Freespirit - Both from home bargs.
    Sprinkle sets are 99p
Biscuits were 59p (I think) dated June 2016. They have santa, snowman, and an elf x
I'm tipping the sprinkles out of the santa and elf tubes, and replacing with hot choc powder, and mini marshmallows, then I will tie the 3 together for a twist on snowman soup for dd's, to go in xmas eve hamper. Not sure how candy cane sugar sprinkles will taste in instant hot choc, but I think they will look fantastic!

Oh thankyou for that, thats brilliant will look out next time i am in there! That is a fab idea to make it a bit different

    Hi all
Very stressful day. I spent hours walking around Loughborough looking for some pj's for my sister, I bought a pair that weren't really what I wanted, but went into Leicester and got her the perfect pair in Primark and just took the others back. Got my Dad a Brut set for £4 in Superdrug which I was really pleased about, as was mum as she hadn't bought smellies for Dad.
It seems I have still so much to do- I've bought what seems like a shed load and I totted up I still have 10 presents left to buy at a cost of about £200
I spent ages today trying to find a card for a December birthday for the rugby guy I sponsor- they all seemed a bit girly though! Given he's a 16.5 stone forward whose built like a brick outhouse I figured girly wasn't the right option! Got there in the end though!
Going to do some more shopping next week when I go home- hoping to make real inroads into the shopping.

I have a question for you lot - do you normally ask for anything specific from anyone for Christmas? My aunt ALWAYS asks me for ideas and every single year I really struggle to come up with things. I love surprises! Does that make me a nightmare?

(on the flipside, I hound my brother for months before Christmas, because he never comes up with any ideas until about 23rd December, which is when he does all his Christmas shopping - there's no point in surprising him, because he has such particular taste).

Just wondered what the norm is for everyone else!

I try to keep an amazon list going with varied costs. It saves the hassle from DH, BIL and MIL asking me about gifts, plus they all communicate so I don't get duplicates. From my own family I always ask for cash as you can guarantee we will get a mystery bill come January!

    Morning,
We have just had an Aldi open up in the closest town to me so I was there queuing for my golden ticket at 6.30am haha! I got a £15 shopping bag of goodies with mine and it's mostly stuff I would normally buy so I was very happy with that! The TV/Smartphone aldi one's are all good but I didn't have a need for them. A women a couple of places behind me won one of the phones and she was so delighted it was lovely!!! It had quite literally made her week :D
Peppa I have forgotten my 'flickr' login to post photos so hopefully the links below will work. One is outside church and then a close up on the bodice of my dress. I haven't posted one from the back but when I do i'll post here as it was very beautiful at the back also and I had a cathedral veil!!

Looks like everyone is doing well with Christmas shopping.
I'm disappearing off again as I'm still catching up at home/work and Christmas shopping. Me and my mum are planning our annual big present shop and lunch day which I can't wait for (normally we go in September but I was otherwise engaged ;) )
    Big christmassy hugs all round

    x

    You look absolutely beautiful!
New thrift - you looked gorgeous, your dress is lovely. Makes me want to get married again so I can wear a big dress. I'm not sure my OH would want to spend all that money again though : )

Feisty - was crimson peak any good? I quite like the look of it but I know sometimes the movie doesn't quite live up to the trailer.

I have now officially finished my sisters shopping and have loads of stuff sorted for my stepmum too. I've still not really got anything for my dad except for a few retro games, but they're really just for us to have a laugh playing on Christmas Day, I still need a 'proper' present for him.

I've literally got nothing for my OH though. He's only given me one suggestion of a gift which doesn't really help me because I always end up having to think of ideas for me to get him and then all his family ask me for ideas too, rather than just ask him themselves. I find this particularly annoying because it takes me ages to think of my own special gifts for him & then they all just nag me until I give in & end up telling them some of the stuff I had planned on giving him. This year I think I'll just tell them I've got no idea so they'll have to just keep nagging him.

Youngest daughter had a Halloween school disco tonight. They break up for half term tomorrow so the school usually tries to do something before they finish school. She enjoyed herself & it was lovely to see the kids dressed up. Last year they didn't have a Halloween disco & the year before we were on holiday so it's the first one she's been to in a while.

I'm having my front room decorated before Christmas. I finally got a decorator to come round & have a look and he sent me the quote yesterday. He can't start until the end of December which I was a bit gutted about because it means I can't put the tree in the window until that's finished. But I'll put the Christmas decs up everywhere else and just get that room sorted once the decorating is finished. Hopefully it won't take him too long.

I put my hanging baskets up. They look lovely. I haven't switched the lights on yet though, I'll wait & start doing that once bonfire night is over with. They're battery operated which is good because it means there's no cables running anywhere.

I've noticed there's a few Christmas adverts popping up on TV now. I'm looking forward to the coca cola advert & the john Lewis ad. I used to love the M&S adverts but I didn't think last years was as good as previous adverts. Very sad comparing adverts hey, but anything remotely Christmassy gets my attention.

I really enjoyed it :) It is more of a love film with ghosts in, but even DH seemed happy with the film :)

Mrs I huge congrats on being asked to do wedding flowers, you should be really proud.

I have been so naughty and I'm feeling really guilty. I finally caved and bought a KitchenAid mixer! It's cost an eye watering amount (more than my first car ) but I found a local shop selling online that are not only doing the free glass bowl and chopper attachment, but also a set of Joseph Joseph multi cutting boards that DH has been eyeing up in JL for months (but we couldn't stomach the £60 price tag!). Although the mixer is an insane amount, we have got £220 worth of freebies (actual cost of buying the freebies as opposed to their over inflated figure of £300 RRP) so I've justified it. I've had to use money set aside for our tax bill and it pretty much means that all my spare spending, birthday and christmas money until January is spent, but it's been on my wishlist for so long!

Good morning :) I'm feeling a bit tender this morning, in fact I may be slightly drunk still!
Clumsy that made me laugh about the 80's perm - I have curly hair too so I can imagine pretty well lol
    Newthrift you looked beautiful :D
MandCo I got an email from Boots yesterday about their £10 of points on £50 spend so you'll probably get yours soon
Money I'm looking forward to the Christmas adverts too, should be 2 weeks time and I'll be fast-forwarding through xfactor to watch the Christmas adverts!
Nothing too Christmassy today...although last night our taxi drove past the Harvey Nics shop and their Christmas display is up and was so lovely, embarrassed myself yet again by getting over excited
    I'm dreaming... of a white Christmas :snow_grin :xmassmile:rudolf:

  • Hi all, i've been banned from the laptop the last few days as something was interfering with DH's work computer (he works from home) but all sorted now so i'm back again! I've had to catch up so apologies in advance for the long post!

newthrift so glad to hear you had a great wedding and you looked lovely in your dress.

mandco thanks for the link to the Ocado Bourbon biscuits offer. I had a look but unfortunately there wasn't anything else I wanted so might have to bite the bullet and buy them and hope for the best!

fiesty I'm glad DH's 30th worked out well in the end. Oh my I also bought a KitchenAid last year when I got an unexpected bonus last year - I love it!! Mine is pastel pink. I just love using it and remember if it's looked after correctly it should last a lifetime! You've been through so much fiesty that you should be able to have a little treat. Enjoy it!

CHRISSYG I'm so sorry to hear about your DD, how horrible for her and you. I do hope it doesn't take too long to get better.

freespirit I'm so glad to hear you had a lovely weekend away and that you feel like you had a rest. Did you go to the Chocolate Cafe in Henley by any chance? We like popping in there when we go to Henley. The '50 things to do' list is a fab idea! It's great doing things like that as it prompts you to actually make plans to do things. You'll have to share some of them with us!

nic thanks for those stats they were interesting to read.

3forholidays thank you for offering to do the new thread, I have no objections you did a great job last time. One of my favourite titles is 'Santa Claus is coming to town'!

Clumsy Wow you do have a busy week! I had to look up Cryotherapy, it does sound like it might be a bit uncomfortable. I do hope your hand doesn't take too long to recover from it.

Peppapig Ahhh it's annoying when you buy something than it goes cheaper isn't it?! I hope they just refund you the £5 so you don't have to faff around. Did you manage to find an M&S code by any chance? There are a few things that I want but i'd prefer to buy them on offer.

Mrs Honey Badger I haven't got a Sparkle card yet, do you have to do it in store? I looked online the other day but couldn't find anything about signing up, perhaps I didn't look properly.
  • I am excited as DH has booked a break for us Mon-Fri at Centre Parcs Longleat in November, we got the pack through and it's going to be a Winter Wonderland! It's a shame Wiggle doesn't understand it yet but I will love it!!

I've now started reading 'Christmas at the Cupcake Cafe.' I have two Christmas books to read this year, I finished the last book I was reading last week and decided to just get started on my Christmas books. I hope I don't finish them before Christmas!

I've been buying some bits and bobs for Christmas, i've now finished DH's Cadbury's hamper. It's frustrating because there are a few bits I want to buy him online but i'm always scared that the stuff I look at are going to start popping up in adverts on various web pages. It's so annoying when that happens. I've been busy planning my North Pole breakfast and Hot Chocolate Station. We don't have an elf this year as Wiggle wouldn't get it but I can't wait to do a North Pole breakfast so i'm doing it this December 1st. I think I do things more for my pleasure! :p
  • What is a YouTube hamper? What goes in it? How old is your dd? I've heard of zoella please tell me x

my daughter is 13.. doesn't really do much other than all sports going (she has all the equipment already for) and watch youtube/reality tv lol so i've been collecting merchandise from her favourite youtubers ... tshirts/books/dvds/smellies etc etc and those will be her stocking fillers... shall get her some of the x factor moments chocs etc and also got a youtube cushion and some of the emoji pillows.

Has everyone signed up for a Marks and Spencer Sparkle card? i did it in store today, you get to choose your first offer, I chose 10% of food and drink, it lasts 13 days, so I will be going back and stocking up!
Bits and bobs are arriving through the post, DD(13) has asked for one of those hover board things... Not sure if its a good idea or not!

My 14 year old son has a hover board and he loves it.

Although they are apparently illegal to ride in public places, the police are not taking any action against anyone riding on them. My DS rides his around the house and at the local park.

My son got his in July though before all this talk came about of them being illegal to ride in public.

They are not cheap, so do bear this in mind if you are not going to let him ride it anywhere, and it is simply going to be an indoor dust gatherer ....

princesskitty winter wonderland at centre parks sound lovely. You could still get an elf just skip the activities/mischief part this yr

sklyanders superchargers is on offer as low as £35 depending on console not sure wether to bother this yr as they haven't really been playing with the ones they already have & taz keeps asking for lego dimensions so might hold out and see if there are any good deal on that instead :undecided
