I'm getting worn out with all this talk of exercise!!;) Seriously though, I'm in admiration and ashamed of my own idleness.

I like the sound of doing the matching chair rowan. It must give a much more put together look than just curtains. Thinking back to our sitting room. We have a footstool (not the horrid blue tasselled one in the photo:D) which we use a lot. I don't have the room/layout for one of those corner sofas to lounge on so this fits the bill. The planned new sofas have a footstool option but it's massive and it doesn't have castors so I'm thinking of revamping the current one perhaps in whatever accent colour we choose.

I'm joining in Fab Friday but in a casual way. I should have washed my hair today but decided to skip it as I'll have a few hours to myself tomorrow to give myself a facial etc so delayed until then. BUT I have put on clean jeans, long grey top and fair isle wool waistcoat. I'm off out later (to Aldi:j) so will do make up then.

I managed one wardrobe yesterday and culled a few more bits for the CS. mim, I'm only reading the Kondo thread to adapt ideas. The biggest thing I've got from it so far is that in doing any decluttering I remember some of the things I'd forgotten about and I've decided there's only so many 'gardening' clothes that anyone needs so all faded black jeans have gone to the bin and I only have good ones left. I looked at a youtube clip of someone's pantry and decided that my own kitchen cupboards look better! and I haven't spent a fortune on containers either.

Rain promised here (rained all day yesterday too:() but it hasn't arrived yet.

    Have a good day all.

Hi all, I have been following the thread and admiring everyone's motivation. I have seriously fallen off the wagon but am now determined to get back on.

I have eaten nothing but junk and I feel awful for it, really sluggish and it makes my ibs worse. Need to really learn from this and stop falling at this hurdle.

I'm looking into joining a gym again but just debating which one to join. I used to love it so am hoping that feeling will return in time.

I have had my hair cut and coloured this week and have worn perfume every day but that's about all.

My nails are very flaky atm, any ideas what I can do to stop them flaking and get them strong?

I'm just painting my toe nails so I at least feel like I have made a start.

    Good evening Fabbers,

hope everyone is ok as the thread seems quiet.

Usual fabbing for me today, managed a short walk with the dog.
Just going for a soak, defuzz, face mask, hair wash and condition then all the creams and lotions.

    Regards

    Yes, it is quiet today.

I had a good pampering session today. As well as the usual I put on a face pack. I also finished a bottle of shower gel and started using up some Nivea in-shower moisturiser. It works OK but I wouldn't recommend it over lashing on body lotion but it'll do for this time of the year. I won't be buying it again.

I'm not expecting to glow or look years younger but the very act of taking some time to pamper myself makes me feel good.

Really pleased with my hair at the moment. Delighted with the highlights I had done last weekend and I'm really cracking blow drying.

Hope everyone's having a good weekend.

Durham_mim - just a thought, could you pay online to collect in store, try on to see if you want to keep the dress, then ask for a refund and pay with your vouchers? I've done this in M&S before.

Thank youMrs CD, I think I'll give that a go.

Usual fabbing done. For Fab Friday I treated myself to one of LL's facial's, showered, moisturised, defuzzed & painted nails.

Had a dance social last night, full make up was worn together with a royal blue & black pencil skirt, black blouse with a few sparkles and a royal blue zip up cardigan, black sheer stockings & black wedge shoes. I got quite a few compliments and was told royal blue is 'my colour' :D

I like the sound of the outfit mim. I always feel glamorous in a pencil skirt and heels. Still waiting for the opportunity to wear my new one from Hush.

I've put on one of those nose strips for clogged pores this morning. I don't think they're hugely effective but it's part of my drive to use up toiletries.

Football this afternoon and will need to think out my outfit as rain is forecast but it'll be cold too. I have a long mac but I think it's frumpy. What do other people wear in the rain?

Not seen you around for a few days LL. Hope all OK?:)
  • Afternoon Everyone,

I've had a busy few days so not got chance to post but have been reading along. Today's fabbing is mainly the house rather than me.

I'm wearing one of my sweater dresses with leggings but with a nice necklace and earrings, and of course perfume. I'm really pleased with the cut of my hair as it is taking very little upkeep to stay looking nice. Today all I've had to do is comb it, though if I were going out I might run the straighteners through it to smooth it a bit more.

I took my Mother shopping yesterday so had the customary quick look round some charity shops. I picked up another jersey wrap dress with elbow length sleeves and swirly skirt, this time with a black and grey abstract small print on it. I wore it for work last night but think I might shorten it tonight. Its about calf length at the moment but I quite like my dresses that I wear with boots a bit shorter at just about knee length.

I wore the black and white Per Una dress that I shortened the other day over my yoga outfit (black vest top and leggings) as I didn't know whether I would be going straight onto work after and got a compliment from a friend who admired the outfit and then told me I had got some lovely clothes! I was really pleased but did't admit that 95% of them come from charity shops.

I've just had some home made celery soup for lunch and have got out various bits and pieces to use up for our Sunday dinner. I'm going to prep that and then have a go at moving furniture around in DGD's room. I want DH to put up a couple of pictures and a new curtain rail when he gets back from his morning trip out so need to know where everything is going.

    Have a lovely Sunday everyone

Hi All - been a bit hectic the last few days! Didn't post Friday as I took DGD shopping for her birthday - full make up, perfume & hair done properly with black 'smart' jeans, ankle boots and jacket with a red & black scarf for a 'pop' of colour and a red handbag. I used some M&S vouchers to get some moisturiser, serum & lipstick. Yesterday we had a quiz night at the club & I was helping (keeping the scoreboard) we'd themed it for Chinese New Year & some years ago I'd bought a beautiful black cheong sam for the fabric & then didn't have the heart to cut it up 'cos it was so beautifully made. Still had the CS ticket on it - £4.00!!
Tried it on & it fitted me so I wore that with black sheer tights (big slit up one side - ooer missus) & patent shoes. Tonight we're out for dinner with DS2, DiL, DGD & BF for her birthday so some serious fabbing required.
Not stayed on my 5:2 diet AGAIN this week but no gain but I really must get back to it.
    Have a lovely Sunday everyone
