Frugal Frump to Fab - 2015

Afternoon Everyone,
I've not been feeling very fab this week I'm afraid. I came down with the cold I thought I was getting plus a cough plus a nasty cold sore. Feeling rough meant I didn't cook so wasn't eating healthily so felt worse. I've been surviving on bowls of cornflakes! Then last night I woke up with terrible stomach pains and spent several hours in the bathroom! I don't want to go into detail but lets say I was losing whatever I had inside me from both ends simultaneously!!
Goodness knows what caused it - as I say I haven't been eating much apart from cornflakes. I feel a bit delicate now but have had a small salad about an hour ago as I was craving something fresh. The only upside is that the scales were kind to me this morning.
Anyhow, I am almost back to normal and am going to go to work tonight as usual. I'm wearing a dress in soft jersey in muted pinky purple and turquoise on a black background with three quarter sleeves, wrap top and swirly knee length skirt teamed with black opaques and court shoes, and black and silver jewellery.
Hope everyone has a lovely weekend.

I have been gardening today, it has been sunny and quite warm, but the wind is getting stronger now. Did too much and had to take painkillers, but it was lovely being in the fresh air. OH has been tidying and cutting back the shrubs and hard for me to reach stuff and has agreed to me to get a price from a professional for having some work done in the garden that I have been wanting done for ages, it takes him a while to come around to things sometimes if it my idea:rotfl: I dressed tidily, but warm and comfortably and wore make up and perfume (lots of moisturiser and foundation plus powder for the spf and to protect my skin from the wind.
Need to drop into the SM for fresh veg and salad, I think something very quick and easy for supper may come home with us, I do try and cook from scratch, or use one of my HM ready meals most days, but and whacked now.The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. I wish I was photogenic:rotfl: but alas Im not. My sister on the other hand looks ravishing on film. Hey ho.
That's a job I need to do. We have loads. What do you plan to do with the ones you intend to keep? I've also got old photos inherited from my parents. As I'm the eldest I'm probably the only one who can identify some of the people and occasions. I feel I should catalogue them in some way for the DDs. really not sure.
These days DH just loads them onto computer (and backs them up) and then we have a random slideshow as our screensaver. I often sit and look at them when I'm supposed to be doing something important!;)Need to drop into the SM for fresh veg and salad, I think something very quick and easy for supper may come home with us, I do try and cook from scratch, or use one of my HM ready meals most days, but and whacked now.
I've been busy today cooking for the freezer so tonight is a very easy pulled pork from Tesco. I don't shop there often so when I do I buy one or two for the freezer.

Only small amounts of fabbing for me at the moment - recovering from shingles.
I have started having my hair coloured at the hair dressers again, I only have shoulder length hair but is very thick. It was starting to take 2 boxes of home colour and Im not very good at the regrowth bit so the ends were starting to suffer.
I have switched from WW online to MFP - 2 benefits so far I have lost 7lb in 3 weeks and its free! so the £12 per month WW was costing me is going into a pot and Im going to take advantage of groupon a little more and fab a bit more.
March is the month for my nails, I have lots of polishes I don't seem to use, so that will be a focus for the moment and hand cream. I also aim to wear at least lip gloss, mascara and perfume to work every day this month! Will try today but am going to the pub with OH and a group of friends to what the rugby (I will be the only girlie in the group - which tends to stop me making an effort as they don't care I what I look like!)No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries: July stash 72/0 INS/2 UU/0 TA0 -
Well last night I went to read in bed about 9.30, promptly fell asleep and woke up at 10 this morning! have been feeling tired a lot lately, so hopefully it'll do me good.
I've made my plan for the next few days, now I just have to stick to it! Today I need to do loads of OU reading and make an essay plan. Make a food plan for the week, and have a nice bath before bed as I have a busy day again tomorrow. Oh and hunt out my passport and a utility bill for my meeting tomorrow night.
Right, I'd best get on with it! Have a nice day everyone! x0 -
Happy St David's Day all!
Hope you have a productive day beluga. It has to be better on the back of an excellent night's sleep.:)getting-there-slowly wrote: »Only small amounts of fabbing for me at the moment - recovering from shingles.

Sounds like you've done and planned far more than small amounts. Very mse on the weightloss front too.:money:Lots of people combine mfp with other diets. So they watch their calorie count but do 5:2 alongside or WW or SW. To me it all helps to be mindful of what we're eating. Any of the reputable diets are a lot of common sense really. We all know that it's better for you to eat lean meat/fish and loads of veg rather than heaps of crisps, cakes and cream. So what's good for everyday eating and what needs to be kept as treats. I think it's all to easy to come unstuck on the drinks especially alcohol, fruit juices and fizzy drinks as they slip down so easily.
And don't forget we're doing this for us! If others notice and offer compliments then that's a bonus.;)
I'm not wearing my daffodil today as I'm indoors but have got two lovely jugs of them to look at. I have decided to dress in traditional colours though so I've got a red ballet cardigan on over a black camisole. A bit different to when I used to wear full Welsh costume as a child.:)0 -
Good point maman, the pub we are watching the rugby at is a little rough around the edges definatley a jeans place, so I will be there in jeans rugby shirt and mascara;)No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries: July stash 72/0 INS/2 UU/0 TA0

Good Evening Ladies,
Thank you ladies for the tip regarding vaselene/lip balm around my nose. I will stick loads on before bed and again tomorrow (i will be home alone).
Usual level of fabbing for me which i can now say has become a habit now.
Planning to wash, condition, dry and straighten my hair tomorrow. I am also planning a mani and pedi.
Kindest regards fabbers:j0 -

That's a really good sign. I find I have a basic level that I have developed over time (almost:o) never fall below but I keep trying to add to it. Current ones that I need to work on are:- remembering perfume
- creaming feet
- having hair cut regularly before it gets to the scruffy stage

Glad you are recovering, shingles is not nice at all. Be very kind and gentle with yourself as you get your energy back.
What is MFP? I've been doing the 5:2 for a few weeks but only let go of a couple of pounds so far. Probably didn't help going to john lewis yesterday for the free coffee and cakeCrazy clothes challenge 2017 - 30/3000
