I don't wear make up at all - the only exception being for special outing.
I tried wearing some when OH was over a couple of weeks ago, and didn't feel comfy in it. If I apply more than mascara it's also prone to bringing me out in spots a few days later however well I clean it off at the end of the day
So my fabbing routine does not (and will not) include make up. I feel better about myself without it, and to my mind this thread is all about feeling better about ourselvesCheryl0 -
If you don't like foundation -I appetciate that I only wear a thin tinted moisturiser as I hate too much on my face. But you would like to consider something what about a fine mineral powder foundation . So all you are using is a little powder on your face with lippy & mascara. ?
Just a thought, there is no problem in just wearing lipsy & mascara if that's what you feel comfy with xx0 -
Another vote here for what you are comfortable with, mascara and lippy is great, but - more of a grooming thing than make up - make sure that your eyebrows are looking good too, keep tidy and use a teensy bit of eye brow pencil if you have any thinner patches, it really does make so much difference, even though I wear specs having my brows lightly tweezed and some colouring in really opens up my eye area and makes me look lifted somehow.
If at any stage you want to try wearing more make up, special photos or the like, talk to the sales assistants at some of the make up counters, get them to colour match you and try and blag a little sample of tinted moisturiser or light foundation. If you find a look that you like they usually give enough for a couple (or more) wearings. If you really love something you can go back and buy, but if not the look for you, no money wasted:money:The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -
So holiday is booked, off to Tunisia in August, its gonna be hot hot hot. So even more reason to lose the weight.
Been on a long walk with the dog, thankfully no rolling in smelly stuff today so she can have extra hugs today.
Just had lunch, then going to tidy the house a little then do some crafting, always find this very theraputic (sp).
Not done any fabbing today.

Afternoon Lovely Ladies,
I don't wear any make up at all. I used to get my eyelashes dyed but haven't for nearly 18 months after suffering an eye problem (not related). I also don't use moisturisers or anything and no soap on my face - just hot water and a flannel.
I've had an industrious morning, which helps with feeling fab mentally. I've a chicken casserole cooking (in a homemade slow cooker which is basically a polystyrene box filled with old quilts and cushions). The chicken drumsticks (8 of them) were reduced down to 80p a few weeks back. I've also prepped the mashed potato and mashed swede. We're having it with dumplings, broccoli and green beans and there are carrots and mushrooms in the casserole. I won't have any potato or dumplings but will fill my plate with vegetables. I also made a red and yellow pepper soup and have had some for lunch followed by raspberries and Greek yoghurt.
DH and I also spent an hour or so sorting out the chicken pen. It's had a deep clean and we've moved the run and the roosting boxes around a bit. The pen is full of autumn leaves as they love scratching around in them so I did a bit of sweeping and put a few fresh loads in.
I'm due at work shortly for a couple of hours. DDiL usuallly works Sundays but is taking DGD to a party so I'm covering for her. It's DDiL's mother's turn to have DGD so I don't have her to look after. DS and DDiL will be here for their regular Sunday dinner hence prepping everything in advance.
I've chosen smart black jeans with my favourite draped jersey top and black ankle boots. That will look fine for work and carry on for the evening as DH and I are planning to go and see The Theory of Everything. We usually go to the cinema on Sunday evenings if there is something we want to watch but I was too ill last week.
Enjoy the rest of your weekends everyone.

I just wanted to echo what others have said about make up in that, I find, the joy of wearing it now is because I've found my perfect foundation. I use a mineral one that is light and looks natural.
Not much fabbing going on today although I've showered, moisturised and put makeup on as we nipped out to take daughter to work and nipped to sainsburys. Have just cleaned rabbit hutch and now going to cook bean and vegetables stew for my work lunches.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

My make up bag is fairly empty, 1 mascara (worn occasionally) lip stick (worn bit more often) various eye shadows (only when I feel I must) plus one dried up foundation.
The thing is I can wear mascara and lipstick, and I am doing so more since this thread, but whenever I wear anything more, I feel like a fraudster, I don't feel like me.
So do I just accept who I am, throw away and be happy with mascara and lippy, or really try and wear the rest?
I can't decide if i'm being ok-ish with who I am, or lazy haha
First I want to agree with cw18 and others, no need to wear make up if you don't want to. It's purely personal choice and if it doesn't make you feel good, what's the point!!
To try to answer your questions rubies. I certainly wouldn't go out and spend a load on make up you may never use. Does your DD use make up? If so perhaps you could experiment with hers. Otherwise, I'd buy some cheapish stuff (Superdrug? Pound shop?) and have a play with that. Alternatively go into one of the stores and ask them to try things out on you. But stand firm and don't buy anything straight away, take time to thik. I find if you can get into shops during the morning/afternoon on weekdays they're only too pleased to have something to do.
I find that in the summer when I have a bit of colour in my skin then I just use mascara and lipstick or just lipgloss/Vaseline in the daytime. So once the sun comes out I wear very little unless it's a very dressy occasion. In the winter (like now!!) I tend to look very pale/tired/washed out without anything so unless I'm just pottering about the house I wear a light make up. This is what I've gradually added to my routine:- tinted moisturiser/BB cream:I have colours very close to my skintone so don't put it around my eyes otherwise I find it makes me look more lined.
- eyebrow pencil:Just a soft brown so not too marked.
- blusher: to make me look a but 'sunkissed'
- mascara: this is my 'must have' otherwise I look ill and half asleep!
- lipstick: again this really wakes my face up
- highlighter: I only use this in the evenings/special occasions on the top of my cheekbones
- Lemon Aid: only got it this week so I'm still learning but I like the way it opens my eyes. I suppose it does the same job as eyeshadow but without colour.
We're going to the pub to watch football shortly and have a meal while we're there. So I have done some fabbing but smart casual!;) I think my tiara might be out of place!:rotfl:0 -
My holiday is booked  we are going to a gorgeous cottage in the middle of nowhere so it will be quiet and relaxing so I am really looking forward to it!
Not sure if I posted but I lost 4lbs this week so that is a good start
As for the makeup, I only used to wear it on a big night out however I now wear the basics every day and much as I am loathe to admitt it I look much better with it onThe main makeup I use is No7 and I find it affordable and good quality plus it is often on offer. However as everyone else has said this thread is about feeling fabulous so only wear what makes you feel good

Hello everyone!
Hewie29 - thanks and hope you're feeling ok. I'm on Fluoxetine and it has helped, but I think I need to try something else. A stronger dose just made me feel spacey
Not being very fab today, but having a chilled out sofa day. Went out for a meal last night with some friends, it was niceTOnight I'm going to have an early night and a bath.

wow thank you everyone, yes DD does use make up, she's a hairdresser and beautician, so does for work, but takes off as soon as she's gets home, I think she see's it as part of her uniform, also because of her job, my eye brows and nails are always done. I give some thought to the mineral stuff, and get rid of the rest, as I won't wear it and i'm sure its probably out of date.
Been for a lovely walk for hour and half this afternoon, made hubby's present for anniversary tomorrow, now relaxing now in front of open fire
Have a lovely evening everyoneLoving life to the full, just need purse full too
