Just caught up with this thread, it's very motivational to hear all your good plans :-)
I'm unwell with a cold at the moment, so I don't really want to do any exercise until I'm better. Definitely want to get summer ready when I can though!

I'm off work today but think I will use the time to have a bit of a pamper to feel better about myself. I have so many products to get using up.

Clothes wise I usually wear a skater style dress with leggings and a cardigan, or I'll wear skinny jeans, flared out top and a cardigan. I do want to try some new styles soon though as I feel I'm in a bit of a fashion rut at the moment, and want to look like the other "cool and well dressed" 20 somethings but not sure what will look good on my shape! Haha! :-)

Sounds like everyone is gaining some motivation from the sunshine :)

Maman, I wear socks with my Converse, more because I worry about them smelling if I don't! I also have some Hello Kitty Vans that are similar (ish) in style, and I think are more comfortable as they're more cushiony. My Converse are all high tops so I wear the Vans more in the summer as they're the lower type.

These ones, but the bows do come off!

So much for my relaxing day, got a call from the estate agents to say the flat we put an offer in and were outbid is available again, so we're just waiting to see if our offer is accepted this time. Argh! it needs loads of work doing, so that's my summer written off!
Managed to get my paperwork in order for the interview next week, cleaned out the kitchen cupboards (just the food ones, not all of them!) and got some cooking done. Oh and I got my result for my last OU assignment, quite pleased with it :D
Phew, I'm ready for bed already!

Just back from the hospital. Yes I did go dashing over there after all....::rotfl:

They have kept him in for observation., so I had to drive to the hospital,, pick up his keys, back to his flat for his meds, toiletries and bits and bobs, back to,the hospital. All in all about a 60 mile trip.

Still he's in the best place. He can't do much for himself. I reckon if he wants to carry on living indepently he is going to need carers, at least to help him in the mornings.

He's not going to like that one bit .......

His arm will take a while to,heal even though it's not broken, and they are concerned about his weight. I have to admit I saw him stripped down to his vest and I was shocked at how thin he is. I think he has been lying about his food intake, I don't think he's eating much at all.
    Anyway enough of all that.

Despite my awful day Ive eaten sensibly, i took a snack of nuts and seeds and some fruit with me, so didn't resort to hospital sandwiches.

I think this is what I'm going to have to do....very few cafes and fast food outlets do snacks that do not consist of bread.

Paleo is easy, except when you are out and about, so I'm just going to have to,get really organised and take food with me.

Well done beluga. You've had a very productive dsy, good luck with the flat.

Lots of positive vibes on here today. Keep em coming.....I need you to keep me on track.

Btw I watched a programme about which of our favourite foods are good for us....very interesting

Apparently you can add Vit d to mushrooms by allowing them to sunbathe for an hour:rotfl:

Also if you eat 1 red pepper and drink some carrot juice every day in 6 weeks your skin will be improved, texture and even skin tones apparently. Allegedly. :rotfl:

They are packed full of anti oxidents and carotin.

Worth a try for us pasty faced ones. I know that oily fish is very good for the skin and not just the heart and joints.

Re the charity shops. I've noticed prices creeping up lately, Some of thrm really are outrageous selling George and Primarni for more than you pay new. My two favourites for prices are Age Concern and Scope. We have a Sue Ryder which is extortionate.

I do get a lot of lovely children's things in the CS such as books, toys and shoes however the clothes for adults as LL said are often less expensive to buy new. We did go to ones a bit further away from us today and came back with lots of lovely educational toys that were a fraction of what they would have been new :D

After mentioning about my weight I am joining a slimming club to see if that can have a positive impact on my weight. At the same time I am going to implement a fabbing overhaul :D. The other day I met a previous acquaintance who commented that I used to be so slim and glamorous. As lacking in tact as the statement was it is quite true and the only one to blame is myself so I have decided enough is enough. This is not the first time I have had comments similar and I never cease to be amazed at how forward people can be on their opinion of my appearance :rotfl:

So tonight I am going to get started on the fabbing, watch this space ;)

You're right about your dad, so that takes a little pressure off you for the time being LL.

Eating out can be a nightmare trying to eat healthily and ironically hospitals can be the worst places of the lot. They sell some of the most appalling junk.

It's always worth having something like a banana or a couple of satsumas in your bag for emergencies. Just enough to take the edge off with a drink until you can get home to something healthier.

My favourite when I'm in town and hungry is Pret a Manger. They do a good Salad Nicoise and the dressing comes in a little pot so you can add as much or as little as you want. Failing that, you can have a salad in Subway. I can also have a jacket potato but not sure that's OK on Paleo.

Those Hello Kitty Vans are cute beluga. Good Luck with the flat, hope it works out this time and :T on your OU assignment.

Eyebrow wax for me tomorrow and will look in at nail shop and see how busy they are. Definitely joining in fab Friday. I'm feeling sooo much better since the weather changed and days are longer.

Just read your post rummer. I think if someone said that to me I'd be raving but well done you for using it to your advantage for motivation. When you've lost the weight I hope you meet them again.;)

Glad you had good buys for the children. I agree that CS prices can be outrageous for cheap tat. I think they shoot themselves in the foot as no one is going to pay that sort of money for worn out Primark things. What I do is browse when I have the time and sometimes I'm lucky, sometimes not.

Thanks for the food tips Maman. Proper restaurants are no problem, it's the cafes and snack type places that seem so lacking. and as you say hospital cafes are the worst place of all. :rotfl:

We have a Pret in our city and there seem to be quite a few Subways dotted around. I never even considered them, I just thought they did bread. Anyway you've given me lots of ideas. There does seem to be more salady type things around, just need to watch the dressings.

One thing that food programme did was very interesting. It showed about half a dozen typical cafe type meals and asked people to put them in order of how many calories. Burger and chips was surprisingly low and the cheese and pasta salad was the highest.

When desperate I often go for burger and chips, I actually like a nice burger, so I don't eat the bread, fill up on the salad, and eat just some of the chips, unless I'm starving., in which case I will just polish them off. I do like chips.

Although potatoes aren't Paleo, I don't intend to be anal about it, the odd portion of potatoes isn't going to be too much of a problem. My tummy is quite happy with them, it's just grains that are problematical.

    Fab Friday today.

Not sure what the day will bring. I'm awake far too early, I'll probably pay for it later;)

Well I am embracing fab friday today :D I have a nice and new to me top on with jeans a cardi and summery shoes. The shoes I think are going to rub so I will swap them for comfy ones before I go out.

A friend is coming for lunch and a long walk so I am looking forward to exercise and a good chat. The weather is not as nice as yesterday and there is a real chill in the air so I am going to have to pop on a jacket too.

Hair has been swept up and is due to be dyed tonight as the grey is beginning to make me look similar to an ageing badger :rotfl:
