    Afternoon All

Another glorious day today - it is so lovely to be enjoying the sunshine. I've had a good day fitness wise. I cycled to Yoga and back, then to a cafe to treat DS to lunch as it's his birthday and then he and I played tennis for an hour. For Fab Friday I wore a new racer back exercise top in a pale aqua colour teamed with cropped grey running pants. For my bike ride I topped it with a hand knitted fitted turquoise jumper with a cabled top that looks like little owls (like this). The jumper has self random slightly darker stripes in it too.

I had roast chicken for lunch with 4 different vegetables but no potatoes so that fits in with my healthy eating plan too. I've just persuaded DH (who is overweight and unfit and 67) to try to lose some weight and we have got his bike out so I am hoping to encourage him. I'm sponsoring him £5 per lb and £1 per mile but won't pay out till he reaches £100 on each thing. So expensive, but well worth it if it helps improve his health.

Must dash as we now have a quick trip to the cash and carry for work to fit in.

I love the way you're bribing your DH to lose weight. If it works don't knock it!!:rotfl:

    Jumper looks really cute.

I try to have potato free meals (just veg and protein) a few times a week too. I think it may be a British thing where it doesn't feel like a proper meal unless you have potatoes. Two tips I've used: one is to have carrots cut into big chunks the size of new potatoes, the other is to top a cottage pie with swede and carrot mash instead of potato. Both are filling veg but healthier than potatoes.

I've had my eyebrows waxed today and nails redone. We're out at French themed evening with a group of friends tomorrow so wanted to look well groomed.

Cooler here today but still bright and sunny.:)

    ooh la la :rotfl:

Yes I know what you mean about potato free meals, ok if you can have pasta, Cous cous rice etc but they Are right out for me. :rotfl:

Last night I had crab cakes with salad And brocolli, very strange and no substitute for The saute potatoes DS2 tucked into. Boy was I envious:rotfl: still needs must.

Day 3 today and I'm doing ok, chicken and stir fry tonight, DS2 will have noodles but I'll have to,pass on those too im afraid.

Dad will be staying in hospital untilMonday. They wanted to send him home today with no help or support. I know they need the beds but blimey o Riley that's just daft. He would be back in again within a couple of days.

I said to the nurse "can he lift a kettle with safety". She admitted she had no idea and that maybe she would get him assessed Ŷ the Occupational Therapist first.

    You gotta laugh:D

Well I've been shattered and a mass of aches and pains so I went back to bed this afternoon, all very nice but I didn't get anything done. :o

    Mañana ........maybe.

That's where roasted carrots work well. It's as if because you can cut into them like potatoes with your knife and fork you don't feel deprived. I do mine the SW way, so parboil for 5 mins, drain & shake, spread on baking tray and spray with Frylight to keep oil content down.

Crazy about your dad, hospital probably wanted to have a clear out before the weekend. But yet again, you pointed out the error of their ways. You're priceless.:)

Ohh I think I may join you on the whole fab Friday thing tonight! I'm going out for drinks tomorrow evening with friends for the first time in ages, which gives me an excuse to dress up and feel great, so it's time to prep :-)

Same here (although hardly the first time in ages for me:o). Hope you have a good evening.

I've had a bit of a pamper this morning and decided to use all Clarins products rather than the 'use it up' stuff I use every day. Did a defuzz too as I'll have to wear sheer tights tonight as too soon for bare legs and too summery for opaques.

Hair is getting a bit more manageable as it grows although I really hope my usual hairdresser's available next time. I'm almost at the end of the hair mousse too so will read back for the recommendations.

It's bright and sunny here but a cool wind. Hope everyone has a good weekend whatever you're up to.:)

    Afternoon All

I've had a busy day so far and have work tonight from 5. I was up early and out in the sunshine for a session of speed runs - part of my friend's training programme. Every time I think 'Why am I doing this - I don't even like running!'. Once we've finished though I feel euphoric, which is why I suppose I keep on putting myself through it.

I got home and had a coffee with DH then nipped out to the shops on my bike. I also dropped some home made cream cheese off for my running friend. On Wednesday I called in at the Co-Op on my way home and found some cream reduced down to 25p per pot. It was getting on for closing time so I offered to take it all if they reduced it more. What I hadn't realised was that there were 16 pots!! I took them all at 10p each and have made loads of butter and a large batch of cream cheese. It's the first time I've made cream cheese and I'm not one hundred percent happy with it as it's a bit tangy (it had some balsamic vinegar in it). So I've given a pot to my friend, turned some into a dessert by blending it with frozen raspberries and a little sugar, and some into smoked mackerel pate. There's still loads left plus at least 8 pats of butter in the freezer. Not bad for £1.60.

After my cooking sesssion DS dropped DGD off for a couple of hours so I took her swimming and when he collected her again we had a very late cooked lunch. I'm now debating whether to go and do an hour's gardening and then jump into the bath and wash my hair ready for work at 5 or just go and have a long soak and read in the bath.

    Have a good Saturday everyone.

    Hi all

LL - I hope your dad picks up soon!

We've booked our holiday - going to Hurghada in Egypt in June. My summer holiday footwear will be fine so it's just a case of whether I lose enough weight beforehand that my clothes/bikini's no longer fit. I do have a favourite jump suit by Next which is basically a boob tube with legs and I have mom's thighs which rub together (even at my slimmest) so that was my savior last year and I shall look out for a second one regardless.

OH and I have been together 10 years this month and we are going out-out next weekend as opposed to just out! :rotfl: I shall have to start prepping. I have ordered the boots that I have in black and red, in tan (I know I know) and I am hoping they'll look OK with a teal lace dress I have if I wear black tights. This is the one, it's a couple of years old now so would be nice to get my 4th/5th wear out of it!

Do you think it'd look OK with these:

And I have a tan leather jacket. I will have to go for a bag I already have though (can't afford my new handbag this month) but I have this one which will have to do:

You will look great, and I have serious boot envy, sadly only flats for me now though.:(
