Not pouring cold water at all just very sound advice. However, I don't think I'll be a stone lighter by then, I'm in the slow & steady group, so may be only a few pounds lighter. I think I will have opportunities to wear the dress again. The one I bought last year for DD1 graduation (slightly less expensive) has been worn quite a few times since. I will probably wear it for dinner dances, going to church and similar occasions. I have quite a few Debenhams vouchers saved up and need to use before they go out of date so quite :money: in some ways. Having said all that it may look awful on or perhaps it is only available online and not in the shops. I will keep an open mind.

Today I will be doing my shorter Callanetics routine after which I will get fabbed up. Got our monthly quiz tonight but need to dress warmly as the church hall is quite cold. Probably wear my green jeans again with a warmer dk blue jumper and blue ankle boots.

The dress is really pretty, I do hope that you are able to find it in the shop and that you look awesome in it:D

I have a few "really good" items and as they are classics and as I look and feel good in them I love being able to wear them year after year. Although I do love to ring the changes with more budget items too. I suddenly realised a few years ago that the women I knew whose style and dress sense I admired had a more limited amount of clothes that they mixed and matched and changed accessories with. One very sophisticated looking lady who only had her own income to live on and home to upkeep, only earned the same as the rest of us in the office, each season she checked out the new releases in her chosen brands in the department stores and tracked them through to the sales and Blue X days, buying just one or two things a year when the price hit rock bottom, she could wear a scarf with the panache of a french woman and even though she was 30 years older than me I was just a little (well a lot really) envious of her style:D

Maman - well done for sorting out that e-mail, sometimes these things are easier in practice than the scenario that we have built up in our minds:)

Last year seemed to pass so quickly for me and so much not achieved:(, I echo your thoughts about this year whistling past too. I really need to formulate a plan (unheard of normally by Mr MM or me:rotfl:) as we have planned to be away for virtually the whole of May, visiting Scotland in our Caravan. I need to organise some gardening maintenance while we are away and to see if lovely neighbours will be able to have key and perhaps find a deputy as they have a caravan too:)

Very wet here too, I rally must do a session of Kondoing in the bedroom too, I have bought a new duvet so need to get that on bed and take the old one to CS for their rescue kennels, and the tights drawer is still awaiting my attention:(

So pleased I didn't offend. I can see now that you would have uses for it so then it's very worth it. I think delivery's free on that sort of price and possibly they do click and collect. Why not send for a couple of sizes if they don't have it in your local store?

I managed two drawers of tops and jumpers yesterday and a bit more browsing of the Kon Marie thread. Today I'm going to look at wardrobes. I'm sure I can rehome some things in drawers and so make a bit more hanging space as everything's packed in tight. Bags for CS are multiplying!

Grey, wet and windy here today. I'm pleased we managed our snowdrops walk on the best day of the week.:)

I'd thought about using the click & collect service, so that they would be at the store when we visit but you have to pay up front and you can't use vouchers on the website, so not sure what to do really. Wish you could just collect & pay instore.

Not really read up properly on the Kon Marie method but I gather it is basically rolling things up and storing vertically. I have started to do this with the freshly laundered clothes (underwear & jumpers) until I get chance to do the whole drawer. I'm finding this more time consuming than my usual method but there does seem to be more space.

  • durham_mim According to this you can use your vouchers online if they are the giftcard type.

Thanks 3forhols they're not giftcard type but vouchers I earned from doing surveys. If all else fails I'll buy a giftcard and use that online.

  • Hi everybody. Been lurking in the background. Pampered myself with a face mask this evening. Now slapped a good thick layer of face cream on.

    Hi all

Not much fabbing been going on here! Been feeling a bit rough since the physio last week, lets hope I don't react as strongly to tonights session!

Can you help me with a shopping challenge?

OH's birthday is in April and I'd like to buy him a leather jacket. I am keeping an eye on eBay of course but any other suggestions? I have found some really nice ones but they run £130-180ish. Obviously if I can pay less but still get a nice jacket that's good, I am looking at it as an investment though. Getting a bonus from work and can also ask family to club in. ;)

Is pretty much what I'm looking for. Biker (or slightly longer is OK as long as it's a slim fit), stand up collar. No cheap-looking silver zips, preferably zipped chest pockets (or at least ones that lie flat) and I would rather get a central zip. Also if the waist pockets could be zipped that's good too although actually I think I shall tell him not to use the pockets at all in case he stretches it :rotfl:

    Mim the dress looks fab.

Maddiemay your trip to Scotland sounds wonderful.

I too have been fabbing our bedroom, the plum curtains and duvet looked dull and wintery so I washed and altered some pale blue & cream curtains I had at previous house, and covered a bedroom chair in the leftover fabric. New cream bedding that I got in the sale after Xmas finished it off nicely.

I fished out the old Wii last night to weigh myself. Definitely some work needed but I'm on my second week of the 5:2 and since I had to set the Wii up (not used for a couple of years since moving house) I may as well do a Wii fit session later. I also found my yoga dvd's so need to get going with them.

    Fab on :j

  • Fabby Friday everyone! I'm feeling good today, did a face mask last nigh, painted my nails the day before (and they still haven't chipped!) curled my hair and my wearing an outfit that I really love, with newly tailored jeans. I also got some compliments today saying that all the guys at my gym are impressed with my routine and form (I do weights) so that really made my day!
    No more goo hoarding!
