Evening all!
I got a nice little piece of post from Boots today inviting me to their instore Christmas gift guide preview - 1st October in my local store (Brighton) if that helps anyone! The Boots gift guide always seems to be one of the first out, so it feels like the official start of the Christmas shopping period (for normal people... I personally have no issue with making a start on 27th December, but you know)
I've actually just spotted something I'm going to buy for a friend's birthday (in March, over six months away!), so I'm feeling super organised tonight! I just wish it wasn't a whole week left until payday...0 -
Another present has arrived today so I can tick that off my list now. Need to have a dig in and on top of my wardrobe now to make sure I have all the pressies in one place. It's getting a bit ridiculous as I can't shut the door at the moment so I need to organise them some how.0

and put together and wrap DS movie night hamper, i did a bit of crafting though
PEPPAPIG well you will have to have a christmas film marathon this weekend wont you???:D:D Have they started already or were these just a one off?
DOODYGIRL thankyou for that, oh gawd i could have bought loads for Thumper but i really shouldnt i have finished his birthday and christmas presents so need to keep my purse firmly shut!!
BBROSIE yes my DD2 had to do that there werent nearly half enough balls for it
LEMONADEMONEY were you successful with the amazon £10 offer? Its nice to get one whole part of christmas out of the way isnt it? No i still love the catalogue but enjoy browsing online too
QUEENLIZARD ooh that sounds quite nice actually
HARIBO ooh that just believe sign sounds nice
WEECLICK thank god you arent still with the ex, much better for your health!! Glad you have found someone who treats you so much better and hope you will both be very happy in your new home! I hope the results of the tests come back quickly it must be a big worry as well as everything else going on!
LAZYSHEEP how lucky are you only being 10 mins walk away from the Range?
MONEYMISSION do you know when the chocolate offer ends? Probably before i can get to a morrisons knowing my luck
POOKLE i always find it hard to make up my mind about buying electricals early as they have to sit for so long and i worry that something might not work and then i cant take it back because i have had it for so long!!
Online it says that you have to order by 27/09/15 to get the offer, so it must be ending shortly after that but I'm not sure on the actual date.
Its difficult with electricals isn't it, I know in the past some electricals have sold out quickly. It annoys me when people buy loads of them to sell on for a quick profit. I just think this time of year it's unfair on some parents who can't get hold of them and then have to decide between paying over the odds buying from ebay or something, or not being able to get their kids what they asked for.0 -
Afternoon. Getting ready for another busy weekend. They seem to come round really quick.
Looking forward to payday tomorrow so I can buy a few bits for the kids I spotted. I'm not making the same mistake as everyother year. Not buying when I see them, then they are gone or I forget.
I still need to get DS (8) a guitar. He wants a proper acoustic one. He only ever had a toy one before. And still on the lookout for a decent 2nd hand bike for DD (10). The wee one doesn't want anything specific, she just loves wee playsets with small animals or characters to play with.
I am starting to get the anxiety I get as Christmas gets closer and pay days get fewer. I'm already on a very tight budget and still 3 family birthdays before the end of November. Last year I used Littlewoods as a back up. But find they are so overpriced that it doesn't save me, so I'm avoiding them this year.:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0 -
Nic aldi sometimes have good basic guitar packages so it's worth keeping a check on their new email, Ds1 got started with one of theirs, and he regularly plays at open miss etc nowSPC~12 ot 124

Christmas shopping has really come on now. It seems once I buy the first thing the flood gates open.
Freespirit66-The matalan I went looked like it had all the Christmas stock out it could fit in. But there's loads online that wasn't in the shop. Went to another one that's right near my work today and it was rubbish compared to the other one. It only had one little display. But the quality of the stuff was fantastic. I think that even if I order online, based on what I've seen the shop, I'll like everything.
Ordered dd2 a christmas nightie from m and s, bought dd2 some toys ftom the argos 3 for 2. Also got each dd a reduced pencil case each for their stockings in the disney shop and then finished it off with an impulse spray each for their stockings.
I know what everyone means about the electronics. Dd1 is having a laptop and dd2 a ps4. My plan is to buy them maybe November time unless I see an absolute bargain that I can't turn down.
My next job is to buy all of my special cards from the card factory when I get paid next week.March 2014 Grocery challenge £250.000 -
Hello you lovely lot.
I am feeling really Christmassy today because I have officially started Christmas prep.
Got my mum a book , foot pedi egg type thing and bed socks for her stocking. I have also started wrapping them.
Christmas will be weird this year as my brother has moved out. Its a long complicated story. We have decided if its just us for Xmas this year then we will go out for Xmas dinner.
Hugs to all.
p.s these yankee advent calanders , where and what price can I get them from as mum is a diabetic now so wanted to get her a nice spin off advent type thing.
Also poundland has frozen Xmas decs in and small boxes of cadburies biscuits xNanMias - cyber granddaughter!

Check out argos for starter guitars. Ive been playing since I was in my teens and studied at college - my niece who is 7 has just started lessons and we got her the starter pack from argos I personally think its great quality and a good way to start - if its something she wants to keep up and progress with then we will invest in something a little moreLadyMorticia wrote: »I wish I had known about this thread before now.I love Christmas but feel weird joining in so late.
never too late to join!! Welcome
Not much to report today really, a rubbish day in work thats had me question peoples trust but not letting it bring me down Ive a gorgeous girlfriend moving 300 miles to be with me and a room full of boxes to sort! Which is exactly what Im doing - sorting out the last few boxes that were stored at my grandparents - a few things have been listed on gumtree and ill list them on my local fb page as well and hope they shift before I move!!
Ive already had someone contact me on gumtree about a ring I was selling, lives in England so wants to post me a postal order for the ring plus extra for postage - guess that can only be a good thing but I always worry about handing out addresses too!
Has anyone else noticed the sudden change in weather this week? Its been bitter cold! Im sat in my room in my parents trying to sort my bits out and im FREEZING Ive asked dad to stick the heating on and he said it is on!!! ouch!! lol.
Ive decided Im definitely making the family hampers again this year although a little awkward as my parents are split up (even though they still live together and share the house until they put it up for sale) so will have to make individual smaller ones this year!
Im going to ask my OH to draw a picture of me and my sister from our childhood photos and get that framed to give her for xmas so really will only cost me the price of a frame and a nice gift bag! ( i love the fact Im going to be living with an artist!!)
Anyway better go and research prices before I add the rest to gumtree! Roll on mid October when all the stress of moving and buying house bits is over and I can truly focus on all things santa claus lolLife is what you make it.0 -

Nobody is too late to join the Christmas chatter - we are just getting going. Don't feel awkward about joining in as we are very friendly!A good life is when you assume nothing, do more, need less, smile often, dream big, laugh a lot, and realise how blessed you are.
