Good morning lovely ladies. Another bright sunny day here. I was supposed to do some running about today but I am going to just have another quiet gentle day because I'm still feeling a bit drained. Shall go for a walk, potter about in the garden, do a Bit more wardrobe sorting, work on the mirror. Just nice "me" stuff.:rotfl:
Have got both boys here and the lovely M, my future DIL for dinner tonight, so I might do a bit of domestic godessing in the kitchen.
I had a lovely time with my friend last night, but unfortunately my tummy wasn't happy so I struggled a bit with the meal.
My food choices have not been great over the last few weeks so it's now back to the Paleo. A few days should see a big improvement.
And of course, it's now time to get serious and shift that weight:rotfl: so it starts today........
Luckily it's the right time of the year - lots of nice salads and "lighter" eating. So it's crab cakes tonight, and a colourful salad, and the young folk can have saute potatoes, then for pudding, pancakes and ice cream, maple syrup etc for them and some berries for me.
I'm still loving my new hair cut, it must suit me because I'm getting lots of compliments- which is of course very nice. Compliments are good.;)
I bought some new moisturiser the other day, from Costco. It's by Elizabeth Arden, ive used it in the past and quite liked it - not quite as good as dermalogica but at about 1/3 of the price.....:rotfl: I'll give it a go.
I struggle with summer shoes. I tend to buy canvas espadrilles and deck shoes for knocking about in. They don't last long of course but they are comfy. I do wear sandals and sometimes open toed mules/clogs. It all depends what's out there. I've not really stArted looking yet. I ought too really because I'm down to my last pair of sandals. They are ok For everyday but I could to with something a bit more dressy.
Have a great dsy.0 -
Afternoon Everyone,
It's another lovely sunny day today - a real boost to the spirits.
I've had a busy morning as I went for a 3 mile run first thing and then came and did a couple of hours in the garden. I weeded a border and did a bit of tidying and sweeping whilst the hens had free range over the back garden. I fenced off the border I was weeding but they had free rein over the rest. Unfortunately, I'd forgotten I'd some rhubarb peeping through in another bit and although they haven't eaten it they've broken off a couple of stalks.
Since then I've had some lunch and had a bath and washed my hair. I've put on a summer dress as it's so nice with a short sleeved cardigan. I shall have to get changed again later as its Circuits and Aerobics tonight but I thought I'd enjoy feeling summery whilst I can.

I read that quickly and thought OMG, LL has got the exercise bug as well. Then I read it properly!:rotfl:
Hope the evening with the family went well and well done for getting back to the healthy eating.:)Hi all
As well as the holiday I want to treat myself to a new outfit and a handbag so probably £150-200. Depending on when we decide to go away I can probably use my holiday clothes from last year otherwise my new outfit money will go towards that instead.
I keep the same sunshine holiday clothes from year to year. I'm very organised in that I have a list of what I need to take (whittled down from having taken far too much in the past) and when I get back I annotate it with things I've worn lots of/need replacing/could have done with etc to look out for the following year. For this year I've made a start with the new Birkenstocks now I need a short, natural fibre dress that will take me to and from the beach club and to lunch and also something from poolside to the pool bar for lunch. Difference is that the former means a walk through the streets the latter doesn't IYSWIM so length of skirt can vary.;)
Have a great holiday DD, do let us know what you decide to do.Maman make sure you try on converse before buying.
Thanks for the tip rummer. If they're not comfy then there's no point and could prove an expensive mistake. My friend that I was out with today had a pair of similar canvas shoes on today. I had to wear my Skechers as they were the comfiest for being on my feet most of the day. Not really suitable for a sunny day but as my ballet pumps were new I didn't want to risk them.
I agree that compliments are good LL. I had a compliment from a complete stranger today, made me feel really good. A lady I sat next to on the train said she loved my scarf. She said it made me look really casual and then (as she was going to work) we discussed what was suitable for business dress on a hot day. I think she envied the fact that I had a day of leisure ahead but we both agreed that the sun shining makes a difference whatever you're doing.
I've had a super day. Went up to London to meet a friend. We had coffee in the sun, then an hour or so at the National Portrait Gallery then a matinee (Shakespeare in Love) and then a drink and a snack. The weather was amazing and just wandering was great. I wore dark denim jeans, a white White Stuff top, my big navy and white scarf and took a short navy cardi (although I didn't put it on until 9.30 p.m) plus my Jackie O sunglasses, very glamorous.;)0 -
Good morning.
Maman - what a lovely day And what a fab outfit, very glamourous indeed.
Unfortunately DS1 and the lovely m didn't come for dinner. The night before she hurt her back and they ended up at the walk in centre at 3 am yesterday morning. Poor girl.
So it was just DS1 and I so we had lamb with lots of veggies and I stuck to the healthy eating. I am still terribly tired and feeling very drained. I didn't do much yesterday, slept for two hours on the sofa yesterday evening and then slept for 8 hours last night !!
I think my body is trying to tell me something.;) so I'm going to be sensible and listen - so plenty of TLC and r&r.
RUNNING. Moi :rotfl::rotfl: Even when I was a girl I couldn't run, I am the most unco-ordinated and ungainly "runner" you are ever likely to see........
My knees are troubling me so,I'm taking red krill oil capsules now. I've been taking them for about a week and am seeing some improvement but in all honesty I won't get any real relief until I shift some weight.
So my top priority now is the healthy eating and some gentle exercise.
I did some more wardrobe sorting. Most of my good summer clothes are size 16 and unfortunately ive crept up to an 18:( I really don't want to spend much money on new size 18s so I am mainly reduced to two pairs of jeans at the moment. I have enough tops so I might just buy a couple of lightweight trousers and hope that I can get down to a 16 fairly quickly before I buy anything else.
I'm hoping that as I lose weight I will feel less tired too.i can't really expect to be at peak energy levels when I'm lugging 4 stones of extra weight around all the time.
I feel like I have a huge mountain to climb, it's a bit daunting......0 -
Good morning everyone!
I have to say I love my Converse, but I buy a half size bigger than usual. Not everywhere sells the half sizes, but it's worth trying some on. Now I can buy online as they all seem to fit the same
I'm having the summer wardrobe dilemma as well - don't want to buy new stuff as I have loads that doesn't fit, and am hoping to shift some weight so don't want to waste money. It does mean that for now I'm stuck with a rather limited selection.
It's a nice sunny day again here, but I'm kanckered. The week seems to catch up with me by Thursday! I just seem to have too much to do atm, so nothing's getting my full attention. The CBT is taking it out of me as well, he's trying to encourage me to push my limits a bit so my anxiety levels are through the roof.
Today I shall take it easy, try to get a few things sorted and tidy the house a bit. I've got a persistent headache so lots of water for me. Nails and hair need sorting out and general maintenance stuff. If it stays nice I might take a book out in the garden (with a bottle of water!) and enjoy the sunshine.
Have a lovely day everyone0 -

I'm so glad you're listening to your body and getting all the rest/sleep you need LL. That has to ne number one priority in the short term.
I can empathise exactly with how you feel about the weight (same with you too beluga). I literally feel lighter on my feet (noticed it specially with my dancing) and it's a joy to be able to choose clothes from the front of the rails rather than rifling through the back. Ironically it was creeping up towards an 18 that motivated me. I refused to buy them and knuckled down.
It's not such a huge mountain if you do your own elephant trick. I lost just under 3.5 stone in 10 months and that was taking breaks for odd holidays and meals out so probably could have been faster but I think if you don't fit your healthy eating into normal life it won't work long term. I think it's best to focus on getting to each half stone milestone or even a weekly los of something/anything rather than look up at the top of the mountain just yet.
I know I've said this before but the CS made a big difference getting by when between clothes sizes. It's a habit that's stuck. I've had a bit of a pamper this morning and all clean clothes. That's the trouble with London, it can make you feel grubby. So today along with a clean jeans I'm wearing another White Stuff top (minky colour with cap sleeves) from the CS.
Thanks for your comment about Converse beluga. We have Office and Schuh locally so I'll probably try them on there and then maybe look online to see if the prices are any better.May I ask how you wear them in the summer? Do you wear little socks with them or bare feet?
I didn't eat very healthily yesterday. Although I had salad at lunchtime, far too much oil and mayo was consumed plus the wine syns so back on plan with a vengeance today.
Weather still lovely here. I've had a little exercise (dancing & walking) every day since Monday so I'll see if I can force myself out today too.:)0 -
You are right, I've just weighed myself and it's actually 3st 11.4 lbs I need to lose, so I agree it's doable and I have 14 months, so it should be ok.
I would love to go dancing but I think I'll lose some weight first. I feel like a baby elephant so will skip the dancing shoes for now.......
Just had a call - my dad is currently in A&E, with a sore arm. Dr didn't think it was broken but just double checking.
I know this sounds awful but I'm not racing over there, this is typical of dad,s attention seeking behaviour I'm afraid. He is something of a hypochondriac at the best of times and lately it has gotten worse. He insists on medical attention for every ache, pain and sniffle. I know he's 89 and scared of dying but it's getting out of hand......
I had a long discussion with my friend at dinner the other night, she is a psychologist. She knows my dad from way back when and she has told me that my dad is clearly suffering from Narcissitic Personality Disorder NPD. Her ex husband was a sufferer, so she has given me lots of reading material and coping strategies.
Anyway ive been reading up and it really does all fall into place. at least I now understand what I'm up,against and how best to cope........I was beginning to think it was me, that I was losing my marbles and all sense of proportion.
Apparently this is exactly how NPDs operate, under mining those around them.......It all makes sense now.;) but at least I know how to take it from here and I can stop torturing myself that it's all my fault for antagonising him......:rotfl:
Sun is coming out and I'm off to do all the errands that I should have done yesterday.....0 -
I am going to lose the weight this year as I have been moaning about it for years and doing very little about it!
Maman the CS near where I live are far too overpriced and as a result I rarely purchase any clothes from them although I do keep checking. Supermarkets are often good for inexpensive purchases and I have quite a few things from Peacocks too as I really like the fit of their dresses.
Yesterday I wore sandals and it was only later in the day I realised the shocking state of my feet  My feet have never really needed attention before but they are dry and looking a bit ragged so I am going to give them the full pamper treatment to get them summer ready.
There is also a need for a general top to toe pamper so I am going to schedule some child free time to shut myself away in the bathroom and spoil myself to get me back on trackTaking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
Seems like everyone has been enjoying the beautiful weather! It's a bit cooler here today and seems like it will stay like this for the weekend. It's not cold, but why can't the 23 degree weather come at the weekend instead of during the week when I can't enjoy it?!
I'm very fed up with my hair at the moment and don't know what to do about it. It's very fine and very straight, and of course, I loved the textured, wavy, beachy hair that I can never seem to achieve. Every time I've had my hair done and have asked for it messy and beachy they've always blow dried it completely straight and sleek. It's also very whisky and split at the ends, but its already only at should length so I don't really want it much shorter. What to do, what to do?No more goo hoarding!
