Oh forgot to say- mom and I are putting together and getting lil sis a kitchen aid from an outlet in Belgium. Its a factory second with 2 year guarantee with just a few minor marks in the paint work £190! Its an amazing price and she will be over the moon with it. I predict tears from her on Boxing day when she opens it (in a good way).

I have been scouring the freebies thread for bargains and have come across a member who finds amazing bargains ( and I really do mean amazing- dunno how they do it!) on Amazon. I don't know if I am supposed to do this but if you look for a member called Tagatose, have a look at what they find. I have been putting some stuff in the shoe box appeal I am doing.

Clumsy42- I brought the chocolate stirrers from Morrisons last year for advent calendars- everyone said they tasted awful, so you might want to avoid getting them from there. I think they were about 75p

  • Morning everyone, i am so organised this morning (shock, horror!!) that while Thumper has his nap i thought i would come on here :)

JJ well anything you do in December this year will be fantastic after last year!! Aww it will be different this year wont it just the two of you, just make it a really lovely girly day, with treats for you both, knowing you only have to please yourselves and noone else!! Would your mum like a nice pretty diary for her handbag in her stocking? A nice book? as MRSMONEYPENNY says both Carole Matthews and Trisha Ashley both have christmas books coming out and they are always fantastic. HTH Ooh just thought as something to go with the foot pedi, have you seen the foot massager/cleaning things that stick to the bottom of your bath when you are in the shower, and you put some soap/showergel on them and rub your feet on them, they are dead cheap and feel fantastic, my DD1 brought me one the other week

PEPPAPIG oh my lovely i hope you managed to get back to sleep! How is DH? I dont blame you for the voucher idea, i would love to buy my nieces and nephews actual presents but i know deep down they prefer the money i give them so i just go with it! Those presents sound fantastic for your grandchildren

OH HAVE TO GO THUMPER HAS JUST WOKE UP I WILL BE BACK TO FINISH LATER HAHA

  • Freespirit - It didn't go brilliantly! I'm having a hard time concentrating probably because of the ME. I'm going to experiment with turning my computer screen off so I can't distract myself further with internet browsing. ;)

Thanks for all the hot chocolate stick finds everyone. Murie - I'll stay away from Morrisons then!

Probably wont get up to anything christmassy today. So much studying to do. Hope everyone else has a lovely day. :)

  • I know what you mean Freespirit sometimes voucher code complications stop us from spending - although if you left items in your bag Matalan usually email with a discount code so look out for that. Also 16lbs! Congratulations...and what's your secret?! lol

The peel the sprout thing sounds like a good idea but it reminds me of sprout roulette my mum got last year at christmas and I ended up eating 2 of the 4 sprouts and they were revolting!

Oh Cherry that sounds lovely, hope you manage to go on Saturday - it sounds like you could use a holiday

Sorry to hear about people going through tough times atm :(

Murie you are super organised it's making me feel bad that I have so much to do. I usually wait until Oct/Nov to buy people's main presents just in case they want to return anything, so I've only got the smaller presents so far. It's so nice in December though, having already bought everything and just going shopping feeling very pleased with myself looking at everyone else panicking!

JJ as a stocking gift for your mum you could maybe get her some pampering products? Especially if Christmas day is going to be a girly day just the 2 of you maybe you could get some face masks, new nail polish, hair mask, bath salts, body scrub etc. They'll be quite reasonable price-wise but not sure if that would be her sort of thing?
    I'm dreaming... of a white Christmas :snow_grin :xmassmile:rudolf:
  • Murieglad things are turning around for you.
NicSorry to hear about your Dad. Hope the doctors are on the ball and can get him what he needs.
Free16 lbs is outstanding - well done you!
JJnew purse, gloves, mascara, lip balm, hair clip, woolly tights, slipper sox, face/eye cream, camisole, umbrella, fridge magnet with a photograph shot of you both. Take care of yourself.
  • Hi, i’m casually sneaking back in after being awol for ages.
Basically had a year that does not need repeating but I have got through it with extra special help from CHRISSYG
Getting back on track now, have everything in hand for DS presents, main pressie 3d printer (just need wrapping) and Teddy will get her new bed.
    quick update
Not moved, lots of work being done instead
DS no op yet, Physio forgot to send papers 2 and half years later and he now needs a walker and wheelchair etc not good street cred for an eighteen year old (hence him getting extra special present).
Took six months off anti depressants, back on them now but more in control

Loads more but happy to lose myself on here instead
  • Pinksteps sounds rough - hope things will start to turn around fully for you. Fingers crossed.
  • Received some deliveries this morning - does anyone else end up with copious amounts of cardboard delivery boxes during the run up to Christmas?

I watched 'How about you' the other night which is a Christmas film that got me in the mood. I'd seen it before and nearly didn't watch it as it is about elderly people in a residential facility at Christmas and thought it might set my emotions going but I was ok and it is a lovely film.

Murie - I'm sorry you've been having a tough time but glad things are starting to look up. Hope everything works out for your mum.

Nic - Sorry about your dad - it's good to hear that he is staying positive. Hope all goes well with his treatment.

Junior - I have a few unusual ideas for stocking fillers:
    Design your own perfume set
Jurassic Jewellery - I've bought the mars dust and moon dust necklaces before for presents

Not really a stocking filler but an unusual hobby that I took up recently - Stone carving starter kit

Peppa - Crikey - that was an early post :)

Ellie - Thank you. We should find out today or tomorrow regarding whether we will be able to go or not so just have to wait and see.

Pinksteps - Sorry to hear you had a bad year - welcome back and hope things will start to look up soon.
