Hi towser welcome to the thread.
I see you have also asked the same question on another thread and I'm not really sure how to answer.
you see we don't have a "checklist" as such, we all just do,what we are comfortable with.
If you go to the beginning of the thread and just read through at your leisure you will pick up loads of ideas from the general chit chat.
You will see that I do suggest that it all begins with a squirt of perfume.
After that its all down to grooming, grooming and then more grooming........::rotfl:
Finding just a few extra minutes in a busy day to do things that make you feel good about yourself.
Start with the basics, skin care, making your hair look nice, and taking care of your clothes and general appearance.
Start with the mirror test and just take it from there.
The mirror test never fails - if you are honest with yourself and if you can be objective in your appraisal of what you see reflected in the mirror then you will know what to do.
It's all about being honest and not deluding yourself. If what you see in the mirror is a bag lady (yes that was me once) then just smarten up.
Remember no one is born knowing how to apply make up, how to dress nicely, how to style their hair, but it's something we can all learn.
And it doesn't cost a lot of money either. If you can afford a computer and broadband then you can afford to spend a little to improve your looks.
Remember always There is no such thing as "effortless chic" and "easy glamour".
It will take some effort but it is worth it.
I always think that Nigella Lawson is a very glamourous woman, however even she has her off days. When She puts on the weight and let's herslef go she can look quite grim. When she takes herself in hand, sheds sme weight and sorts herself out, she looks truly fabulous.
finally - one last tip.
always remember the elephant........
I've had a Nice afternoon, sorting out a huge ottoman which lies at the foot of my bed. Apart from the usual linens it contained all manner of stuff. It has now been sorted and decluttered and is now standing empty.
It will be removed to the study (when that is complete) where it will store all our power tools. I know, I know but we don't have a garage or shed and at the moment a lot of them are either just left lying around or are cluttering up my kitchen cupboards.
Right a quick tidy round and then off to bed.
G'night all.0 -
Morning all, I an keeping up with basic fabbing. Legs shaved, daily moisturising (even my dry elbows are getting better) and cleanse/tone moisturise.
I really need to get started on weight loss. I had made a start but was ill and decided that I would need to focus on weight loss later. The Paul McKenna system works well for me so making a start on that today.
There has been heavy snowfall overnight here so I am planning to head out for a walk later as I love walking in the snow. Hopefully it will be a clear-blue-sky day too.0 -
Hi everyone,
I have just caught up with this thread. Quite a few people have been saying they don't have time for fabbing. I'm really busy myself, so I thought I'd share a few of my tips, in case anyone is interested.
Little and often - I normally do my fabbing once the children are in bed and only do a couple of things. For example, one night, I may take off my nail varnish and I may repaint them the next night.
Using time effectively - I paint my toe nails and put on a face mask. I will then relax for a while, so that I can enjoy the face mask and allow my toes to dry. By the time I've take off the face mask, my toes are dry and I don't have to worry about smudging them.
Things that do more than one job - I body brush, not only for cellulite (luckily, I don't have much) but it also exfoliates my skin at the same time.
Drink more water - I have a water bottle at work that I fill up throughout the day. I think it really does have a subtle effect on how you look.0 -
Just a quick question. Does anyone recommend a way of clearing blocked pores? I have never had spots or any skin issues other than blocked pores on my nose and I really want rid of them! Any ideas welcome.
Try crushing up a soluble aspirin with a very small amount of water and make it into a paste. Then gently exfoliate your nose area with it. Every other night.
Aspirin contains salicylic acid which is the product the manufacturing companies use in expensive pore cleaning and reducing lotions and creams. Just ensure you are gentle when exfoliating and if there are any signs of irritation, stop using it.0 -
Aspirin is also good for in growing hairs...0

After about three posts in I was convinced enough to buy the book!! If you don't hear from me for a while you'll know I am carefully filing my knickers by size and colour.Mortgage

Kiwi - I googled her too & although some of her ideas seem 'off the wall' quite a few resonate. Especially when she says about thanking items & letting them go. I've a lot of my late mothers things to get rid of still after 13 years! I also think a lot of her ideas are also Feng Shui based - clear the clutter clear your mind.
Off to see DS2 as its his birthday today (yup - two boys close together!) so a bit of extra fabbing with my sample BB cream & mascara, eye shadow & lippy & not forgetting the perfume!
Hmm Kiwi - does grey count as a colour for knickers............???Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -
Morning Fabbies :hello:
LL I have enjoyed having a read through your post this morning, I have saved the mirror test which I haven't done yet but also I must have a look on pinterest at effortless chic/easy glamour and for some style inspiration. My wardrobe is due for a freshen on some items!
chanie I threw my old body brush out last year as it was really quite rough and getting past it's best. Any recommendations? As I do need a new one.
Last nights run we did just short of 2 miles, included hills. It felt quite good, although a little cold!! After my shower I moisturised and used my cellulite cream (I won't be buying this again but it's part of my using toiletries up).
For work today I have my everyday make-up, hair twisted up and secured with a stretch clip sparkley thing (I don't know what it's actually called), and fringe down and swept slightly to the side. Black trousers, white 3/4 top with a black cardi and my black work shoes - that sounds a little boring but it looks quite smart:)
I really need to work on actually getting out of bed at 7am again, I'm not a very good morning person but 8am is getting to rushy in a morning
Have a nice day everyone xxChristmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:
Mum to two boys :heartpuls0 -
Morning everyone!
Went swimming last night and seem to have pulled something as I'm really sore today, didn't sleep well as was so uncomfortable
Dyed my hair afterwards, as I found a few grey roots the other day (!) and was self conscious about them. Nails need doing but will have to wait till later on.
It's freezing here, so I'm going to get all wrapped up and head into town a bit early for my meeting today, might brave the Boots sale, and pick up a treat for tomorrow (my birthday). I quite fancy some chocolate covered strawberries, they're fruit so healthy, right?
Happy fabbing! x0
