Good morning Christmas crazies
Oh and thank you to whoever mentioned the half price M&S shortbread I picked some up yesterday...and there was a Christmas tree in M&S!!!!! I freaked out slightly and started squealing and jumping, much to my friend's embarrassment lol
Ooh I like being a Christmas Crazy and I would so love to have been with you in M&S :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0 -
Great ideas everyone! Thanks for giving me some inspiration. I'll make the decision nearer the time.
That's if no one objects to me starting the new thread?
A good life is when you assume nothing, do more, need less, smile often, dream big, laugh a lot, and realise how blessed you are.

I def don't object 3forholidays - and I think another song title would be good too. Suggestions....
Driving home for Christmas
Merry Christmas Everybody
One of the lines from the 12 days of Christmas (7 swans a swimming, 8 lords a leaping, 26 ladies dancing or whatever it is lol)
Murie, the cabinet is finished - I'll try and take a decent pic without getting myself in it (mirrors in the top half). I've tried the paint different ways and it's definitely much better if you water it down. I've just finished two side tables and today was at DDs and she was throwing out a small chest of drawers that I really like so I've brought it home and it'll be my next project. Unfortunately she'd put it outside in the rain waiting to go to the tip so I'm hoping I can dry it out ok. It was me with the QVC meat hamper too - I feel really pleased that I've ordered it but I do keep wondering if maybe I should cancel and just look locally instead.
Kaya - I always hope for surprises. My sis is very good at them, my Mum not so much and my DH hopeless although he used to be pretty good at it! I asked DH for a camera for my birthday this year because he couldn't think of anything. Then I had to choose a camera (i.e. read loads of reviews online) and order the camera as DH doesn't use the computer and pay for the camera (on our joint credit card). When it was delivered the other day we were out so DH did actually collect it from our neighbour but then left the parcel on the table until I pointed out that it might be nice to put it away! It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0 -
Evening everyone, i have had a lovely day, DD2 bought me a Chocolate Tasting and Prosecco deal for my birthday and we went today, mmmmmm lets just say i very slightly went over my daily syns  probably my monthly syns  and also had 2 glasses of prosecco as DD2 was driving :rotfl:it was in a lovely cafe on the river in Henley, with lovely staff, i felt very comfortable (you know what i am like). I am doing a list of 50 things to do that are either out of my comfort zone, things i have always wanted to do or just fancy doing before i am 50 next october and that will go on
It was also lovely to spend quality time with DD2 without keeping an eye on thumper, we both really enjoyed it. DS bazinga pjs arrived today so i can wrap them up tomorrow when he isnt around, i have given him the lurgy now....... on his week off!
NIC blimey it doesnt feel that much quieter than previous years! Good luck with the decoupage stag, i have one too but i am going to do it in colours of my bedroom and have it up all year round, i think i may leave this until the new year
ELLIE yes i can only imagine how much they charge, at least you can make sure it is exactly what you both want doing it yourselves! Love the fact you were playing christmas songs this morning :rotfl:
MONEYMISSION haha now i pictured you being in the midlands for some reason :rotfl:student discount is fab and it all helps!
ELLIDEE thankyou for the thorntons tip, i must resist..... i must resist
CHERRY aww the robin hat sounds sweet!
FEISTY thankyou, and glad you and DH had a lovely day out for his birthday
KAYA i never used to ask for specific things but now i dont have the money to spend on myself i do tend to now off of the kids, but DS hates me doing it, and wont listen at christmas he likes to have themes for everyone and goes mad for each person, i am grateful and he really does think about it, so i let him get on with it, but birthday he does give me money to shut me up!! Plus i am at the stage where i want to declutter and not have pointless things sitting around gathering dust!
3FORTHEHOLIDAYS you crack on my lovely i dont know the first thing about starting a thread and you did a lovely job last year!!
Holidays Are Coming, Holidays Are Coming!
Santa Claus is Coming To Town
Jingle Bells
Step into Christmas
Holly Jolly Christmas
Frosty the Snowman
MURIE thankyou! oh what a shame the outlet village was a waste of time, its really annoying when you think something will be really good and its rubbish!
CROWDPLEASER
Glad you enjoyed mk Freespirit. Yes us locals all avoid primarni like the plague on match day! Haha we always do it here too when Reading are playing at home or decide to go to the big Tesco when Reading Festival finishes :rotfl:
PINKNFLUFFY i love that you make F1 models, i have too many fat fingers to do something as intricate as that but i bet its fun!

Peppa- don't be put off -the meat IS lovely. You would probably pay just as much sourcing it locally. Plus you have the satisfaction of knowing that you have the meat sorted for Christmas!
Wow- you are on a roll with chalk paint upscaling!! I would love to see a pic ( I'm a nosey so and so!). My DH is like yours- I either get something for myself or DD gets it for him and he pays her back- he even bribes her into wrapping it for him! She loves wrapping tho so that isn't a problem for her. But I do feel a bit miffed at times that he doesn't put much effort into it personally.lovin' this site!

I hope this link has worked ok. A slightly different take on 12 Days of Christmas! If you don't know who Frank Kelly is, you may recognise him as Fr Jack in Fr Ted. This is years old, but I still think it is as fresh as the first year he recorded it.A smile costs little but creates much0 -
Morning all! 64 days now...and it's nearly November!
Nic those are some good suggestions - I think most of them are in someone's signature as well lol
Kaya I love surprises which my family find really annoying so last year I did a letter to Father Christmas and gave it to my mum. That worked out well for them and I still got lots of surprises...and I got to feel like a child again writing out the list
Peppa I love being a Christmas crazy too - luckily everyone I know accepts my craziness, although they're slightly concerned what I'm going to be like from 1st November lol in M&S she just started laughing but then when the initial screeching didn't end she told me to stop being a child because people were looking lol
Ellidee thanks for the Thorntons tip, I've picked them out and they're sitting in my basket waiting to be purchased, will see how much I've spent on presents by next Saturday and then decide...but it's chocolate...so I know what will happen
Free, the chocolate tasting sounds brilliant and it's one day off of the diet so enjoy it! We've booked chocolate lovers afternoon tea in December so I'll be saving up calories now in preparation lol
I concur with the name including one of the lines for 12 days of Christmas, I like Santa Claus is coming to town though, reminds me of Elf
In terms of Christmassy things I'm very happy that M&S now have their 20% code (JJTR-2B49-QB6C-BDFL) so I'll be "wrapping up"the presents list (see what I did there!).
I have a charity dinner tonight on Park Lane so I'll have a sneaky look outside and see whether the winter wonderland preparations are underway yetI'm dreaming... of a white Christmas :snow_grin :xmassmile:rudolf:0 -
Hi everyone, I've not posted in a while but I have been reading. Been so busy with work, Christmas plans have stalled but I need to ramp it up as working 5 days a week and have only one free weekend before the main event! Will catch up with everyones news later tonight!0

morning, is it November yet? no? oh dam! just cold then, ah, well.
Peppa, yes l use wet oasis in the baskets, but l fill the bottom up with soaked shredded newspaper, then a bock of oasis, and then l force dry oasis into the corners and gaps, so that the wired items have something with more 'purchase' to hold onto. Then florists tape to hold it all in, and away you go. l am afraid l'm not tech savvy, Feisty, so will have to try to get someone to put photos on for me.
No good trying to teach me how to do it, cos l'm stupid with that side of stuff.
Have been asked to do the flowers for fave cousins son and partners wedding next year, everything from buttonholes, table decs, room decs and bouquets, (she wants gladioli which will be a challenge, but l am so delighted to be asked to do it, even if terrified!).0
