For the hair problem try Schwarzkopf got2b dusting powder around £4 in Boots, Tesco, Sainsbury et al. Shake a bit in your hand, rub hands together then scrunch or smooth your hair with your hands.
Its not that we have more patience as we grow older, its just that we're too tired to care about all the pointless drama ;)

Thanks for the hair help. I will have to give it a go, but if you saw my daughters riotous curls you'd realise why it isn't so easy. Her hair is halfway down her back when wet. And around her chin once dry, such ringlets. I sadly don't have the ringlets any more but the bounce... yes.. that. I was called UFO head in school it stuck out so far either side of my head. :(

Happy birthday pirateyqueen!! Dress sounds lovely!! xx

    Good morning lovely ladies.

Phew - at least it's slightly cooler today. Ive not been outside much during the day - just too hot and very humid here, so ive been busy sorting out the study, now all done and looking fab, and a bit of essential wardrobe maintenance.

In the evenings ive been out in the garden, planted some summer bedding plants and some veggies. It looks quite pretty now although I think my cherry tree is dying, some kind of blight. Actually I don't mind, I bought the wrong sort so no great hardship.

Not weighed myself yet, but I think I'm doing ok, I'm eating healthily, no naughties.;) so we will just have to wait and see.

I'm going to give it one month, if ive not made any headway by then I will join a slimming club.

I whacked my knee on a brick wall, don't ask:rotfl: and have a technicolor bruise - matches the varicose veins......

Pirateyqueen belated birthday wishes and hope you had a fab day.

LL the gardens are definitely blooming at the moment, aren't they? I've decided to give our garden a bit of a lift, so off to buy some paint to revamp a wooden table and chairs, and a swing seat. I've bought some new seat cushions for the 4 chairs in the sale. They are a lovely soft blue and natural/light grey stripe that makes me think of the sea. I'm going for soft blues and greens for the paint to give a bit of a Coastal feel. That's the plan, anyway.

Didn't look very fab yesterday. After visiting my Mum in the care home we went to fill a skip with all the cr*p out of her garage and do some gardening for her. Hot and dirty - and not in a good way :rotfl:

So fab Friday, going to get fabbed as DH is off work and we are going out for lunch. Later I'm off to a women's group I go to and we will be outside on my friends land so looking forward to that.

HAVE A FABBY FAB FRIDAY EVERYONE :j

    Happy Fab Friday

Off to do some shopping, banking etc today - not sure what i will wear yet. Looks like another hot one, so something light and cool.

Rowan - loving the sound of your garden scheme - very coastal chic....;)

Good morning! Long time lurker & occasional poster :) Going to have a bit of a fab this morning & maybe do something to my hair. DGD does my roots for me and last week I gave her the wrong colour to use. Instead of Frosted Blonde I gave her the remainder of the colour I use for my lowlights  so now I look as if I need my roots doing :rotfl: Not sure whether to wait a couple of weeks & redo or get it done this weekend as it looks like I'm sunbleached (think I'm kidding myself!) Have a fab Friday everyone

Am letting my roots grow out after many years of dyeing, just to see if there's a level of grey that I can tolerate. It's not too bad but horribly frizzy so I tried coconut oil (with great advice and support from the folk on this forum) and it's nice and shiny now. Also had brows threaded yesterday after letting them grow out. The last girl was a bit vicious at the ends which are fairly blond - looked as if there was nothing there! Much nicer now but had to go through the Brezhnev phase first, yikes! And double ouch for the pain level after leaving it so long!
    Looking ahead

    Hello all!!

I fabbed myself up today and went to work in a lovely Joe Browns dress I haven't dared wear before. Got some compliments but all I could think of was my tragic pale legs :o

    Must try harder. ;)

Have a good weekend all xx

HD a lovely day, pottered about and sorted out the top of th cellar steps where I keep all my cleaning materials and kitchen overspill.

Then had a nice rest in the garden, not so hot today, just really nice and pleasant. Now have the beginnings of a gentle tan....I like to take it slowly and of course take great care with my face because of the cancer. I bought myself a huge sun hat which completely covers my face.

Tonight I got down to some serious Fabbing. Gave myself a skin peel. Just the B&&ts one, nothing too drastic. My skin feels lovely and soft and the pores across my nose look much better.

Im sitting here slathered in Vaseline. I always use it on my feet, knees and elbows but because ive neglected my skin a bit recently I have smoothed my arms and legs in the stuff.

Will just pat off any excess before I get into bed. Ive put nice clean bed linen on, I just love the feel of crisp clean bed linen.

just going to give myself a mini manicure.

    Keeeep Fabbing.

Just been catching up and hope you don't mind me delurking. Lilty, I splashed out on some body/face foundation/tint. It doesn't develop, it's just a wash off one that doesn't come off on your clothes. It's taken the white glow off my legs and given me courage to wear a skirt. As a consequence my legs have now had a bit of sun, so aren't quite so white, but I'm still using the tint.

I'm dabbing myself tonight with a CS long dress for £7.50. Done own nails and eye brows, but bought shoes, shawl, big Knicks, bag and hair cut. Under £60 not including hair cut. I may wear the dress again as I've another do coming up, but the rest will defo be utilised.

I was really interested in the skin peel, I sometimes feel I want a good scrub but find it too harsh
