Evening fabbers,
Hope everyone is well, i completed my usual fabbing today.
Although my cold has gone and despite my best efforts i am growing a scabby cold sore thing under my nose!!!!!! Not happy!!!!!
Whilst eating a jaffa cake (of all things) at 4pm today i discovered i have either lost a bit of a filling or a bit off a tooth. Not happy!!!!!
Tried ringing my dentist but they were closed i will try again in the morning, terrified of the dentist. Wonder if they will treat me with giant mutant cold sore/scabby face.
hope everyone is having a better day than me.

Sorry to hear you're under the weather tooties. I've still got loads of catarrh hanging around since Christmas. Not a proper cold but really irritating. Roll on spring! I want some sun on my face.lessonlearned wrote: »Ah, sorry I got the wrong end of the stick, silly me.
I'm one of those people who like to see, feel, and touch things before I buy.
I agree about the feel of a fabric. I hate prickly, synthetic things.
No, not silly at all!! Just tired. Hope you've had a better day today.:)
I've been to see 2nd Best Marigold today and it was excellent! My friend and I had a really good time: a lovely couple of hours of escapism. Plus I got to do some good people watching while I was waiting for her to arrive. Shall we say that the film attracts people of 'a certain age'. I thought I'd walked into M&S Classic Dept. by mistake!:rotfl:
I wore my new black skinny jeans with heeled ankle boots, fawn angora sweater and my black velvet coat. Got compliments from DH as he likes me in heels and my friend liked the fit and flare shape of my coat. All welcome!0 -
I got the Glamour mag face wash - I've had it before and really like it. Interested to hear what the face mask is like sweetcheeks.
I've been sticking to the 5:2 but had a weird experience. Last night I weighed myself on the Wii fit, and it said I had lost 5lbs. It advised me I might be losing weight too quickly. I was surprised, as I didn't feel I'd lost much (maybe a pound or too). Checked again this morning (after eating only yoghurt and fruit for breakfast) and what do you know, the blooming thing is telling me I have put 5 pounds on and need to stick to my eating plan! me and that Wii could be about to fall outCrazy clothes challenge 2017 - 30/3000 -
Hello all - I've been MIA for a while...
I've had a successful week - I can't wear my usual perfume any more (smell doesn't suit me/don't like it) so this week I took my chances and returned an unopened one to b**ts. They let me exchange it for a different one and as I still had credit owing, I bought myself some clarins stuff that I'd run out of. :j
I like the new perfume but have now come down with a cold so can't smell anything...
I bought a couple of elvi tunics from tkmaxx a week or two ago, have just worn one and washed it a couple of times and it has shrunk in length by 3-4 inches! (I know because I've compared it to the other, identical, non-worn tunic) I don't have the receipt but was wondering if it's worth emailing elvi and complaining - what do you think? The annoying thing is that these tunics were ideal for work (and in my colours!). Grr...
On a plus, I've stuck to taking vitamins most mornings (I'm on a multi-v, vit d, b complex and omega fish oil) and I've taken the plunge and joined the gym (been twice a week for the past couple of weeks, along with a couple of pilates sessions and the odd swim) and I'm feeling much better for it.
The most difficult thing is to fit in exercise around work/childcare etc, so I'm tending to go 9pm onwards - any other tips on how to squeeze everything in?0 -

This comment made me :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:, the film production companies have suddenly woken up to the fact that people of "my age" had the time and the money and the desire to see films which were funny or thought provoking or interesting, or even all three together and the Marigold Hotel films were aimed specifically to attract us. We don't have a cinema as such here, but the arts centre is equiped as a theatre/cinema, films such as Quartet, Best Marigold Hotel, Mr Turner, The Imitation Game have been a total sell out, with the audience majority being of a certain age:D, however a goodly proportion of us there clearly have never set foot in M&S Classic Dept thank goodness.
Your outfit sounds lovely, all the type of things that I wear, minus the heels, sadly dozens of years of wearing stilettos and high wedges have completely boogered my ankles and it is flats only for me, but I love my red ankle boots and have a yen for a pair of flowery DM's, flats can be fun!:DThe best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. Good afternoon ladies
Still not managed Second Best Marigold yet because not been feeling up to much but as it's only just out there's no panic. Perhaps next week.
So I too shall be joining the ladies of a certain age ..... - no classic M&S wear though  :rotfl:
Well I'm feeling a bit grim, my darling sister has given me her lurgy - the horrible little toe rag. So I've cancelled today's intended shopping trip and just nipped Down to the local mini Sainsbugs. I've not lived here long but everyone is so friendly. The shop assistant could see I wasn't well and she was fussing over me like a mother hen.
Anyway I used some of my points and splashed out and treated myself to some glossy mags...so I can read them when I am feeling rough. In effect they were "free" so not too naughty. I hardly ever buy magazines these days but I do like drooling over interior design and house mags. My one weakness;)
DS1 came for dinner last night, with his new girlfriend, the lovely M. It was so nice to see them so happy and so obviously in love. Those wedding bells are getting louder:D
I did the obligatory "mum embarrassing their sons thing" and brought out the baby pics and school photos. We had a merry time and of course DS was very gracious and took the teasing and leg pulling with good heart.
I'm just going to do a bit of indoor gardening, and then take it easy. Got a nice curry on the go for tonight.
I have a house viewing booked for the weekend. Just round the corner from the flats I like. No river views unfortunately but more space, a nice conservatory and a pretty garden. I'll take a look and then weigh it all up. River views would be lovely but I really like having a garden. Decisions.
What I would really like is one the penthouses with a roof terrace garden and river views......
I don't want much do I.:rotfl: but.... I'm soooo worth it.:D
Needless to say they don't come on the market very often.0 -
Good afternoon everyone!
I've had a hectic few days so am relaxing this afternoon and getting some organising done. Sorted the fridge and freezer, put some peas onto soak for soup tomorrow, cooked some chicken and baked potatoes for lunches the next day or two. Next I need to sort out my diary and make sure it's up to date ( I have a tiny one in my bag and a bigger one DH and I share so we both know what's going on). Later on I'll have a bath, defuzz and scrub. Then an early night as I'm quite tired after the last week!
Tomorrow I think I'll look out for the magazine freebies and have a bit of a pamper while DH is out.
I'm really fed up of my wardrobe atm, not sure if it's just the weather or what, think I need to sort through what I've got and try something different. Might have a potter round the shops tomorrow lunchtime0 -

Yes, we've caught a number of those films recently and (sitting through the interminable adverts) I noticed some interesting ones coming up. There's a remake of Far from the Madding Crowd, something with Keira Knightley designing the gardens at Versailles (just fancied the sumptuous costumes and interiors here) and one about a woman trying to reclaim a Klimt painting of her aunt, looted during the war. I'm also pleased at the increase in live screenings too. We've been to a couple of operas but it's good to see NT plays as well. Now all I need is to check the listings regularly.Tomorrow I think I'll look out for the magazine freebies and have a bit of a pamper while DH is out.

The Prima magazine where I saw that top was a freebie. Good idea using Nectar points too LL.
I think at this time of the year we're getting fed up with wearing same old, same old although I have to say that I do have a year round sort of wardrobe unless it gets really how. I found the Kondoing has helped a bit in that I've found clothes I've forgotten about so that's helped a bit.
I suppose a house would be more spacious and no management charges either LL but there is the responsibility. Is it ready to move into or a doer-upper? Certainly worth taking a look.
Great that you managed to exchange the perfume betty. I'd certainly try phoning about the tunic. You've nothing to lose. Some people I know manage to fit in a brisk walk in their lunch break so that might be worth thinking about. Do they have any scales at your gym? Or do they still have them in Boots? It seems the wii is a bit erratic.;)
I lost 2.5lbs this morning so I'm just below my target weight range. Good timing as it's my birthday next week so I can indulge a bit.0 -
Good evening fabbers,
Hope everyone is well.
the giant mutant cold sore scab is growing!!!!
Got all my usual fabbing done today.
Have gp appointment in the morning for a medicine review and the dreaded dentist in the afternoon.
So no fab friday for me i'm dreading it.
Take care everyone

I'm doing better at remembering to use hand cream, although some days it's still a couple of hours after completing my morning routine before I realise I forgot to apply any after getting dressed
I've got a dispenser in my en-suite which is meant for then and bedtime, and another in the living room I apply after washing pots, doing laundry or any time they feel dry. I've also dug out a smaller squeezy one that I'm going to put in with my gym kit, and plan to see if I've another of those tucked away for my travel kit
Yesterday I purchased a lip salve stick (a Nivea one with SPF) as I've recently noticed myself chewing dry skin off my lips  That's currently sitting alongside my laptop (where I spend huge chunks of my day), and I've applied it a few times today..... just need to keep up with that one as well nowCheryl0
