queenlizard - Thanks. I did look in Tesco's hot chocolate section today but didn't see any. If my memory wasn't so terrible I might remember which shop they were in!“In 900 years of time and space, I’ve never met anyone who wasn’t important”

Weeclick - What terrible service! Sorry they ruined your evening for you.
Just popping in to ask if anyone has seen those hot chocolate on sticks/spoons things anywhere. I'm sure I've seen them in a shop recently but I can't for the life of me remember where!
Off to do the weekly shop today so will have a look how the seasonal ailse is coming along.
Matalan had some chocolate spoon/stirrers in their Christmas bit x:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0 -
I've had a bit of a bad week. My Dad has been diagnosed with lymphoma. He had such a sore back for months and could hardly walk, so they got him in for a CT and blood tests. He has been admitted to hospital just now as he needed strong painkillers and he lives on his own. When he called me to tell me he was in hospital, it was exactly 4 years to the day that my mum got diagnosed with breast cancer and went into hospital. She died a year later after going through all the treat ment, so it's been hard hearing this. But my dad is positive.
I went to Matalan last week, was so impressed with their Christmas stuff. I could have bought half the shop. Love so many cushions, throws and decorations. I ended up getting 3 tartan boxes meant for gifts. But I plan to give them to the kids as memory boxes. My eldest DD loves collecting train tickets and pebbles from holidays etc. they are nice strong boxes. And I have a thing for tartan.
I'm hoping to back after payday and pick up a few nice bits for the house.:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0 -
So sorry to hear about your Dad Nic. xIt's the most wonderful timeof the year :0

Evening everyone,
SPRINGDREAMS oh well done on getting so many chocs, i never got to a Morrisons this weekendmind you i keep telling myself we dont need them
BBROSIE do you mean quality or the actual pattern/pictures? I have to say the best quality i have bought for years was stuff from M&S, second best was some i got from Wilko the other year, worst quality i have had is from the studio catalogue, actually now i have thought about it, it wasnt the worst was from Sainsburys last year it looked gorgeous red and white stripe (candy cane looking) omg it was truly awful. The nicest patterns i tend to find in most shops at least one i fall in love with hth
MSGIGGLEWICK its fab isnt it? yes that has happened to me before two deliveries on the same day???
CLUMSY i hope the studying went well today!
CHERRY oh that was a good saving on the dvds!
MURIE oh my lovely i am so sorry to hear you have been having a rough time, you must have both been worried sick waiting to hear and then hearing that DH would be made redundant, but what fabulous news he has already been offered another job it must be such a weight off of your minds. I always think christmas/new year is the worst time to be worried about job security because of the expense, and starting off a new year out of work must be so disheartening. I am glad DS likes his new job and hope DD has sorted her car problem out, we worry so much for them dont we? I hope that it is good news for your mum and is something that can be helped with the right medication. BUT today has been a good day for you which helps a lot doesnt it? Thankyou, i am really enjoying it (unbelieveably) and last month i had lost 16lb so it has spurred me on even more
NIC oh im so sorry my lovely to hear about your dad, you must be so worried and it must bring back a lot of bad memories, its good that he sounds positive though! Keep strong and we are all here for you if you need to offload!

Hello lovely , thanks I love this thread and you guys x We have said either go out for dinner or maybe have exactly what we both want for Xmas dinner not so sure yet. I want to make this December super special for mum as for the whole of December last year I was in hospital till gone 4pm Xmas eve and also like I said my brother is away for the first time ever and since my dad left four years ago my auntie has been here every Xmas but she won't be this year so all a bit strange really xxI've had a bit of a bad week. My Dad has been diagnosed with lymphoma. He had such a sore back for months and could hardly walk, so they got him in for a CT and blood tests. She doesnt have a hobby and I would love to get her in to something , I know this post isnt helpful lol. xNanMias - cyber granddaughter!

Well here I am, at silly o'clock, really tired but can't sleep so just made myself a cup of Redbush tea and watching 'A Different Kind of Christmas' that I recorded a week or so ago. I've seen it lots of times but it's easy watching and very very Christmassy so it's ok with me lol.
JJ - following on from an earlier conversation, how about a special Christmas tree decoration as part of your Mum's pressie? You could start a tradition where you buy her one every year. I don't mean one with the date on or anything (unless that's what you want) but one that will be special and she can enjoy every year.
Murie, welcome back and congratulations to DS and DH on the new jobs - I'm a great believer in one door closes and another one opens...... Hope everything is ok for your Mum.
Free - we can't buy chocs for Christmas until just before the big day because we eat them (same with Easter eggs at Easter)
While laying in bed trying to get back to sleep I have decided on Primarni vouchers for the older grandchildren - I'm sure they never really actually want the pressies and I know vouchers will be much appreciated. It feels like a bit of a cop out really but then if I'm buying present because I like buying them and not because they like receiving them then isn't that a bit silly? Yep - vouchers it is!
Going to get littlest DGS (2) a Minions beanbag and bought a pair of Heelies for DGD (age 6) which are what she wants although I'm fairly sure she won't be able to stand up in them (balance isn't really her strength lol). Bought them for £20 off the local FB selling page (brand new price is £50:eek:)- they've only been tried on indoors because the lady's daughter couldn't balance on them either and now her feet have grown and they wouldn't fit anyway so a bargain for me. Going to update my Christmas spreadsheet now and then drink my tea. Who knows, I might even get another hour's sleep before it's time to get up!!!It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0 -
Morning everyone!
Freespirit- bl**dy hell woman! 16lbs in one month??? That is fantastic- you should be so proud of yourself! I bet you feel better in yourself as well too? Seriously- that's brilliant x Thumper sounds like he is growing a lovely little man- a testament to his nan eh?
JJ- you continue to amaze and inspire me with your determination and strength! How open Uni going by the way?
Princesskitty- I cant believe wiggle is one!So glad you are enjoying being at home with him. I was lucky enough to be in a position to stop work and stay at home when I had my kids. It did have massive advantages but it can be kind of isolating, so well done on keeping up normality,
Peppa- I know the feeling about being up at silly o clock hours! I've got to say though that I find its the best part of the day for me, when I can centre myself sort out my head and prepare for the day ahead. How's your bike riding going?
Nic- Im sorry about your dad x
On the Christmas front I think Im nearly done! Kids are sorted- DD asked for a watch which I brought from America, paid for mostly with paypal monies from postal surveys I do. Got it £50 cheaper than over here so I'm chuffed. Also brought her a 1/4ct pair of gold diamond earring from Argos £24.99 - must have been a misprice cus they are really good quality diamonds, Silver ones are more expensive! (I used a £5 voucher from guividan so they only cost me £19.99!) Im on a roll with her pressies! DS is having a chromecast , aftershave etc and money so he is sorted too. Just bits and pieces to get really. DH is having a passport hard drive which I used clubcard double vouchers on so actually paid £8 for, and a power bank for his phone- cost £2.99 from Iceland of all places! The rest is going to be money as a contribution to a new TV ( which he HAD to have early to watch the rugby on lol!) MOM said she doesn't want 'stuff' so she is having some leather mittens she asked for and a crafting folder and inserts for her cutting dies, and again I will pop some money in her card. Ive even got the turkey crown and gammon joint! If Christmas came tomorrow- I would be ready! I have never been this organised!lovin' this site!
