Hello all  I hope you don't mind if I join the thread as I need a big dose of fabulousness this year.
I wear an SPF 15+ facial moisturiser every day and have done since I was in my mid-twenties. My only saving grace. I do like to dye my hair and wear make-up just about everyday but I rarely do more than put my hair up as it's very long and I get fed up with the length of time it takes to style it.
My make-up is usually the barely-there feature enhancing kind. I have become a bit stale and mumsy since having my little one three years ago. And less make-up meant less time spent.... on me!
And now I think.... What's wrong with spending time on me?
2015 is the year I take back the fabulous I had in my early thirties and bring it into my early forties.
So today I am... having a lovely deep bubble bath (sod watching the water meter) defuzz all my hairy bits, face scrub and pack, petroleum jelly on the eyelashes to encourage thickness and condition, wash and condition locks (let dry naturally as it's too late to bother styling) and manicure hands whilst watching Judge Judy. I lurve that programme.
Also I would like to drop a few pounds and get back to a size 12, so I am also healthy eating and exercising naturally. No gym bunny am I.
Having migraines, joint-pain and dizziness for the past eight years (diagnosed as myofascal pain) I became gluten free in the last few months. Eating very few grains has given me more energy and less pain... but it hasn't helped the waistline as I guzzled gluten free bread, pastry and biscuits. I am now back on Paleo + dairy. Paleo makes me feel energetic and lifts brains fog. I have never been a big sugar eater... however that has been given the old heave ho too.
Coffee... you are going NOWHERE! It keeps me sane.
Have a love fabulous evening ladies. xx And thanks for having me... assuming you will.0 -
... Have never bought perfume in my life so what do you recommend I buy...
I would also suggest listing the scents you do like, and looking them up on aa website like Basenotes.net to see which common notes are in your favourites, then you can find other perfumes with the same basenotes.
Also if you are ever out anywhere with a counter, ask them for advice & help, you may well get a handful of different samples to try!2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

I've made my paleo granola for next week and pot of ratatouille.
Had a facial and manicure
Pretty good weekend Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0 -
Hi folks, back (mainly lurking) for another thread...
Could do with losing 1/2 a stone, have back, hip & knee issues so can't do the regular 8-10mile walks we used to at weekends, need to sort out my posture and tone up too!
My work wardrobe is still looking good, when I go to bed I hang today's shift dress at the far end of the rail so they all get worn in rotationI have my nails done every 2-3 weeks (shellac like Maman), and I style my hair properly & wear makeup & perfume daily for work.
My weekend wardrobe is a work in progress, I'm slowly building a smart / casual style to complement the work day look, mainly through charity shopping & refashioned items from my wardrobe.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Had shower, washed hair and did arm pits yet again, not sure if they growing quicker, or i'm noticing myself more.
Me and hubby walked (45 mins) to my mum's today for lunch with boys, then 15 mins to friends, where I got given a very large tia maria, they know me so well, then got a lift home, and hubby drove us to his mum's for tea.
Told mum about last night, she just gave me "it's alright" hug
Now back, with fire lit, relaxing, catching up on threads, while boys get ready for school tomorrowhate it when they go back, house is too quiet.
Loving life to the full, just need purse full too

Hello everyone!
Today's been fairly quiet, but I did manage a brisk walk (only half an hour but it's a start!) and sorted out my prescription. Tidied up a few bits in the house and transferred to my new 2015 diary.
Tonight I'm going to get myself sorted for the week - sort out handbag and outfit for tomorrow, get my swimming bag ready, bath and defuzz ready for the pool!
Right, I'm off for a bath and an early night, although I didn't drink last night I feel like I did! I'm tired, thirsty and have a headacheWill try to step up the healthy eating and drink lots of water.

I've had a busy planning/ organising weekend, Filofax is up to date for 2015, and I have a manageable to do list
well before I go back to work tomorrow anyway…..
Thought I would write down my goals for this month, to remind myself what I'm aiming for - thank you LL for your shining example!!
1. Eating more healthily, consisting of:
- no alcohol
- no junk/ convenience food
- low carb/ high protein diet
2. More exercise:
- abs & squat 30 day challenges
- C25K programme
- weekly exercise class
3. Use of money saving distractions to keep paying the DMP:
- Netflix subscription (just joined, it's great!)
- email friends
- and the MSE forums of course :T
By the end of January I'm aiming to:
- lose 5lb
- run a mile without stopping
- not have gone into the overdraft!
Phew. I think that's enough for now…..Finally debt free!! March 2018 :j0 -
So glad I found this thread - the sheer relief of reading about others like me has made me feel much better.
Sorry I'm late to the party - but would love to join your ranks of fab-u-lous-ness.
I'm 38, married, 2 kids (15 &12), and like I suspect many of you understand, have put myself last for far too long, and am so tired of feeling the way I do, low self esteem/unconfident/depressed.
5 stone to loose, at only 5ft 2, the only shape I'm in is 'round'.
I'm another one too scared to face scales at this exact moment in time.
Actions:
Signed up for 1st zumba class tomorrow.
Buying soap and glory foot file - read the reviews and is meant to be fab.
Get hair cut and coloured more often ( once in 18 months is not great!)
Have eyebrows waxed - done this before when family have bought me vouchers ( dropping hints methinks!)
Use up lotions, potions etc as per above that I have but sit in a cupboard.
Wear make-up every day even just a little bit.
Wear perfume every day - I have worn it more in last year and can say it does make me feel better.
Wear pedometer and increase steps daily - walk more, esp outdoors.
Eat healthy.
Spend less time on internet.
Sort out clothes.
Do not use winter/wearing trousers all the time as my excuse not to defuzz.
Smile more.
Be better role model for my kids.
Be better wife for my husband.
Try new recipes.
Get more organised.
This list could go on and on so I had better stop here.
Onwards and upwards

Hi all, I hope you don't mind me joining! I'm getting married in a couple weeks and part of the reason I want to get fab is so that I feel like I can be the wife that my soon-to-be hubbie deserves. [STRIKE]Re[/STRIKE]gain some feminine mystique. And I know I come across as quite frumpy, think a cross between an overgrown student and an old lady - not a good look for a 28 year old!
I made some changes last year and plan on building on them. First of all is prepping for the wedding, then grander changes are afoot.
Today I had a final sleep-in of the holidays, had breakfast then put on some basic makeup (bb cream, eyeliner and blusher) contacts and some perfume before heading over to our outside gym, aka the allotment. Home, body-brush, shower, de-fuzz, scented conditioner from Lush I've been stashing for ages 'for good.' Then I left out my outfit for work tomorrow (nice, non-baggy dress, black tights, black cardie) and de-christmassed the house. After dinner I gave myself and himself a bit of a manicure and told him I'll be doing it every night (moisturise and cuticles) from now till the big day.
I'm debating whether to pack my gym gear or not, I'm feeling a bit sniffy and not sure if it's just from the smoke from the fire we had going at the plot or the beginnings of a cold. In terms of diet, I'm back off bread after eating a lot over Christmas and cutting out the junk. Going to start upping my water intake as I know this makes a big difference.
Can't wait to the wedding, for obvious reasons of course, but I've agreed with myself that I'm going to splash out on a whole new cut and colour for my hair. I've been growing it for my up-do but I haven't managed to get much length, just past shoulder length. It's so thick and unmanageable at the moment that I'm only able to shove it back in a ponytail, I'd love to like it enough to wear it down or do something with it.
Phew, that was meant to be a short introduction post but I got a bit carried away!0
