:wave:welcome mim, great to see you on here. WOW! you've made great strides already so onwards and upwards! LL started this thread a couple (??) of years ago and I'm so glad I found it as I was feeling like a bag lady at the time. But not any more!:D

Tomorrow is Fab Friday so we all try to make a special effort. I think it sets us up well for the weekend ahead. Most weeks for me it's just about doing my meal plan and food shop and going to the SM looking presentable.;) but it all counts.

Tomorrow I have a couple of business meetings so I need to look smart and I'll fit in my shopping round that. I need to give some thought to what to wear.

Thinking of you and your OH sweetcheeks:).

    Back soon.

    Back soon.

Thank you for the warm welcome everyone.

Fab Friday suits me just fine as its our Ballroom dance class and I like to dress nicely for that.

By the way I'm only 51, I was getting a little ahead of myself :rotfl:

Rosewood, why not look for a refillable atomiser for your knackered bottle of scent? The old fashioned bulb ones look really glam, but scent can go off quicker if exposed to the air so maybe hunt out a purse-size one to pop into your handbag that you can refill from the bottle?

Morning All - no fabbing this morning it will wait until this evening when DH & I are going ot to see a live group at a local Social Club. Never been there before so a little adventure!!
Didn't manage my 5:2 this week :( but weigh in this morning & I'm still 151.1 - no gain so I'll take that as a plus.
Good to 'see' you Mim - I think you've done really well & you obviously have the determination to reach your goals :T:T

LL - take things gently, its such early days. Apartment sounds fab.

Have a good Fabby Friday everyone!
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle
  • I'm enjoying reading what you've all been achieving.
rose the quilt is beautiful, you are very talented.

Well I've done 2 days of the 5:2 this week (first week) and been walking a few times. Taking my supplements and trying to drink more water/less caffeine (have to keep reminding myself).

Hair appointment booked for Monday and this morning I'm off to meet a friend and walk her two dogs.

Question for you Fabbers: Anyone using the Nutribullet to make smoothies? Online it seems to get good reviews, just not sure if it is worth the money.

Morning, didn't sleep too well last night, probably due to too much caffeine from yesterday's lunch. I had a latte, followed by 'normal' tea. I normally stick to decaff coffee or rooibos tea.

Stove is lit, had my breakfast and now enjoying a cup of decaf coffee before the fabbing begins. Today I need to:

Dry brush, Shower, wash & condition hair.
    Tidy eyebrows & defuzz .
    Cut nails.
    Face scrub & moisturise.
Blow dry hair and then shape with tongs (new for Christmas with brush attachment).
Remove nail chipped nail polish from toe nails which I will then leave to 'breathe' for a few days before applying new.
Apply bright pink nail polish to hands ready for tomorrow.

I think that lot will take me most of the day! I will just wear leggings and jumper until its time to go to dancing. Tonight I plan to wear turquoise jeggings, sea green cami top and a turquoise blouse. Will wear my black Ugg type boots as I will be changing into dance shoes once there. I will be wear matching underwear, something I've started doing on a regular basis as even though no one can see it, it makes me feel great and gives me more confidence. Make up will be a fairly natural look as it tends to be smart/casual for practices. Just need to find some earrings and a necklace now. Oh and mustn't forget the perfume!

Tomorrow night I'm going to a Valentines Ball and really looking forward to it. I'm trying to get as much of the preparation done today as I can so it will be easier tomorrow. Will fill you in on details of what I'll be wearing etc tomorrow ;)

That's a good tip floss, far better than my 'dab behind the ears' solution. I'll look out for a small atomiser as even for those bottles that don't pack up it's hard to get the last dregs to spray and I hate waste.

That's quite a list you've got for today mim!. Completely agree about the underwear. I've glammed up quite a bit in that department too. Made a point of getting measured properly for bras and now I buy them in TK Maxx any time I see something that fits.

Up bright and early for a meeting. Although I was tired (I'm not a good sleeper) once I'd got dressed and make up on I felt quite human. DH commented on 'power shoes today' which was because I was wearing heels. So purple shift, little black cardi, black opaques and heels but with black winter coat and scarf in pinks and purples on top. Meeting was short so I've got a nice little break now before next meeting this afternoon.

I almost always wear skirts for dancing, especially loose swishy ones. Funnily enough everyone noticed this week when I turned up in jeans. That's my normal daytime look but my dancing friends rarely see it.

I've got a hair appointment tomorrow. Just a bit of a tidy up and blow dry but I'm having half head highlights as well. I've bought the M&S Valentines meal for tomorrow night then off to the wedding on Sunday and staying over so this weekend won't be the healthiest eating. Back to it next week with a vengeance!

Rowan, I wish I knew someone who walks regularly. I really need some motivation to get me out. I'm hoping better weather might help.

I don't do smoothies so can't comment. Personally I'd rather eat the vegetables and I avoid fruit juices due to high sugar concentration.

The nurtibullet is raved about in my juicing groups. You might want to check online the difference between juicing and blending though. I'm starting juicing again next week as I need to feel healthy (and lose weight!). The last time I did it I was rid of my fibro pains in about 4 days and lost 5lbs in the first week.
