LL, it's good to read your chirpy post - but please don't do too much until after Monday is behind you. I hope your sister is feeling better, and that your dad has been down to the Co-op again!

Am a bit un-fab today - my lovely burnt orange shellac nails are all bare, as it began to chip so I did the unforgiveable in a couple of meetings this week & peeled it all of :o Also need to sort out my hair - I tend to put it up for work as it looks more professional but at weekends I like to either leave it to dry naturally (DH says it's my Robert Plant look!) or blow dry it into sleek waves with my Babyliss big hair thingy. Toenails need doing (first time this year ) and my decolletage needs some intensive moisturising!

No allotment today as DS1 is coming to visit so need to do some chores...will go & do a couple of hours there after he's gone home tomorrow afternoon.

    Question for you all
What is your style for clothes? Is it what you have always liked or has it changed?

I have pretty much been consistent, although since gaining weight when I was 21 (went from a size 6-8 to a 14-16) I tend to be more self conscious about my arms, stomach and legs. Jeans and a t-shirt, or black trousers for work. I do try and stick to figure hugging as I kept my small waist.
I always obey the golden rule "cleavage or legs, never both at the same time"...and I wouldn't be seen dead in plastic hoop earrings.:rotfl:

Definitely! And either heavy on the lipstick or the eyes, never both ;)

Ladies, all this talk of exercise and weight loss made me think about mine. I want to loose just over a stone, as my weight has been creeping up over the last few years, particularly since I've had children.

I settled down to read this thread and went for a jog instead!!! I ran about 2-3 miles and feel really good. I work full time and when I'm not working, I'm with my OH and young children, so I don't really get much time to myself. It really was a last minute decision, but I'm glad I forced myself to run.

    :j:j:j good for you Chanie.

I've got my new bike now so gave it the first outing on Saturday. Came home and ordered the cycling knickers  felt much better after a hot bath, face mask and hair treatment,
There's a pilates class starting tomorrow so I'm going to ring in the morning and see if they have any spaces. I'm on a mission to get fit for summer.

Hope you all had a fab weekend.

Morning ladies, I'm feeling the ache from last nights run!!!!

I must admit, I do quite like the feeling, although there is a fine line between a 'nice' exercise ache and that uncomfortable one.

I'm bare-legged for work this morning, for the first time this year. However, I didn't shave my legs*, so I feel a bit hideous. Luckily, I don't have any meetings at work today, so I hopefully I can hide under my desk.

    * I sometimes start work really early and you know that saying 'did you get dressed in the dark?', that's me!! I have been known wear some weird combos due to being half asleep when I'm getting up and washed.

:T on the exercise chanie and great that your new bike has arrived rowan.

FWIW, exercise didn't help me with weightloss. I found that nothing shifted until I changed the way I was eating. BUT, I'm not knocking exercise as it's great for toning muscles, building strength and a general feeling of wellbeing.

I know that 'got dressed in the dark feeling'. My worst ever was wearing one navy and one black shoe as I had two identical pairs. Navy/black tights frequently got mixed up.:o

I haven't done bare legged yet (except for no socks with espadrilles and jeans) but I have defuzzed my legs this morning in readiness. Did a mini facial too and took the polish off my toenails. I've booked myself a chiropody appointment for next week. My feet are in good condition now but I want to have my nails cut properly. Eyebrow waxing booked for Friday so keeping on top of it all.

Not much on today except dancing tonight. Have a good one everybody.

    Afternoon All.

Hope everyone is having a good day. I've had a frustrating time trying to sort out an upgrade of our Broadband and Phone Package today. I had a 50 minute call on Wednesday and assumed all was ok but then nothing happened. I've had 2 separate 35 minute calls today trying to sort things out! Hopefully it is all ok now but I won't believe it until it actually happens which now isn't until the end of next week.

Apart from that frustration I've had a lovely few days. I've had DGD 3 days in a row and lunch out twice with family. My diet is still going well despite the celebrations and I've lost 4lbs over the past fortnight so well on track to achieve 8st 12lb by the 7th of June when I do the 10K.

I had a six mile run this morning. I've also had a couple of energetic days with DGD as we've been running races. She helped me with a bit of tidying in the garden on Saturday and was having fun being whizzed around in the wheelbarrow.

I have work tonight but don't start till 7 so will be a nice short shift after the 5 or 6 hour ones over the holidays. I've picked up another jersey wrap dress in a charity shop - V neck and 3 quarter sleeves in shades of deep purple and black with splashes of turquoise and white so shall wear that. I've just had a nice hot bath washing hair, defuzzing, filing feet etc so now need to go and sort out blow drying and getting dressed.

Maman I too have been at work with one navy and one black court shoe in the past from when I used to get dressed in the bedroom when ex OH was still in bed. I didn't notice till half way through the day but once I had I felt as though everyone was looking, even though they probably didn't notice either. These days we use our guest room as a dressing room and keep all our clothes in there so I don't have the problem any more, although I have been out with odd earrings recently!

Glad it's not just me then!:rotfl:

You're doing really well on the weightloss especially as you've had meals out!

Grrr:mad: to not getting good service. I was trying to do an ISA transfer through the Post Office, had to be done by post but although I sent it recorded it missed the deadline for financial year due to Bank Holiday. Well actually it got there in time but they didn't process it. Tried again last week and interest rate had magically dropped overnight! So Plan B we try the Leeds BS and it has to be done by Tuesday before their interest rate is withdrawn too. So tomorrow we'll be camping out at Leeds BS Office until it's sorted.
