Hi:)
Is it ok if I join your thread? I stumbled across it whilst venturing into areas I don't normally go on the mse forums - and I think the fact that I'd never looked at the health and beauty threads before just about sums me up and says it all about me!
I've absolutely let myself go both emotionally and physically and although I'm trying really hard to force a more positive mindset in comparison with how I usually feel in January, I don't really know where to start making the changes I want.
I do think, though, that losing weight and bothering about my appearance again would boost my confidence a bit and inspire me to get out a bit more and maybe volunteer or take a course, maybe even get a part time job; I've been "just" a wife, mum and daughter for a very long time!
Sorry for the long post - hope I've not sent you all to sleep! It's going to be very small baby steps for me, but I can start with the perfume:)0 -
Well done Tooties, glad you made appointment, however the comparsion to a cow hit a nerve, hubby is a farmer and when we were expecting he kept on comparing our pregnancy to that of a cows!! Didn't go down well bless him hahaLoving life to the full, just need purse full too

Welcome ellsbell,
It all starts with a squirt of perfume
Today is day off and first dice new year. Currently lying in bed considering the jelly legs I have after last nights exercise and that I'm due for a class at lunch time with my friend.... No pain no gain ...!!
When I come back I'll put a washing on & shower, scrub , moisturiser, feet socks with moisturiser& maybe face mask..... then curl up with a tea & read.
It's lovely just to get an afternoon peace to do that0 -

can be a hard mindset to change but we deserve me time.
Had a lovely evening out with a friend. Put make up on and blow dried my hair. Nails are bare but am using the OPI nail treatment, hopefully this improves their condition :T0 -
:wave:Good to see you over here ellsbel. You'll enjoy it on here, lovely friendly thread with plenty of ideas and support.
I've woken up with a horrible, sore throat this morning so feeling drained and anything but fab. I think it's the Christmas bug I had still not gone away properly. Just thought I'd 'play' on here for a while then force myself to have a shower and hair wash to see if I can start to feel more normal.
Then I'll get dressed in something comfortable but pretty and find something for supper from the freezer/cupboards. Don't think I feel like shopping yet.
Sorry to spread gloom. I hate feeling ill.:(0 -
Hello Fabbers
What a beautiful day here, blue skies, bright sunshine although of course there's not much heat in that sun yet.
Maman - sorry to hear you are feeling ill again, you do seem to be having trouble shaking off that lurgy. Rest and stay warm and just have a gentle potter about.
Hello Elisbel, welcome to the thread. start with perfume and remember the elephant :rotfl:
Lizzie - good to hear from you I was only thinking about you and wondering how you were.
Well I had a lovely morning and even managed to find a way to make my life a lot easier.
I wandered into a branch of the lighthouse charity shop and asked them if they would be interested in some superfluous furniture I want to get rid of. I had taken photos with my mobile - ooh get me -and they practically bit my hand off. We got chatting and I asked them if they would be interested in some of my parents's furniture.
They said they would clear the lot, all I had to do was pack and box everything up. I cannot tell you how much easier it's going to make the task of clearing mum and dads house. So all I have to do is sift through everything, decide what to keep, what to sell, and what to donAte.The boys will then take everthing else to the tip. What a Relief.:D
after mooching around the Shops I felt a bit tired so didn't bother with a coffee. With the money I saved i treated myself to a houseplant and a small art print which were both on sale.
So much better for the waistline than a latte and a wedge of cake. :rotfl:
Happy Fabbing.0 -
That's a weight off your mind with the house clearance LL. It'll cheer your sister up too, so take a bit of pressure off you. And you're right that a slice of cake would have done you no good at all!
I'm feeling better for making an effort. Had my shower, did my hair and put a nice, soft sweater on with my jeans. Then I'm going to read a book.:)0 -

Wishing you all a fab friday!
I've cooked from scratch most nights (although MrM has helped/taken over some nights!! lol) and have enjoyed it. Am planning on sitting down tonight with my new Hairy Dieters Book to plan meals for next week ready for the shop tomorrow.Hi ladies!
Happy birthday Beluga - I hope you had a wonderful day, and happy belated anniversary to Alec
I have to confess that I often buy cheap and cheerful tights but like you I prefer opaque and really quite thick to keep my legs warm.I like to get maroon/navy/brown etc and then pair with a black or navy skirt as I think the contrast looks nice. I do wear sheer tights if I was wearing a skirt to work though as it just feels more professional.
Happy BIrthday beluga. Hope you're having a lovely time.
And belated Anniversary congratulations to Alec too.
I love patterned opaque tights and usually am not too fussy about which brand I buy. Have actually just sent a couple of pairs back to Pretty Polly though as I bought them in the sales and they ripped at the toe on the first wear (both pairs). They are to test them and see if they are faulty. Will see what the outcome is.
I was fortunate to visit my local Sainsbury's last Summer when I was shopping for holiday clothes to find a load of opaque and body contour tights massively reduced so stocked up then.Bambywamby wrote: »
Fabbing... I have been tackling my heels. I generally ignore them in Autumn and Winter as they get covered up ... so they were feeling a tad rough. I have been exfoliating and moisturising them for the last week on a nightly basis and I can say they are now responding and looking smoother and feeling softer.
I hope you all have a lovely Friday... xx
It's my intention to soak my feet and use the pedi pro and a new foot pack on my feet this weekend. The foot pack is a pair of plastic boots soaked in shea butter and tea tree cream.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. DD straightened my hair before work this morning and has booked me in to do my nails, told her they need filing down a lot as getting too long for my liking.
Made sure I put my mascara and lippy on today, feeling better about putting it on now as I no longer worry about what i'm not wearingLoving life to the full, just need purse full too
