Have you got any cycling knickers? if not they are worth their weight in gold! Does feel like you are wearing a nappy, but small trade off, if not wear your knicks inside out so that the seams are not digging in! When I recently started riding a bicycle again after a very long time, at first I wore cycling knicks under cycling trousers LOL.The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. Maddiemay - no but I will buy some now thanks. OH has padded cycling shorts but too big for me.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0

Afternoon All
I hope you are all having a lovely Easter Monday.
I've had a busy day. I was out for 8 am for a five and a half mile run and the weather was glorious - bright sunshine. My friend has persuaded me to join her on the 10k run she is training for in June so I shall have to up my training to 3 days a week for the next few weeks. It should help me on my weight loss challenge anyhow, I hope. Speaking of which, I lost 2 and a half pounds for the first week which I am quite pleased with. Especially as I cooked a big meal yesterday for the family - roast pork and home made stuffing with apple sauce, roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings, sweet potato mash, cabbage, carrots, peas, and gravy. My Mother provided a pudding which was a toffee and honeycomb concoction on a base of chocolate biscuit!
After my run today, we went out and I took my Mother for a walk round a local beauty spot whilst DH went to an aquarium shop for some water for his sea horses. We had lunch on the way back - I had salad with goats cheese and pine nuts and declined the bread that came with it. I'm now going to try and get some hair on the doll I've made DGD - she loved the ones I made for her Mum's new shop so I said I'd make one for her. DGD is coming for tea and I shall take her home at bedtime and babysit till DS and DDiL get back about 10.30. You commented work is flexible Mrs CD - that's because it is DS's business where I work and it was he who asked me to cover a busy half hour. I was supposed to be working today but a colleague swapped a shift with me so I have a day off today and will work Wednesday instead.
I wore my leggings and wine coloured jumper dress for our walk and lunch. Rather than put a coat on I put an extra top underneath and then just accessorized it with hat and gloves as the sun had gone in by then and the wind was chilly.
Right, now I need to get the washing in, sort out tea for later (left overs from yesterday) and get the hair on my life size doll before 4.45.

I joined in with this thread a few years ago and could do with popping back in. Weight wise I'm a lot lighter than I used to be, but I could do with losing a little bit more really. I just generally feel a bit yucky and frumpy lately, so it's time to feel fab once again
I think I'll have some dinner and then get straight into pampering...
hope you don't mind me joining!

Had my hair loose over the weekend - unusual for me. While "fiddling" with it I realised the ends were very, very straggly.
So this morning I took my scissors to it, and took off enough to neaten it up - guess it was about 1.5" in total !!
Even though I hadn't noticed how bad it had got, I feel a lot better for having done itNote to self - check ends for straggliness at least once a month !

Hi Everyone,
I hope you all had a lovely bank holiday weekend.
Quick update from me:
1) OH and I de-cluttered the shed yesterday - we can finally see the back of it, but it will won't be long before it gets full again!!
2) I went for a run yesterday - I needed to get my new train ticket, so I thought I'd kill two birds with one stone by jogging.
3) an 'unfab' day for me. I'm staying at my Mums as she is looking after the children for the Easter holidays, so I literally bought the bare minimum with me for the next two nights. I did, however, do my make up on the train, so all is not lost.0 -
Hello all,
A quick clock in. I have booked my second part of my induction at the gym tomorrow & I have an appointment to get a programme made up on friday. Trying to make a small start on a routine as I need to get moving
Hope all is well0 -
Hello lovely ladies
Very quiet on here. Hope you are all well and have had a lovely Easter.
I'm still feeling a tad delicate, still coughing a lot, my ribs are really sore. Still tired and woozy at times.
I never knew you could special knickers for cycling - they sound like a great idea. I did try cycling in Spain but got very sore.
Not much planned today. A gentle potter inside and out, a gentle stroll and just generally catch up with some paperwork.
I have to take dad for a hospital appt tomorrow but other than that I am going to take things easy and just pace myself so that I can get through the funeral next Monday.
Ive got a physio session booked for Friday so that should help.
Im still feeling wiped out and have very little energy so it's just baby steps for the next few days. At the moment imfeel like I'm existing rather than living.
Hey ho, this too shall pass........0 -

I just ignore mine.:o There have to be better things to do with your time.
Good to see posters old and new over the weekend:).
I'm loving the new April goals and completely agree with what you said about decisions/routines rose. I go to a dance class on a Monday evening and although I have to push myself occasionally it's a commitment and I always enjoy it when I get there. Left to myself I'm just lazy but I don't really want to commit to other classes. I think perhaps I'll start recording walks in my diary so I can see some tangible evidence.
I like the idea of using the full length mirror to decide whether an outfit is one I want to keep or not. Since I kondoed my jumper drawer I realise that there's a load in there that are untouched. I just haven't worn and don't want to. Allowing for seasonal reasons I do need to cull that drawer.
For everyday wear with my jeans I have Skechers Mary Janes a bit like these
http://www.skechers.co.uk/style/13522/skechers-gowalk-everyday/bkw
but they're not really suitable for skirts and anyway they're getting a bit old and too hot for the summer. I keep looking for smart ballet pumps, got a pair from Sainsbury's last week but yet to wear them. I'm not a huge one for sandals (throwback to before I sorted out my feet). I was thinking of Converse. Any views?
Congratulations on your impending grandchild lizzie. One of the things I liked doing with mine when they were little was taking them for a train or bus ride. As they were usually taken everywhere by car it was great fun (for both of us;)).
I do hope the antibiotics are kicking in LL. I have a recurring back problem (not recurred for a while fingers crossed:D) but I won't go anywhere without the painkillers and amitriptyline that are about all that works when it comes on. Checked my stock before the weekend away and had to search a number of handbags for enough. I must ask GP for more.
I had a good time in Harrogate and a lovely afternoon in Ripon on Sunday. Hair was a bit disastrous over the weekend as I've not get used to new cut and soft water plays havoc. So today with a bit of chalky water and mousse it's looking better. I also ate far too much and didn't have enough (soft;)) drinks so a bit dehydrated. Back on plan today though and I must push myself out for a walk in glorious sunshine.0 -
Afternoon All
It's been a beautiful day here today so I've dug out some more summery clothes - beige/cream crop trousers teamed with a black scoop neck Monsoon top, cream loafers and black and silver jewellery. It feels great to be wearing something a bit different too.
I've had a busy day one way and another. I had a 3 mile run first thing and a weigh in. I've dropped down to 9st 12lbs so only one more stone to go. As I hoped it's a real incentive to keep eating properly knowing I'll be getting weighed with my friend each time.
Once I'd got home I spent 50 minutes on the phone to BT renewing my contract and managed to get a lot of significant upgrades without spending much more than I am now. They all come into force next week so I shall be interested to see how fast the internet will be with Infinity.
I went into work for a couple of hours after lunch to cover a busy period and phone a few orders in but was able to come home then as we had enough staff on to cover. Since then I've done a bit of tidying in the garden (just sweeping the patio etc) whilst I let the hens out for a bit of a scratch in a different bit of the garden and DH and I have swapped a television around. DS had given us one a while back but it has started playing up so we've replaced the slightly smaller one we already had back in its original place. That meant a bit of sweeping and dusting as it was in an inaccessible corner that we had to access.
Tonight I am hoping to finish the life size rag doll I've made for DGD. It only needs a couple of extra rows of hair stitching on so shouldn't take long. I'm just hoping I don't get a call from work as I'm on standby in case it is busier than expected.
