Glad you had a good time Free and hope you've had a lovely day with Thumper. Yes Central Milton Keynes is usually pretty busy at the weekends but quieter during the week. Very annoying that parking at the centre is now very expensive (£2 an hour in premium spaces) but fortunately (if you see what I mean) DH has a blue badge so we don't have to pay (although there was talk about changing that a while ago). I live in a village about 8 miles outside MK so it's quieter where I live. I must say I usually go to Bletchley or the out of town retail parks cos that's where The Range, Home Bargains and B&M are :D.

Yes i thought it was expensive parking but we went halves on it so it wasnt so bad, unfortunately we chose exactly the wrong time to visit the big primark at the out of town retail park as there was a match on at the stadium so getting in, parking and getting out was an absolute nightmare but we werent in any hurry to get anywhere so we werent that worried

Thanks for the well wishes on behalf of my brother. It has been hard but like I said it's good to see him improving.

On the Xmas front, I've been in home bargains today and found some lovely small fabric gift bags with santa on for 79p each. Have bought 4 for the kids and I'm going to fill them with their favourite chocs and sweets instead of buying them selection boxes.

Had a nice weekend. The kids were still on holiday so we went to the park and a the big garden centre nearby to see all the christmas decs. We have had such nice weather the last week.

I found a craft your own Stag kit from Home maker mag last year that I hadn't done. So off to make a hot chocolate and have a go at decoupage and see if I can build it up. Will catch up on the thread too x

    Good morning Christmas crazies :)
I had to listen to Christmas songs on the way to work this morning, it was so wintry and had to be done! I'll try and restrain myself until November now...I'm feeling particularly festive, even bought some presents from Amazon on the way!
We caved last night and turned on the heating it was so lovely and warm and I forgot what warm towels were like lol but the OH said he was too hot during the night with the fleecy winter quilt so heating's off again until one of us acquires frost bite lol
Cherry I clicked on the Derby Christmas market website and it made me very jealous, Derby is nowhere near me so I'll have to make do with the Southbank markets!
Free we are organising it ourselves as the wedding planners were extortionate, it means more stress but more MSE. Glad you had a nice day with Thumper :) Sounds like you had a good weekend despite a few frustrating parts! It's good you didn't let the little annoying things ruin the trip.
Everyone has been talking about B&M it's making me desperate to go. MUST NOT GO UNTIL NOVEMBER! I'm starting to have dreams about the Range as well....
Oh and thank you to whoever mentioned the half price M&S shortbread I picked some up yesterday...and there was a Christmas tree in M&S!!!!! I freaked out slightly and started squealing and jumping, much to my friend's embarrassment lol
    I'm dreaming... of a white Christmas :snow_grin :xmassmile:rudolf:

  • Here's the link SD and Feisty, http://www.next.co.uk/homeware/christmas-home/decorations-lights/16

They're from next so a little expensive but they arrived yesterday and they are very pretty. I ordered the ones with the white flowers in, but they do red flowers too or plain green !!!!! with lights in. The only thing I would say is, they are slightly smaller than I thought they would be, but not so much smaller that I would send them back. I guess it depends on how big you want them on your front porch, but for me I think they'll be fine :)

GTQ - that's nuts, you would never think somebody would steal something like a nectar card. But I guess more and more people are using loyalty cards these days so it's just there for the taking. Plus they obviously got lucky with yours because you had so much on it, I wonder if it was somebody who knew how much you had on there, otherwise they could have ended up stealing somebody's card with only a few pence on it?? I'm going to be careful with mine now because I've got about £50 on there at the moment and due another £100 from an introductory offer from Amex. I'm glad you got it all sorted out though.

    Thanks for the link.

I see Tesco have some Christmassy hanging baskets too - somewhat cheaper than the Next ones :
