Evening everyone, popped out today to get a few bits, i couldnt get the matalan code to work last night after sitting choosing £30 quids worth  so decided to nip in today and just get the christmas plate, bowl and cup and wrapping paper for him for..... next christmas :rotfl::rotfl:and they had none of it grrr next i went to Poundland they didnt have what i went in for except for WD40 but managed to get DS advent calendar and a box of malteasers each for their stockings, but disappointed there was no christmas bits out at all. Then popped to Boots for DD1 who thought she had £11 on her points card and wanted hair dye and hairspray, i got those and noticed they were doing 3 for 2 on all hair stuff so got her another hair dye went to pay and she was 30 points short
so the dopey SA said well why dont you pay for two with points and then pay with cash for the other item, i said "errr that means i dont get my free item":o she said "oh yeah never thought of that" :rotfl::rotfl:so anyway paid for it on my card. Iceland next to get some LF mince and SW burgers, no LF mince to be found grrrrr  so i popped into Card Factory and got my personal cards, twas lovely and empty no christmas pushing and shoving!!!! Then it was Tescos and by then i just wanted to get home as fast as i could, so a few more things off of my list but at the same time annoying not getting the bits i wanted!!
JJ aww thankyou honey how are you?
LAZYSHEEP yes i am waiting for the offers for stocking chocolates etc as well
PRINCESSKITTY oh no how flaming annoying that they broke it, i hope you can get your christmas spreadsheet back argghh i would be mad too! I have to tell you this i found it so funny, DD2 was walking into town with Thumper in his buggy and he had his Mickey Mouse oufit on inc a black hat with ears (he looked so cute) and DD2 noticed people staring as they walked past and thought aww they think hes cute too, but then after a few more she thought mmm they are looking at him weird so looked down at him and the hat had fallen down over his eyes and he was just sitting there!!! Didnt try to get it off or moan or anything and when DD2 lifted it up he just giggled!!! Hope DH is enjoying his new job!
PEPPAPIG oh blimey i cant remember the last time i backed my lappy up
CHERRY aww they will be lovely keepsakes for the future, it is true when you get christmas stuff out it always brings back memories of the person you bought it for or they bought for you
HARIBO oh im so sorry to hear about your dad passing, this year will be full of firsts, your mum might change her mind the nearer it gets to christmas and she starts remembering how much your dad enjoyed it all
CLUMSY hi and welcome to our thread glad you have come out of lurkdom to join us
QUIDSY funnily enough i was talking to someone today who said exactly the same thing, she cant wait for this year to go!

morning, sorry have been absent, will get my excuse letter in very soon.
lots of lovely newbies very warm welcome to you all.
JJ so pleased you are back posting, out to Christmas lunch is one of my bucket list items.
l have been busy jam making this week, plum, strawberry and bramble and apple, there is so much fruit about, and sugar is only 39p at Ald* DGS has been chief fruit tree climber, next week is chutney and jelly week, then pickles.
They will go into the food hampers too, keeping costs down,
Also been knitting and crocheting in the evenings as my friend has asked me to knit some tops for her grandson, and another friends daughter is having a nib in march, and my lovely greatniece has had her daughter so busy time all round.
Back up data? eh? whassat about?
Have got some lego in the 342 argoose offer, so some of the grandnibs presents nabbed there. Next sale was a bit disappointing, as was the M&S one, or am l getting over picky?
My DGN has sold her house, and hasn't got one in her sights, so they will be moving in with me until they find a new home, so lots of baby cuddles and baths and oooooooo everything for me. And the Chinese branch are coming for Christmas, we will be a bit crowded, but l am so looking forward to it.
l will try not to be absent again, as the posts are really piling in, and l don't want to miss owt.0 -

Cherry Sorry for your loss thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Well its moving day today and I should be flapping about as I gt the keys at 12 and still have next to nothing packed!! Ive to stay in the apartment until 6pm tonight too waiting for virgin to install and then I have the Ireland rugby match so Im pretty much still until 8pm and need certain stuff moved in tonight ready for work in the morning!!
Went shopping yesterday (admittedly for house stuff) but couldnt resist popping into matalans - 3 staff were building up the christmas section but there was about 4 shelves worth out already and Im soooo excited! Mum was with so pointed out a few things "santa" might want to get me and the OH this year lmao!! :T
Forgot how expensive it is to start from scratch again! Blew half of our very small budget and only got the essentials to move in today for me, still no plates or cutlery, dads going to have to go to argos to get our duvet cover - reality is very daunting but Im enjoying it!
As for the health the doctor thinks I might be coeliac its the only test weve not had back yet and everything else was clear so im on a gluten free diet this weekend to see if it improves any and if not ive to book in for a camera test next week
Anyway hugs to everyone and looking forward to seeing more christmassy posts! Best get up and start packing!!Life is what you make it.0 -
Thank you for the warm welcome everyone! Peppapig - It's a very descriptive name. I have ME so I'm super clumsy!
I need to get my sister's birthday present out of the way before I start on the proper christmas shopping. Her birthday is next month. Thinking about making her a pamper hamper (very pleasing rhyme!). So I've made a list: face masks, hair masks, foot soak, fluffy bed socks, chocolates, hot chocolates and mini mallows. lipbalm etc. Need to raid the local cheap shops!“In 900 years of time and space, I’ve never met anyone who wasn’t important”

freespirit ahhhh it's so frustrating when you have a shopping trip planned then there's nothing there! Aw bless Thumper! How cute and funny. It reminded me of when Wiggle was little and he had a bib on, I'd lie him down on his play mat and go and do something, then when I'd come back his bib would be over his face! But not only would he not be crying but he'd still be trying to reach for the toys hanging over him!
weeclick I'm so glad you got the apartment you wanted, I hope you manage to get everything you need. How exciting!0 -
Hi Haribo - I'm sorry for your loss. I'm sure you will manage to make sure your mum has the best Christmas that she can at this time.
Welcome Clumsy - I mentioned Christmas to a couple of people yesterday and they didn't look too impressed - I think they're used to it with me though. Anyway, this is the best place to be for lots of Christmas chat.
Peppa - Yes, I like having decorations with special meanings. My MIL collects them and whenever anyone goes on holiday they bring her one back and she always likes to explain the story behind them.
My grandad made his own nativity stable out of wood - it must be 50 years old and they always had it out every year. I'm going to make sure that no one throws it away as it would be such a shame.
quidsy - Yeah, 2015 has been a shocker for some people. I'm going to make sure that Christmas this year is fab despite this but 2016 would be a welcome change (hopefully). Condolences regarding your best friend.
Free - Oh no, seems like you had a hectic shopping day! At least it was now and not in December when shops are horrendous to navigate and get what you want.
Hi Weeclick - Thank youHope the move went well.

weeclick good luck with the move sounds very exciting and the matalan stuff is so lovely not suprised you pointed stuff out.
freespirit sounds like a stressful shopping trip hopefully as shops get more xmas stock should be easier to find what we want.
cherryI love the idea of decorations that mean something will be lovely every year to open them and have some nice memories.
mrsinvisible sounds like you have been very busy!! Good luck with it all.
So I clearly couldn't spell when I rushed posted this morning apologies for the gibberish haha.so I looked at boots range while on lunch and ended up buying 3 token gifts and going to consider some other things im there. Don't usually buy from there as the price is sometimes a bit high but saw loads I loved.

Thanks for the thoughts people. It's going to be a tough time this Christmas without him but I'm going to do my best to make it a good one in his memory and mum is coming to us boxing day instead of us all going there.
Nipped to home bargains today and had a look down their Xmas aisle. Not much out in mine but managed to pick up some hessian bunting with the letters of Christmas spelled out. Thought it would look nice on my wall and for 2.99 I couldn't leave it there.0 -
Hope you've had a good day weeclick and that things have run smoothly. Hope you'll both be very happy in your new home0
