Got my new upright freezer today and can't stop admiring it, lol. It is really tall but not taking up too much room (I have put it in the multipurpose room at the back of the garage). Still plenty of room for my crafts, children's table, toys, printer, hobby trolleys, hostess trolley, chair and even a full size stereo stacking system. We were going to have the room converted into a little snug but I am happy as it is now and at least it will fulfil a good purpose when it is filled with all my pre prepared Christmas food, ready for the family at Christmas.
Just had a phone call from the company who clean the oven each year. He suggested coming in December but that seems daft, better to come along after I have had my massive cooking sessions, surely?0 -
Hi all.
Had some good bargains. I've been amazon stalking for Dh presents. Last night I checked and the dab radio I wanted to get was down from 50 to 30. Then today I flicked onto his aftershave on amazon and it was on a lightening deal with only an hour left to go and nearly all was claimed. Whipped on quick and ordered that too! V pleased as that's the majority of Dh done.
Nipped to smiths as had a 6 off 15 spend. The playmobil still was too dear but o got dd2 some beados instead as I was stuck on a craft item for her and this was shopkins.
Then nipped in pound land and the advent calenders were there and they had star wars ones so I got them one each.
V productive Xmas wise!

I think you're probably right Murie, I won't cancel the meat order, at least I don't have to worry about getting it now, just got to remember to turn the spare freezer on before it all gets here.
Thanks for the basket info MrsI - I think I'll have a go at a couple, I noticed the other day that DD has a hook to hang one on just outside her front door so I'll do one for her and one for me. Congrats on being asked to do the wedding flowers, bet they'll be beautiful.
stressedoutmumofone that's really useful to know about the bags, thank you.
Newthrift your dress is beautiful - love the veil too - you looked really lovely.
Mandco that's really annoying about the mattress - so much hassle having to return it. Hope it all gets sorted out smoothly.
Was a bit miffed today. I bought a train set thing for DGS last week to put away for Christmas - it was reduced from £50 to £25 in the ELC sale. DD messaged me this morning to say it's only £20 now  Anyway, I've got 28 days to return it to store for a refund so I've emailed them to ask if they want me to return it, get the refund and then reorder at the new price or if they just want to refund me the £5. They've promised to respond within 48 hours so fingers crossed.
On a more festive note, DSis and I collected a variety of fallen logs, branches etc., from the woods this morning and DH and I are going to sort them out and prepare them so we can have a rustic deer making activity when DGD is up with us next week. There's a good tutorial on youtube so fingers crossed they turn out ok but they'll be on display in the front garden for Christmas even if they all look decidedly the worse for wear
Off to see if I can find the M&S 20% off code. It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0 -

Also went into superdrug and got some zoella goodies to go in my dd3's youtube bundle of gifts. Picked up both zoella books on tuesday. Think shes nearly done.... just headphones, outfit to go i think.
Keep seeing gifts for dd4 but must restrain, we'll need a new house just for her if i don't lol.
Hope everyones well and happy0 -

Has everyone signed up for a Marks and Spencer Sparkle card? i did it in store today, you get to choose your first offer, I chose 10% of food and drink, it lasts 13 days, so I will be going back and stocking up!
Bits and bobs are arriving through the post, DD(13) has asked for one of those hover board things... Not sure if its a good idea or not!0 -
New thrift - you looked gorgeous, your dress is lovely. Makes me want to get married again so I can wear a big dress. I'm not sure my OH would want to spend all that money again though : )
Feisty - was crimson peak any good? I quite like the look of it but I know sometimes the movie doesn't quite live up to the trailer.
I have now officially finished my sisters shopping and have loads of stuff sorted for my stepmum too. I've still not really got anything for my dad except for a few retro games, but they're really just for us to have a laugh playing on Christmas Day, I still need a 'proper' present for him.
I've literally got nothing for my OH though. He's only given me one suggestion of a gift which doesn't really help me because I always end up having to think of ideas for me to get him and then all his family ask me for ideas too, rather than just ask him themselves. I find this particularly annoying because it takes me ages to think of my own special gifts for him & then they all just nag me until I give in & end up telling them some of the stuff I had planned on giving him. This year I think I'll just tell them I've got no idea so they'll have to just keep nagging him.
Youngest daughter had a Halloween school disco tonight. They break up for half term tomorrow so the school usually tries to do something before they finish school. She enjoyed herself & it was lovely to see the kids dressed up. Last year they didn't have a Halloween disco & the year before we were on holiday so it's the first one she's been to in a while.
I'm having my front room decorated before Christmas. I finally got a decorator to come round & have a look and he sent me the quote yesterday. He can't start until the end of December which I was a bit gutted about because it means I can't put the tree in the window until that's finished. But I'll put the Christmas decs up everywhere else and just get that room sorted once the decorating is finished. Hopefully it won't take him too long.
I put my hanging baskets up. They look lovely. I haven't switched the lights on yet though, I'll wait & start doing that once bonfire night is over with. They're battery operated which is good because it means there's no cables running anywhere.
I've noticed there's a few Christmas adverts popping up on TV now. I'm looking forward to the coca cola advert & the john Lewis ad. I used to love the M&S adverts but I didn't think last years was as good as previous adverts. Very sad comparing adverts hey, but anything remotely Christmassy gets my attention.0 -
Evening everyone, nothing christmassy going on here today i have been trying to rest my leg
oh i keep forgetting to mention, i have heard the IACGMOOH noise twice now on tv advert breaks heehee that is the start of really feeling christmassy for me!!
GETTINGTHEREQUICKLY haha that link to F Ted made me laugh, i havent heard it before :rotfl:
MURIE blokes just arent on our wavelength regarding presents, women like to really think about what to buy, buying it at the right price and then of course wrapping it with thoughtfully bought wrapping paper themesif they actually knew what we put into present buying they would think we were mad!! Of course you do get the odd one who buys the perfect present, card and paper, but the majority are the same
ELLIE oh i did enjoy it a lot, im so glad we decided not to eat beforehand, DD2 was going to order some sandwiches!! haha, ooh i hope you have a lovely time at your chocolate lovers tea in december!!

Freespirit - Both from home bargs.
Sprinkle sets are 99p
Biscuits were 59p (I think) dated June 2016. They have santa, snowman, and an elf x
I'm tipping the sprinkles out of the santa and elf tubes, and replacing with hot choc powder, and mini marshmallows, then I will tie the 3 together for a twist on snowman soup for dd's, to go in xmas eve hamper. Not sure how candy cane sugar sprinkles will taste in instant hot choc, but I think they will look fantastic! It's not about getting what you want, It's about wanting what you get.0
