  • Evenin everyone,

LL thank you for the smile and glad you're starting to feel better.

Making me chuckle all the comments about nails and crème eggs, I don't like crème eggs or the colour purple, more of a galaxy girl me haha.

Got dressed up for wall climbing today wearing green coat and bright orange scarf (its freezing at that place) and even managed bit of lippy. One of the other mum's commented on my coat, saying the colour really suited me. Funny thing was I've had the coat about 4 years and been going wall climbing about 2 and no one had ever seen it before.

Just been on a 6 mile walk with hubby and a friend of ours, her OH was at work, and we've decided for the four of us to go out for tea, my gorgeous DD and her bf have said they will stop in with boys. Friend started asking me about what we were wearing tonight, which felt strangely weird but nice at the same time, as I don't normally have conversations like that apart from with my DD.

So as we are going a country pub, decided on skinny grey jeans, black heels and a navy sparkly cardigan with vest top underneath. DD has said she will do my hair for me :)

Have a lovely evening my virtual friends :)

    Hi ladies :)

I fabbed yesterday morning and again during the day. I concluded that my skin looks better without foundation because it only serves to highlight any dryness. I do have an Avon Skin Perfector though which works really well for me, plus I'm noticing the redness in my cheeks is less as I'm moisturising more.

I reapplied my eyeliner today and also de-fuzzed before leaving the hotel. It was nice to dress up last night and I had a great time, but I felt oh so comfortable in my jeans, trainers and hoody today. It is a zipped hoody so fitted in my defence and the maroon colour suits my new hair colour.

OH gave me a belated birthday present this evening - it's a makeup lesson at a Bannatyne spa. We don't have one too locally so I shall have to work out when I can go. Looking forward to it although of course with all of my new-found fabbing, I am sure that I will get told that my skin is perfect and I don't need makeup :rotfl:

    Good evening everyone,

I am a bit boring compared to you all, i just did my usual fabbing today and loads of home fabbing.

My elbows are nice and soft now.

    Take care

    regards

  • I've been reading this thread with interest since the new year and trying to follow the principals.

One extra thing I've started to do over the past few days is keep a lip gloss in my coat pocket. Usually I apply some in the morning, and that's it, but now I put some on every time I go out - whether just to the post box, or school run etc - but I'd never have put it on for those sort of trips before, but I do now just because it's in my coat pocket.

I hope this helps someone feel more fab!

    Good Morning Fabbers

No fabbing done yesterday - other than giving my face & neck a gentle wash 'cos I was covered in red dust! My hair is a fetching shade of pink too (not!) but I did manage to ger quite a lot of the scraping done yesterday & the weather report today is dry so I'm off to do some more. I usually have a nice bath on a Sunday, defuzz & moisturise, do my piggies & wash my hair so its going to have to wait until I come home today.
Maman - I did chuckle at the thought of me lazing on the deck in the sunshine - not in British weather! apart from the fact that my boat is so small I dont even think there's room on the deck to sunbathe! She's my 'indulgence' in retirement & needs a lot of TLC at the moment but maybe in the summer I can be at the helm - hair streaming in the wind with bronzed skin & sparkly white teeth - nah, though not :rotfl:
Off to put on heavy moisturiser, perfume & cream my hands for it to soak in under my gloves.
    Happy fabbing ladies

You are definitely not boring tooties. How much and what sort of fabbing you choose to do is entirely up to you!! No need for apologies.

    Hello again

Got a nice comment about the dress I was wearing today which shows the care in outfits is working. The dress is one I picked up from a charity shop and altered. . It's one of the things I like about buying from charity shops as I can go for a decent quality but then don't mind changing things as I've only spent a fiver.

I also made sure I slowed down when eating lunch - DH took me out to lunch as a treat when I got back from work. I found I was loading my food onto my fork straight after taking a mouthful so just made sure I was aware of finishing a mouthful and swallowing it before getting any more food on the fork. It really worked as I felt full quite quickly.

Completely agree about buying at CS. They were a godsend when I was losing weight. It meant I could buy cheaply and re-donate them when I dropped sizes and it helped me experiment with colour. Now I just buy the odd want (rather than need) as it makes a cheap treat but I get quality brands.

What you're describing is called mindful eating I think. SW has introduced a new plan this month alongside their usual one which is meant to speed weightloss or to give a boost for special occasions. Many are trying it out to lose the Christmas gains. Briefly, it's low carb focusing instead on eating protein (meat/fish/pulses) and veg/fruit. Two tips might be useful: to cut down potatoes I've been cutting carrots in large chunks instead of slices/julienne. I think there's something psychological about having something to cut into with your knife and fork. The other is to do carrot and swede mash with shepherds pie or sausages instead of potatoes.
. And tommorrow will be off to my first new stitching group.

ooh! what sort of stitching do you do?

All compliments greatly received! Although we're doing this for us first and foremost it is good when someone notices.:)

I think heels with jeans is a good look for country pubs, somehow more dressy and a big help with posture.

Thanks for the lip gloss tip treacle. Until kiwi mentioned it I didn't even know that coloured lip balm existed. I'm definitely going to get some for the summer, perfect for beach holidays.

I bought a dress yesterday for the wedding I'm going to next month. Went to M&S to collect my new knickers:j and browsed their sale section. And I got some black jeans, per Una but with some little sparkly bits on the pockets.

The dress is like this one
    http://www.marksandspencer.com/scallop-edge-floral-lace-shift-dress/p/p22354851#
but mine is in purple to match some shoes and a velvet coat that I already have and I only paid £18 for it!!

Still feeling a bit throaty today but I'm coping. Not doing anything special, just pottering. Have a good day all.:)
  • Last nights meal wasn't too successful, food was very bland to say the least, so won't be rushing back there, however the company was the best, and a lot of laughter heard and smiles seen :)

Had a fabtastic day today. DD did my nails, pale pink shellac topped with pale pink glitter, they look superb :)

Then we went to a wedding fayre, mainly for professional reasons, but we had lots of fun and a cuppa together. I absolutely ooze with pride when i'm with her :)

Followed by a quick shop at Morrie's, where I am proud to say I needed to by some new facial moisturising cream (had my last one about 2/3 years as hardly used it). I'm sure this one won't last as long now I'm a fabbing lady :) DD chose one for me that would suit my skin best, she knows far more than me, but it is her trade :)

Just about to dish out Roast Chicken dinner for everyone, then enjoy a lovely night in armchair in front of roaring fire.

Have a lovely evening everyone :)

    Evening Everyone

The dress looks nice Maman and I think will look great in purple.

It's good to hear how everyone is getting on and establishing their own little routines.

I've been kept busy all day as it's my Sunday to look after DGD (aged 4). I took her swimming this morning and then to feed the ducks. We then went to a local garden centre for lunch with my Mother and DH. DGD and I shared a bowl of vegetable soup (it was massive) and she had the bread roll with it. Later on we had scooter and running races in the garden as well as painting and baking and building dens. As she doesn't have any siblings I tend to act as playmate all day when she comes and welcome the chance to keep active. DS and DDiL have been for their weekly Sunday roast but I didn't have any potatoes or Yorkshire pudding. I have used a side plate for my meals for years Chanie but agree it's a really good idea for keeping portions quite low. I must admit I forgot all about slowing down my eating at that meal but as I was busy chatting and helping DGD describe all we'd been doing I was slower than normal anyhow.

My hair looks a bit fluffy today as I had to let it air dry after swimming so I might rewash it tomorrow after my run. I wore dark blue jeans and a navy and white striped top today. My jeans keep slipping down so I'm hoping it's a sign of losing some of the excess around my waist which is what I'm aiming for with the low carb eating.

We had thought of going to see Taken 3 tonight but have decided to wait till next week as DH has been busy all day and still has things to do tonight. I am thinking of going and re-organising some of my clothes storage after reading the Kon Mari thread, though my clothes do tend to be fairly well organized anyhow. Alternatively, I may start designing a patchwork quilt for DGD's room as I've just changed the curtains in there from a teddy theme to a creamy yellow and pink floral set I was given. Does anyone remember Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady? It's a design full of hedgerow flowers and came with 2 bedspreads which I've dismantled as they looked very seventies hotel bedroom. I thought I might use them to make a pink, cream and yellow patchwork quilt to go with the curtains.

    Have a good evening everyone.

    Good Evening Fabbers,

Usual morning fabbing routine for me.

A little home fabbing and some prep work for the new week.

Visited a friend this afternoon then home for a naughty take away.

Going for a soak, hair wash etc, face mask then loads of body butter.

    Have a great night everyone

    regards
