Morning Everyone
I've just got back from a 5K run. I was feeling a bit lethargic and bloated so we took it easy but I feel a bit better now, though I've put a lb back on since the last time I weighed. Hopefully, its just water weight though.
I've got a hair appointment this afternoon so will be able to sit back in the chair and enjoy being pampered whilst I read a magazine. It's not my usual hairdresser though so I hope she does a good job - my usual one is off work for 8 weeks having had a knee operation.
I am hoping to spend a couple of hours this morning in the garden with DH once he gets back from a hospital run (he does Voluntary Hospital Driving and has someone in a few minutes). We visited a garden centre on Sunday and have a load of tomatoes, runner beans, spinach, courgettes and cucumber to plant out in the back garden. I also have some bedding plants to put in the front. So I won't be looking very Fab till after lunch when I go to the hairdressers. I am not sure what I'll be wearing then, depends a bit on whether the sun comes out or not.
Hope everyone has a good day.

Hi everyone,
I've had a very productive morning so far. I have an appointment this morning so I will be going into work after, so I thought I'd get busy:
Like rosewood I went for a run,I think it was about 1.5 miles. I don't live in an area with nice places to run, so I'm trying different routes to find a nice one. This is the third run I've done recently, so I really want to keep it up.
When I go back, I baked a Victoria sponge for ds birthday tomorrow - he's having a party on Saturday with a huge cake, so I wanted to have a small cake for tomorrow. I'm not a baker, but I had the ingredients and it turned out nice. I then did a quick body brush, bathed and washed my hair.0 -
My goodness what a lot of early birds and busy bees on here this morning. Just reading about all your running and activity is wearing me out.:rotfl:
Wel, right now I'm multi tasking, typing on my IPad whilst sat in the sun soaking up,Vitamin D........
I' shall get going in a minute, honest.
Actually this morning I have sorted out my health insurance. I managed to shave £15 a month by switching to Saga:eek: but the real bonus is their dental cover is more generous which means I don't have to either take out denplan or fork out for treatments, so all in all I reckon I e saved at least £60 a month, so a great result.
Ive also grabbed the bull by the horns and booked a consultation at the Fibro clinic. I am feeling a bit better thanks to eating clean and Paleo style but I know I can make further changes but I think I need some extra guidance. The fibro clinic will include seeing a nutrionist so. It should be helpful to me.
I went out for dinner last night at one of my favourite restaurants and tucked into a luscious juicy steak and healthy salad. I allowed mysel just half of the chips..... This morning ive lost another 1lb. Wahoo. So that's 2.8 lbs in 6 days.
Marzipan - welcome, sounds like you've made a fantastic start, well done on the weight loss, that's brilliant.
DD65 - love the idea of a weight loss shopping spree, that what's i going to do too....
Towser - how is it going.....have you started thinking about your outfit yet.
Right time to get cracking......
Have a great day, y'all. Xx0 -
Don't worry LL, I'm not an early bird!;) Whenever I can I have a leisurely breakfast and read the newspaper before venturing out.
Well done on your weightloss so far. I don't recommend daily weighing as it can fluctuate so much but it is tempting. No problem with a few chips provided it doesn't disagree with you (I must read up on Paleo) but you know the steak and salad are good.
Welcome marzipan. You're obviously doing really well on SW. I did much the same as you. Lost the weight, then joined this thread as I needed to do something with the new slim me.
There's a great SW thread on here. Both rummer and myself post there regularly. It's as friendly and supportive as this one and you'd be very welcome to drop by. There are a few of us target members on there.

Hope the hairdo worked out OK rose. It's always a bit risky trying a new stylist.
I've been out for lunch today. Lovely restaurant, bright and airy and great food. It's in a nearby city that I've not been to for a while so I'll go again and have a browse while I'm at it.
I wore dark, denim jeans, a white White Stuff top and a short chambray jacket with a scarf to pull it all together. Felt the jacket made it a bit smarter than my usual cardi. I'm delighted this weather is holding for so long as my Raybans really set off the look.
Another fabbing day tomorrow as I'm up early for a meeting and then home to go off for my chiropody/pedicure appointment. DH and I are planning a cheap and cheerful Weatherspoon's curry tomorrow night. Hardly healthy eating but we'll enjoy it.:)0 -
Thank you for the welcomes!
Maman, I admire you in that from what I have read you are maintaining a healthy weight and enjoying an active social life, too. Inspiration for us all! I may pop over to the slimming world thread, thank you.
Today I have loosely plaited the side of my hair into a ponytail, looks very feminine rather than the usual scraped back look! My hair has really grown recently and I am enjoying experimenting with different looks. My hairdresser has given me the top tip of it doesn't Have to look neat all the time, so I've listened to her and am enjoying the results.
Cleansed and moisturised, using up Christmas No7 protect and perfect I love their products. Skin feels amazing just now. May have another go with the self tan mousse before bed..... Looking less pearly white at the moment!
Happy fabbing, take care ladies x x0 -
Hi all, I'd like to join you all if thats ok?
I've been reading the thread from the beginning over the last 2 days but am still only at page 9 but thought I ought to introduce myself!
I'm a sahm to two boys (9&6) and since I've had them I haven't really looked after myself at all. Earlier in the year though I watched a programme that really made me think (actually about the cost of the food in my food stores) but it got me decluttering, using up, making do etc in all areas of the home not just in the kitchen, so I have already started with makeup/perfume so this thread really seemed perfect for me to dip my toe in!
I should lose at least 6st to get to healthy weight (currently 5ft 2 and nearly 16st) For the past year I have gone to the gym 4/5 times a week (with a pt twice a week) I have improved my fitness loads but still haven't got to grips with the food side. I need to come up with stratagies to help this as I binge often and its linked in with depression/anxiety. If I try focusing on losing weight I end up on a vicious cycle of binge/feel crap/binge.
Sorry that turned into a long post!!
Hope you don't mind.Following :money: to keep us debt free :j0 -
Hi all
Welcome Hannah
Had a good night with good company last night - went out without a cardigan/jacket and surprisingly was warm enough all night.
Rushed home for my first Weight Watchers meeting today.. I'm not certain what I make of it yet. My first goal is to lose 9lb which apparently is about a dress size. I weigh myself in kg so keep having to convert it.
I have a flat to see tomorrow afternoon, it is most probably "the one". Of course, it would be, given we just booked a holiday :rotfl: Maybe I'd best maintain my weight so I don't have to fork out for a new bikini and can spend the money on stuff for the flat instead.
My tan boots have arrived - love them of course! I am WFH tomorrow but will bear fab Friday in mind.0 -

Just wanted to add - I am exactly the same. This is why I have joined WW. I have been going to the gym since 2008 and I am fit and I am strong and exercise is a way of life for me; it comes second on my priority list (after the horse). But I am fluctuating between the same 5kg range because I do really well then have a crappy day and stuff my face and then fall off the band wagon majorly.
What helps me is weighing every day. I know it's a lot and some people worry I obsess about it. I don't though. Instead it motivates me, because either I see the number after the decimal point reduce daily or I've maintained or gone up and I rationalise why. Sometimes though it's not enough, so I'm hoping the accountability of the WW weigh in will help keep me going even if my mood is low.
Are you having any treatment at all for the depression/anxiety?0 -
Morning All
It's glorious sunshine here again today. I caught the sun a bit yesterday as I joined a tennis class and was out in it for longer than I realised I was going to be. So I've got a bit of a red face - not burnt but redder than it should be. Not a good look!
Welcome all the new people. I too weigh daily as I find it more motivating (usually). I tried not weighing at all for a while as I didn't want to get obsessive but found it didn't suit me. I'm not doing too well this week after a good start so need to try harder. I know what I'm doing wrong - just eating a bit too much as I am doing so much exercise and rationalising that therefor it doesn't matter - but it does.
I've got Yoga this morning and coffee after with my friends. I am hoping I might fit a game of tennis in with DS this afternoon too if he's not too busy.
So although it's Fab Friday I'm not looking especially Fab, particularly with the red face! However, I'm wearing an aqua racer back T-shirt with grey knee length running trousers, both of which are quite nice. I shall put a navy and white striped hooded jacket on over it when I go out and flat white loafers as I don't need trainers for Yoga.
Have a good day everyone

Welcome Hannah :T
I had a fab day yesterday, met a friend at the World Peace Cafe at the Buddhist centre which is in beautiful grounds. Got dressed up all nice and summery, had healthy lunch and a walk.
Not so fab today as I must clean the house so am in my scruffs. Later I've promised to walk my neighbours dog as she is out for the day.
Then perhaps a shower and a bit of beautification for dinner in the garden with my man.
Sun is shining beautifully here today and I hope it keeps up for my bike ride tomorrow.
Have a Fab Friday lovely ladies :cool:Crazy clothes challenge 2017 - 30/3000
