Frugal Frump to Fab - 2015

Sorr ladies no Fab Friday for me either.
The lurgy has well and truly landed. Coughing, sneezing, spluttering, shivering. I might be able to fling on some clothes but I need to crawl out of bed first......:o
I think we can safely say it's a sofa day, throws, warm fire with the cat on my knee for extra snuggles. He's lying at my feet now.....
Warm drinks, magazines and Netflix.......
I feel terrible so the only Fabbing will be lip salve and Vaseline on my poor sore nose. I'm not sure I can even bear to comb my hair, my head hurts so much:rotfl:
Woe is me.......0 -
Sorry to hear about the poorlies, Get well soon!
I'm much the same forgetting handcream cw, but I am improving. We live in an old house with traditional round door handles. I've often got myself stuck in the bathroom after creaming my hands as I can't get a grip (????). I've had to use a towel or get DH to rescue me.:D
I am doing fab Friday. I've done all the basics and will do make up later. We're off to the theatre tonight to see this

It should be a bit of light hearted fun.
People don't seem to dress up for the theatre any more. Not that I've been to Covent Garden but London theatres are full of tourists who are dressed for sight seeing. I try to be reasonably smart but always with comfy shoes if I'm having a day in London. Locally it seems people make a bit of an effort but not opera coats or anything like that! I'm wearing my smart black jeans that I wore to cinema. I might change into a skirt later, depends how I feel. We're going for a pub meal beforehand so don't want to be too dressed up.
Hope everyone has a good day, even if you are lying on the sofa!!0 -
I have had a really busy and therefore fabbed up week, 3 meals out if I include taking all necessary to Mum's and cooking her a nice lunch for her birthday, she has been poorly and not up to going out. Thank goodness I do not have a weight problem. My poorly sore face has calmed down, not sure yet if it is natural fluctuation or the effect of the new cream, hoping for the latter:D
It was haircut week and it always feels nice when trimmed and a "bit sharper looking"
The "nasty" investigation appointments have come through, all 3 for March, so although not looking forward to them, hopefully will have some answers before too long:eek:
LL - so sorry that the lergy has caught up with you, when a friend's husband died her GP told her that her immune system would probably take a hit and that she might well catch lots of nasty bugs for the next year or so, he was very right:( I do hope that you feel better soon. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. Evening fabbers,
LL get well soon, you have my sympathy, mine only lasted 2 or 3 days everyone else had a full week to suffer.
Done all my usual fabbing this morning then it was out to the gp, went very well she is referring me to the pain clinic so i can get much better pain control options.
Home again for the house fabbing and DH home for lunch. Doggy duties then out for the dreaded d e n t i s t. Filling has been repaired and i was a good girl except for one tiny moment with the drill. She didn't give me any numbing jabs as she said it would only be a short few bursts into the remaining filling.
In truth i was in and fixed in less than 10 mins and only relieved of £7.20.
Have a good night ladies whatever you are all up to.
regards:j0 -
Good Morning Everyone - or should it be Good Afternoon now.
Sorry to hear all the illnesses. I've not posted for a while as I've been off colour too. I got another cold sore on top of the one that had just healed and have been feeling generally run down and really really tired. Last night I fell asleep on the sofa and slept all evening, got up and went to bed and then slept through till 8am!! I woke up very briefly a couple of times but must have had at least 12 hours of sleeping.
I feel much brighter this morning and have got quite a bit done - made some homemade birthday cards, apple crumble, carrot soup and lemon curd. I'm planning a late lunch as DH won't be back till 2 and I'm then at work at 5 so thought we could at least have a proper cooked meal together at about 2.30.
I've put my favourite dress on - a Per Una that I shortened a while back to knee length and my hair looks quite good considering all I've done is comb it so I should look presentable for work tonight. I've had to change my hair appointment next week as I have a meeting booked in for work that was made after I'd booked the hair one but fortunately she could fit me in the day after.
It's lovely and sunny here and supposedly reaching 15C so quite a boost to the spirits. I've loads of bulbs coming up in both front and back gardens which look really springlike too.
Have a good weekend.

Hi all
Sorry so many of you are feeling unwell, I hope you are better soon!
I have finally picked up (as of Thursday) energy wise. On Thursday morning I got up, showered, tinted my eyebrows and lashes, plucked my eyebrows and shaved my legs, all before work.
Today I have bought myself a mascara - been thinking about it for a while. I'm not sure I like the feeling on my lashes (it is years since I have worn it) but will try to get used to it. I bought a Max Factor Masterpiece mascara on offer in Sainsburys which is the same one I used to wear many many years ago!
I have found this website: http://www.getthelabel.com/
Bought OH some Levi's for £39.99 (should've been £69.99) and a Diesel jumper for £59.99 (should've been £104.99). It's his birthday next month - Mom is paying for the jeans. Also bought him a leather jacket on eBay for £50, suspect it would've been £180 new, so feeling like I did quite well!
I have lost a little more weight and when I've worn out my current pair of jeans I may get myself some Levis too! Problem is I could quite easily spend a lot on there :rotfl:0 -
tooties glad the dentist went well, sometimes things are much easier than we think they will be.
Sorry to hear some of you are a bit poorly, I had it in January and it took a bit if shaking off. Get well soon.
I fabbed yesterday and met 2 long time friends for lunch. Then today I wend for a 2 hour bike ride. I last rode a bike about 30 years ago so feeling quite pleased with myself although sitting down is a bit uncomfortable and my legs are still like jelly.;)

Thanks for that link DD. Some great bargains on there.
I went to M&Co to look for that top but they didn't have it. The young Saturday girl tried her best but manager was really unhelpful. No they didn't have it, no they had no idea what stock they were getting in, no they didn't do click and collect. I think I'll try calling their Customer Services in the week. I'm reluctant to pay postage for something I may not like.
Reasonably fab today. Not done much apart from food shopping but it's been a beautiful day here weatherwise so that really lifted my mood. So smart casual and make up to go out and I felt good.0 -
Hi everyone,
maman I hope you find your top.
Dd265 that website looks good.
I'm back on the fabbing bandwagon. I had my haircut today. It's shorter than I like, but it will soon grow and its more manageable.
I've noticed that my skin is really bad at the moment. My skin is dehydrated and sensitive, but spotty. I tried some products for sensitive skin but I think it's made the dehydration worse, as my skin is really spotty and my mum and sister commented on it. I bought some hydrating products which I started using yesterday, plus drinking more water, so hopefully my skin will clear up.0 -
LL you have my sympathy as I had real flu about 12 years ago. My sons thought I was delirious as I was singing to the Osmonds whilst flaked out on the sofa for 3 days. Apparently the test is if you would pick up a £20 note off the floor!
Have splurged today - new dress & jacket for work, 2 pairs of print slim trousers, a couple of slim, hip length sweaters and 2 new bras...all from Primarnibut all to replenish my Kondoed wardrobe
