Rowan- happy birthday

LL & Rowan- hugs on being poorly both are horrible things that get you down, hope you are both on the means very soon.
Rose excellent goal setting- I think I will join you.
For April:-
1) I would like to have completed my second induction to gym so I can go rather than using classes or avoiding as I have been doing lately. No excuses!!
2) start regularly moisturising from the chest down to feet as this seems to get an occassional after thought rather than regularly done.
3) continue cutting down on sugar and stop kidding myself! - continue loosing 1lb a week.
4) continue with mirror check and better combination of clothes on leaving the house
5) regular minimum make up on leaving the house- stop being lazy!!
I think that will do for the moment- just trying to get myself looking for 'put together' looking like a student is not acceptable ... Unless intentional

Happy Birthday Rowan. Hoping you're feeling bit better today and able to enjoy your birthday. Also hope you're feeling better LL. I'm feeling a bit stronger myself and looking forward to going away tomorrow, though I'll have to take it easy when I'm there. Have a nice weekend everyone.0

Afternoon Everyone
Happy Birthday Rowan and hope you are feeling better. I also hope you are on the road to recovery LL. I hope everyone else is having a great Easter weekend.
I've had a busy day so far. I had DGD for a few hours this morning but also had to nip into work (with her) for forty minutes to cover a busy period. DGD was very good and sat on a stool reading. She got lots of attention the rest of the day though - we've built dens, had an Easter egg hunt, done some painting and had races down the road on the way home from work. I've dropped her off now and am having a few minutes on the computer before I go to work for my official shift at 5.
I got up early this morning and went running. My friend persuaded me to join her in her speed runs so we did 6 sets of 400 metres fast (well fast for us) with a 2 minute walk between. We are getting weighed every time we've been for a run so 3 times this week. I know a lot of experts suggest only weighing once a week but I actually find it better weighing more often as it focusses me more. If it's a good number I a motivated to keep going, and if its not so good I get back to trying harder immediately. MrsCD I too am trying to keep off sugar and increase my insulin sensitivity as I think it makes me too hot in bed. I also do feel suddenly very tired occasionally and wonder if that is affected by sugar intake too.
One of my new buys this week hasn't been as successful as I hoped. I bought a lovely pair of black shoes with a small heel for work like this. I wore them round the house for an evening and they were really comfortable so wore them for work last night as I was only in for a short time covering a busy period. They were fine for working but I've found I can't walk in them comfortably as they are higher cut than normal and are rubbing on my toe joint. I am going to try them again tonight as I can have a lift home and also wear something over the joint to stop it rubbing. I am wondering if it is partly because they are a size 4 and I am really a 3 so my feet slip forwards when I walk rapidly. I did think of putting a small amount of stuffing in the toe to see if that helps. I got them reduced to £11.20 so didn't spend too much on them but would rather get the wear out of them.
Happy Easter everyone

Hello everyone
Feeling a bit brighter today but very tired. I do feel rather wiped out. I'm trying to do a bit of cleaning and tidying up, but not getting very far. I keep, having to sit down and rest.
I have just sortes through a pile of mums clothes for the chazza and the rag bag. So sad.......I really need to go through their cottage but I just can't face it at the moment.
Anyway ive half heartedly cleaned the oven and sorted through a pile of junk mail and papers, so it's progress.
My goals for April aren't very exciting and basically, it's just to try and get better and build up my energy levels.
1. Carry on decluttering. Just my own things. mum and dads house can wait. I'm just going to concentrate on myself for a while.
2. Have a wardrobe sort out.
3. Go back to Paleo eating as best as I can, at least I can reduce the carbs and cut out most of the wheat.,
4. Get out in the fresh air as and when we have some decent weather. I'm looking very pale so need to try and put the roses in my cheeks.
Not much of a list this month, but I think I really need to take things easy for a while.
It's the funeral on Monday 13th, I think I've worked out my outfit. I bought a black/green/turquoise wrap dress the other day, so shall wear that with my turquoise coat black tights, black shoes. I decided the squinned dress was too short and a bit clingy.
I'm loving my new pixie hair cut a la Judi Dench. Very quick and easy.
And I think it makes me look a bit younger, or at least not quite so drawn and haggard:rotfl:
Right back to finish the oven and then cook dinner and that will be it for today.
Have a lovely Easter Day.0 -
Thanks you for the birthday wishes, my birthday is on Monday so hopefully I will be fully recovered by then. My ear is a bit better today, not hurting so much but still swollen and I can't hear much.
Went to collect my bike today but they'd ordered the wrong one, so not getting it now till next week. I felt like throwing myself on the shop floor and having a tantrum like a 2 year old, beating my fists on the floor and wailing " but it's my present and I want it now" :rotfl:
Other news is that Ive got a job interview on Wednesday, so need to check out what I will wear.

Happy Easter weekend, fabbers.
I went shopping on Thursday during my lunch break and tried on a dress. I knew it wouldn't suit me and it didn't. I don't even know why I bothered. I would really recommend researching your body shape as it really does make shopping easier. I then went to another shop and bought a going out top. It's more smart casual than glam, but can be dressed up or down. I don't really go to any glam places anymore, but if I did, I'd probably wear a dress or skirt.0 -
Rowan Happy Birthday for Monday :bdaycake:
Hope you feel better by then. Your bike tale reminded me of the story in the Simple Things mag about the lady who joined the little girl having a tantrum on the floor and started kicking her legs in the air! She said it was 'solidarity'!:) I know how she felt. Sometimes I would like to join in and have a paddy.
LL look after yourself and do little steps.
Rose It sounds like you've had a great time with DGD. It's a wonder you have the energy to go to work after all that! What sort of work do you do? It must be quite flexible to allow you to take her with you.
These are the shoes I wear for work, as I have to stand in the shop for hours on end!

I did a 9.30-6.00 day today, and I'm back in on Monday to do it all over again. I quite like it when it's busy - the time goes much quicker.2025 Fashion on the ration

Good Morning All,
Congratulations Lizzie, I hope everyone is well and having a restful weekend.
Not very much fabbing being happening with me as this blasted chest infection refuses to leave!!!!! We had to miss a family party yesterday as i am coughing up a lung every few minutes (ok i may be slightly exagerating there) but i am still feeling rough.
Supposed to be going to DS's house later to deliver their easter gifts to the three DGD's. There were no eggs left so DH got bars of chocolate instead. I just hope that they don't mind!!!!
Keep on fabbing

MrsCD your post made me smile when you said 'have a paddy'. Because that's what my Mum says. Then I saw you are in Durham, and that's where my Mum and Dad came from.
