thanks for the regular countdown update0 -
Well finally caught up. Its been crazy whilst ive been away! Now the holidays gone its xmas mode again!!!!
Got my grandads funeral todaythen ftom the weekend going to start the wrapping and sorting out
Cant remember half of what i was going to saynow!

hope everyones had a good halloween and those who have had birthdays have enjoyed them.
Loving the xmas films and music being on!0 -
MoneyMission thanks for the Nectar double up heads up, i've never done it before or at Tesco. We rarely use our Nectar points so i'll look into it.
Clumsy is that how you got your name?I quite often wear glasses and sometimes Wiggle smashes his head into them and boy does it hurt on my nose!
04624181 oh no that's awful they messed your meds up, that could have been really serious. I know everyone's human but you never think things like that will happen!
freespirit yay for being finished! :T That's amazing! Every year the same thing happens to me, I think i'm being really organised and then I get to November and realise i've still got lots left to buy. Part of my problem is i'm always waiting around for or looking for the best deals when sometimes I should just buy the stuff! Sometimes I don't think the saving is worth the effort!
Pinknfluffy you sound like my mum - every year she says she's not going to buy as much then every year she buys the same! :rotfl:
mrsinvisible ah it's a shame you didn't make it to the gig but it sounds like you had a nice evening with your guests. What a strange settlement, is he a farmer?? Ah your DGS's comment about mist was sweet, very clever!
Mrs-moneypenny great to hear you've got some more work. I hope your MiL is doing ok? I love the twigs with lights, they are so pretty and welcoming.
Mrs Honey Badger it sounds like your DD is one of us!
ellie yay glad to hear your car is fixed! Your Christmas evening sounds fab, it's great to start ding these things and making the most of it.
whitesatin that's so funny you mentioned the marshmallow incident, I was a toddler group the other day and this lady said a friend of hers was a nurse and they had a child come in who had a marshmallow stuck in their throat. Just an awful, awful tragedy and I don't blame you for keeping them well away. The chocolate milkshake station sounds like a great idea. There's some pins on Pintertest where people have made mini milk bottles look like reindeers to serve chocolate milkshake in. Your bits from Ikea sound lovely.
linz I do hope today went as well as it could, thinking of you.
I'm pleased to say I managed to return my tin of Bourbon biscuits and bought them at £5! I really need to get on with buying the rest of the presents if I want to be done by December. Wiggle is having a nap so i've got a cup of tea, Delia's Classic Christmas is on the TV and i'm going to browse the net to see what I can do.0 -
Tesco christmas slots for those on delivery saver plans are released on the 26th.
Got presents ticked of my list today. how satisfying is that feeling?
Cracking on now.0 -
HELLO:santa2:
Freespirit66-WHOOHOO well done that is fantastic that you are finished. My purse is officially glued shut until payday!
pinknfluffy28-You are a very very good christmassy person lol xx My ds is 8 years older than my dd who is 5. We play alot of family games so that is what I try to buy them both. I never thought about colouring books. We all love colouring x
peppapig- When the kids went back to school yesterday my thoughts were exactly the same as yours - Wrap presents! still not wrapped one!
mrsinvisible-So sorry to hear that you missed your concert but must say that admitting that you couldnt do it is alot better than thinking you can do it and ending up in agony for days afterwards. So well done you x
Feistyfidget-sorry not sure with boots, hope you get it sorted though x hope you are all well and the house is coming along x
MrsHoneybadger-lol Your daughter would get my vote! My tree would be up now if I could get it out of the loft. :rotfl:
Mrsmoneypenny- Good idea! one decoration at a time, nobody would notice here until the whole house is decorated lol
elliew8-Glad your car is fixed and glad it was the cheaper option for you.
whitesatin-ikea is always an expensive trip for me as everything is so useful and I need it lol
cherry24-The weather is miserable, wish it would just be winter already! crisp mornings, NO MORE RAIN!
linz4383-hope you had a good holiday.I had xmas films o today doing the ironing.
Princesskitty29-Glad you managed to return the tin and get a refund then buy it at reduced price. its always annoying when you wait and wait to see if it is reduced. You get sick of waiting and buy it and then they reduce it! its annoying and I have done it so many times.
Well another day NOT wrapping gifts. My morning consisted of going to the garage as the car boot would not shut so the central locking would not work and the car was beeping its stupid alarm to tell me the boot was open aaargh. luckily it was only a short drive to dd school and then straight to garage. They sorted it out but was nearly lunchtime before I cam home. SO watched christmas films and did my ironing instead lol x0
