Not much fabbing done this week as still bottom scraping (the boat that is - not me!!) Still SHE will be beautiful when we've finished ;) Have worn heavy gloves & used hand cream so my nails are starting to look a bit more decent.
DGD coming round this evening to put some lowlights in my hair & as its her birthday over the weekend, Nan is taking her shopping on Friday & does that girl love to shop!! So I'll have to look smart with her - not sure about trendy though.

Usual fabbing done, its shopping day today and I will be wearing lipstick!

Got Housegroup tonight and I think I'll wear, grey polo neck, green jeans (the type that pull your tummy in and push your bottom out), black boyfriend cardi, blue ankle boots and blue hat.

Just arranged possible dates for shopping trip with SIL for a dress for DD2's graduation in the summer. I quite fancy this one

Wow mim, just looked at the dress and it's lovely but then I saw the price! I'd advise going for a browsing trip with SIL, maybe trying a few on even trying the shopping adviser person but I wouldn't buy yet for the summer. You could be a stone lighter by then.

I didn't mean to pour cold water but I'm a bit of a cheapskate (aka:money:)when it comes to clothes shopping especially for special occasions. Would you have places to wear it again?

Really you could get away with most colours with cream. Is the room light, or do you want to bring more light in? What overall feel are you going for (warm & cozy, light & bright etc.). I have a creamy beige carpet and walls accented with jade and gold.

Thanks rowan. I had thought of a bit of jade myself. It's quite a light room (dual aspect) and I want to enhance the light but really I'm looking for a timeless, classic but comfy sort of look. I live in an old house which is a copy (garden city) of a Georgian cottage. I don't want to change the (caramel) carpet, I've chosen cream sofas but everything else (except wooden furniture) is to be changed. I'm thinking of dispensing with curtains at one window and having blinds but still thinking. I'll look for a pic to give you an idea of the style.

    Back soon.

This is about the closest I could find to our current sitting room.

We don't have a tasselled footstool;) but the fireplace and general layout are much the same. I like the overall look but the current sofas are on their last legs, I'm bored with my patterned retro style curtains and need to brighten things up. Just googling for a look has helped so thanks everyone.

Done my regular fabbing this morning including creamed feet. Not doing anything special today so will try to fit in some decluttering and, if time, I'll be wading through the Kondo thread ( on Page 3!).

Maman - looks very nice. I've got a beige sitting room. Varying tones for carpet, suite and walls but I've chosen red accents in the cushions, hearth rug and accessories. It makes it very easy to change the whole 'feel' of the room very cheaply. This year I'll re-do in a sharp limey green for the summer, but there are plenty of options - aqua blue, hot pink, petrel blue, purple, plum etc!
I'm sure you'll find something that's just right for you

Maman, I love the style of your room lookalike. We have cream leather sofas and a beige carpet with deep red/gold accents in the pattern on the floor length cream curtains and a lamp. The other colour in our room comes from an enormous fish tank on an antique pine sideboard that is DH's pride and joy - the fish not the sideboard. We have a woodstove rather than an open fire though.

I've just got fabbed up ready for an evening out with friends. It's a birthday and we're going to a local Mediterranean restaurant which is rather nice. There'll be about 10 of us - mostly from the same Yoga and Pilates classes. I am wearing my new (to me) Fat Face dress and have just done my hair which is looking shiny and bouncy in its short bob. I shall probably wear my fancy high heeled knee high black boots that don't get many outings as they are a bit too high for comfort.

I am having to miss Aerobics and Circuits tonight but dashed up there earlier to have a weigh in as its the last week of our Weight Loss Challenge. I've lost 6lbs in the five weeks its been running. I just need to keep up the impetus without the weekly weigh in to keep me on the straight and narrow.

    Good evening everyone!

Sounds like the fabbing (of bodies, minds and houses!) is going well :)

My physical fabbing has stalled somewhat, but I've got this evening free so I'm going to have a bath, scrub, dye my hair and do my nails before bed.
Today I had my creative writing class, and went in early for an art workshop they do there. It was fun, I've not done anything like that in years! I got some Open Uni work done last night so am keeping on top of that so far. Tomorrow I'm planning on going swimming as I need to kickstart my weight loss. I'm not feeling very fab but at least I'm feeling productive! Tbh getting up and getting out of the house is an anchievement in itself some days, so it could be worse.

Not pouring cold water at all just very sound advice. However, I don't think I'll be a stone lighter by then, I'm in the slow & steady group, so may be only a few pounds lighter. I think I will have opportunities to wear the dress again. The one I bought last year for DD1 graduation (slightly less expensive) has been worn quite a few times since. I will probably wear it for dinner dances, going to church and similar occasions. I have quite a few Debenhams vouchers saved up and need to use before they go out of date so quite :money: in some ways. Having said all that it may look awful on or perhaps it is only available online and not in the shops. I will keep an open mind.

Today I will be doing my shorter Callanetics routine after which I will get fabbed up. Got our monthly quiz tonight but need to dress warmly as the church hall is quite cold. Probably wear my green jeans again with a warmer dk blue jumper and blue ankle boots.

Sounds like you're on quite a roll beluga. remember fabbing is all about how you feel about yourself. Physical wellbeing and appearance may be a public statement but feeling happy in your head and with your surroundings counts too.:)

So pleased I didn't offend. I can see now that you would have uses for it so then it's very worth it. I think delivery's free on that sort of price and possibly they do click and collect. Why not send for a couple of sizes if they don't have it in your local store?

It's great that this thread is making us think/plan what we're doing and wearing. It's so easy to just grab the nearest thing. I know what you mean about needing to dress up for cold halls. My dancing class is held in a hall where they never get the heating right so I end up wearing loads of layers.

Thanks for the sitting room comments. I'm disappointed that two months have almost passed (to say nothing of last year!) and we've made no progress on redecorating. The trouble is that DH has always done most of it himself but he's really busy with a project at the moment. I could just step in and book a decorator but it's tricky. I need to have all the ideas ready to go for whenever.

I've managed to write a difficult email this morning that I've been procrastinating over all week. Like most things it wasn't too bad once I got going. I'm having a break now and will get on with more decluttering later. I managed two drawers of tops and jumpers yesterday and a bit more browsing of the Kon Marie thread. Today I'm going to look at wardrobes. I'm sure I can rehome some things in drawers and so make a bit more hanging space as everything's packed in tight. Bags for CS are multiplying!

Grey, wet and windy here today. I'm pleased we managed our snowdrops walk on the best day of the week.:)
