Morning,
Was up before the birds this morning 4.30am and couldn't get back to sleep  so spent the last hour catching up on here.
No 3 4 2 on at Argos today but it has been said that it starts on Friday so will keep my eye out on that again.
I've had a few relatives ringing recently to ask what my boys want, I haven't got a clue lol they did their Christmas list over the holiday but almost everything is over £50 which would be way over their budget, so I expect a few pairs of pj's and lots of chocolate saying that can't have too many pj's!
Nothing christmassy planned today other than browsing on pinterest for Christmas craft ideas to do with the boys for when they break up from school.
Have a lovely day xxx0 -

Hope everyone is well
Free the photos of thumpers birthday were lovely thank you for sharing.
I've got a few more bits I need to do and it's ds1s 21st a couple of days before Christmas so still trying to think what to do for that.
I've been given more work which is great as I love the job and the money helps us this week mil has two hospital appts so my time is disappearing rapidly.
I'm so sorry they can't find a cause for MIL painWell finally caught up. Its been crazy whilst ive been away! Now the holidays gone its xmas mode again!!!!
Got my grandads funeral todaythen ftom the weekend going to start the wrapping and sorting out
Cant remember half of what i was going to saynow!
However i did read that t3scos double was starting again or already has....
hope everyones had a good halloween and those who have had birthdays have enjoyed them.
Loving the xmas films and music being on!
I hope all went as well as can be expected at the funeral xMoneyMission2015 wrote: »The Matalan returns saga continues! I tried returning them to store today but couldn't, because even though I had the returns note, they apparently couldn't process the returns without my invoice. No idea how that works but they said it's because on the returns note it doesn't say what quantity of particular items I had paid for, so because with some of them I was returning more than one, they have to check that I paid for the items in the first place!! I showed them my despatch confirmation email with all the items, price etc but the lady then turned round & said, 'yes but we can't take that as proof because the quantity could have changed after despatch'. They had me baffled here, how does the quantity change after the packages have been dispatched??
Anyway, I put a complaint comment on their twitter page so have had somebody message me about it now. I still think I'm going to have to make another trip to the store with my actual invoice, but it's just really annoyed me. What I can't work out is if that's the I returns policy, how would that work if I had returned the items in the post because it would still be the same returns note.
I went to tesco today for a few groceries and grabbed a few of the half price gift sets. They have a few really nice sets in the offer so if any of you are looking for something a little extra for somebody I'd recommend having a nose.
That Matalan saga truly is awful! It has put me off ordering from them.

Morning morning
Linz, my condolences and hope it went as well as can be expected yesterday
PrincessKitty I agree we need to make the most of it with only 51 days left! Glad you managed to get the biscuits returned, very MSE
04624181 first off I actually remembered your usename this morning without having to check which means I think I come on here too much lol hope the car managed to get sorted and don't worry about not wrapping, it's actually one of the last things I do...I've been known to stay up rather late on Christmas eve still wrapping! Hope it doesn't come to that this year though...
Yay Peppa I love seeing decorated houses! And fingers crossed the Studio stuff comes soon
Thanks Pinknfluffy, I'll see if there's a link on youtube for the JL advert when I get into work Friday and post on here so we don't miss out
Springdreams thanks for the links!
Pixie it won't be long until everyone's dec's are out! Although my OH doesn't let me drive much though because I can't help but look at the houses as I go past lol and I think a mug for a co-worker is probably spot on...Oh I understand your cat-problems, my little one thinks it's the best game ever - whilst I'm wrapping and after I've finished as well
Free I know, the only reason I'm up to date on the days is because I have a 'Days until Christmas' calendar block thing so I move it down every morning
So I have a question for everyone (sorry if it's against anyone's religion) but I just wondered if anyone goes to midnight mass? I think it might be a nice new tradition for us but don't know if I can stay awake that late on Christmas eve lolI'm dreaming... of a white Christmas :snow_grin :xmassmile:rudolf:0 -

Not been for years, but that is only because the priest changed the time to 8! The dads were avoiding the last minute stress so went to the pub and rolled into mass after closing time. Changing the time meant that families went as a family and if anyone wanted a drink afterwards (this is in Ireland and pubs don't have a licence for Christmas day) there was time.
Love going to watch the littlies faces as they didn't know whether "he had been" while they were at mass but nod enthusiastically when told they need to go to bed as soon as they get home or he won't come. Eyes shining with excitement, wonderful time.
Definitely start the tradition!A smile costs little but creates much0 -
Our village is having a live nativity this year. Including donkeys. Never been done before so it should be magical I think. The children are all being involved. Cant wait. Hope it snows (just a little)0

I would welcome advice, please. My granddaughter will be 7 on 1st December. I bought a Playmobil Advent Calendar in John Lewis on special offer. It looks great fun and I thought it might help "extend" her birthday through to Christmas. I have wrapped it up now but am wondering if it is a bit naff to give her something Christmassy for her birthday just because she is a December baby.0

Hi Getting there - I think it's always right to remember why we celebrate Christ-mas. Hope you have a lovely evening, and it will help the little ones to go to sleep if they have some fresh air before bedtime!2025 Fashion on the ration

MrsMoneypenny-Sorry to hear about your MIL, good news re the the half day off and the more gifts.
Peppapig-So glad to hear that you may get your duvet covers! yeah! but not a great advert for their customer service and I will not be using them again due to peoples dealings with them on here. :j decorated houses are fantastic mood lifters! We are going to do a night drive for decorated houses for our advent family activities. Going to get kids in onesies, get some snacks and their fleecey blankets and take a drive round to see the best decorated house.
pinknfluffy28-I dont watch the xfactor either but will make an exception for official christmas advert unveiling lol
springdreams-OMG!! that ikea advert is so ....pull on your heartstrings! Makes you think though. This is why Im determined to have everything done so I can enjoy christmas and make it extra special with lots of fun activities and time together. We are going to camp out in the lounge one night. We going to get the blow up beds down, just have the xmas tree lights on, watch xmas films and all camp out. Family fun creating memories.
pixiefairydust- Great bargain with the glade candles. Agree with you that meerkat mug sounds good to me! if you any money left over put some choccies in it r a small pack of biccies!
moneymission2015-matalan are being ridiculous! they can check their systems to see what was ordered/delivered! incompetent lazt staff spring to mind. why does nobody own a problem and see it through to the end anymore. People just fob you off with its not the right paperwork instead of saying here is a number to ring that will help you get everything you need to be able to return it.
funnybunny-i though I had an early start at 5.30am lol x My DD and DS are doing christmas lists tonight as I am being asked by family too.
Quidsy- Whoohoo- looks like studio are finally getting their act together as peppapig got her dispatch email too.
linz- hope yesterday went as well as it could x
elliew8- The christmas eve wrap is my usual trick but am determined not to leave it so late this year. Always ends up with my hubby getting snappy about "too many presents been bought" so thought it would be easier to just get it done. Also want to properly see what I have bought as there are allsorts of bags and boxes in the loft. We do not go to christmas eve mass but we are a christian family, I was christened catholic. I cant ever remember going actually. People I know who have been say its lovely.
cbsexec-the nativity sounds lovely and im hoping for snow too.
Well I have been in the loft all morning with hubby throwing rubbish out and organising charity bags. Have now got the start of some kind of order lol. Hubby has been to the tip/charity shop and he has hoovered up too Tomorrow I can clear my craft desk and start the christmas wrapping! yeah!! Ended up finding lots of bags of christmas goodies that I had forgot about so not buying anything until I have written down a new list. Started a sturdy storage box for all the christmas food and drink goodies now too. All in all not a bad mornings work. Have been debatingwhether to buy a foot stool as hubby doesnt think it wil be used, when I was in the loft I remembered we have bought the DS a leather look recliner with footstool for when the loft conversion is officially finished.( its half done but work halted due to needing new roof!) so I have polished it up and hubby brought it downstairs to use. It is black so doesnt match by brown settee but it will do for now, if we use it I will order one that matches my colour scheme
bye for now xx
Holidays are coming!0 -
Pixie Fairydust - I also love the Christmas episode of The Office! Also Gavin and Stacey, Him and Her, The Royle Family... any Christmas episode of a British sitcom and I'm there!
cbsexec - The nativity sounds great, especially the donkeys!
Had a bit of a panic yesterday - I have some minor eye surgery coming up, and I contacted the hospital to see if they'd had any cancellations. Yesterday they emailed me saying they'd cancelled and rebooked my existing appointment for a date when I'll be in Finland! I called back immediately and halfway through explaining what had happened, the call dropped, and I couldn't get back through. I finally managed to get my old appointment back before they gave it away again, but that was a seriously worrying hour - I've been waiting months for this appointment!
It's my brother's birthday tomorrow, so once that's out of the way it's all systems go for Christmas0
