Welcome back JJ - lovely to hear from you again. That's a great idea to go out for lunch if it'll just be the two of you but book early - all the good places are already getting booked up!
Welcome to the thread LadyMorticia - you're not too late, plenty of time left yet.
Free - I think True Movies are doing Christmas movies from 5 p.m. at the weekends but the proper Christmas movie season hasn't started yet.
Been watching Countdown to Christmas on QVC on and off all day - haven't spent any money although have been tempted a few times. I thought it was much better this time than last - and there's another day tomorrow! :j
Don't forget to keep your eyes peeled for special offers on Ferrero Rocher please folksIt's the most wonderful timeof the year :0 -
Thank you for the warm welcome.
Our local range has got a fair amount of xmas things on display. My little boys favourite being a large singing santa.
I've been checking out the coca cola website in the hope the truck will be in cornwall again this year. Missed out last year because of diagnosis.
I've 3 of my children's birtbdays b4 xmas. Nephews 1st birthday next month and a grandchild due in 4weeks.
Busy times ahead
Must sort through the attic and my wardrobe to see what I've actually got. Have made lists for cards I need to buy and lists of ideas for boys stockings. Always find boys hardest to buy for.
Sure I still have some wrapping paper from last year.0 -

Check out argos for starter guitars. Ive been playing since I was in my teens and studied at college - my niece who is 7 has just started lessons and we got her the starter pack from argos I personally think its great quality and a good way to start - if its something she wants to keep up and progress with then we will invest in something a little more
never too late to join!! Welcome
Not much to report today really, a rubbish day in work thats had me question peoples trust but not letting it bring me down Ive a gorgeous girlfriend moving 300 miles to be with me and a room full of boxes to sort! Which is exactly what Im doing - sorting out the last few boxes that were stored at my grandparents - a few things have been listed on gumtree and ill list them on my local fb page as well and hope they shift before I move!!
Ive already had someone contact me on gumtree about a ring I was selling, lives in England so wants to post me a postal order for the ring plus extra for postage - guess that can only be a good thing but I always worry about handing out addresses too!
Has anyone else noticed the sudden change in weather this week? Its been bitter cold! Im sat in my room in my parents trying to sort my bits out and im FREEZING Ive asked dad to stick the heating on and he said it is on!!! ouch!! lol.
Ive decided Im definitely making the family hampers again this year although a little awkward as my parents are split up (even though they still live together and share the house until they put it up for sale) so will have to make individual smaller ones this year!
Im going to ask my OH to draw a picture of me and my sister from our childhood photos and get that framed to give her for xmas so really will only cost me the price of a frame and a nice gift bag! ( i love the fact Im going to be living with an artist!!)
Anyway better go and research prices before I add the rest to gumtree! Roll on mid October when all the stress of moving and buying house bits is over and I can truly focus on all things santa claus lol
Be very very careful about posting anything that you sell on gumtree, huge area for scammers! Just triple check everything first and I would also Google the wording and any other info given in your convo with this person. Sorry, not being paranoid, just Gumtree is notorious for this.2 angels in heaven :A0 -
Hi everyone, I'm finally going to join in after reading this thread for the last two years and picking up on lots of tips from you all
I can hardly start talking about how excited I am for Christmas with 'normal' people because, well it's September! I'm joining because someone wanted a deal on Ferrero Rocher and I just saw in the Superdrug Christmas catalog they have the Collection (white/ dark/ milk) for £3.50 and the Giant Rocher for £4.50, which is a £1 off each...It's 3 months today until Christmas - yay!
I'm dreaming... of a white Christmas :snow_grin :xmassmile:rudolf:0 -
Thank you to all who gave great suggestions for an elderly lady with cancer. Unfortunately my lovely nan passed away a couple of days ago on the day of my grandad's funeral.
The suggestions were very much appreciated with quite a few that I hadn't seen before so thank you.
Ocado sent me an email regarding delivery slots that can be booked from 5th Nov and it said that their Christmas shop is now open.
Started on my OH's stocking with a couple of gifts. We have a budget of £70 and only have £23 left so will have to look for bargains.
I'm thinking of purchasing a Playmobil advent calender for my nephews, does anyone have any experience of these?0 -
Cherry so sorry to read of your Nans passing, my deepest condolences.SPC~12 ot 124

I was looking at the matalan website last night and that's finally given me a kick up the snow butt lol!
Some lovely little stocking fillers in there and not too pricey wither so going to do a shop there on payday.
Thanks all in regards to welcome backs and concern for my son, i really appreciate it. He's a trooper so just battles through everything...puts me to shame really.
I'm going to get my ingredients for Christmas cakes this weekend and soak the fruit next week.
Decided i spend WAY too much on Christmas etc and need to rein myself in a bit...i just get so excited!! I'm making my dad and brother Christmas food hampers this year, i'll make them a cake each, thinking of going to b&m etc and buying little foodie items...not spending a lot, it's the thought that counts.
Only buying a few gifts this year-bar the kids obviously...hubby needs jeans and hankies that kinda stuff...his birthday is 1st jan and mine the 30th dec so i've brought us a big birthday present and we are going on a spa weekend, he doesn't know so will be a big surprise for him...cost a fortune but saved up all year for it. Can't wait!!!
Welcome all the newbies on the thread-i look forward to getting to know you all.Don't tell me this nothing...this is my nothing0
