    Good Morning Everyone!

Not a good morning for me so far - car alarm woke me at 7 & neighbour told me its been going through the night! Didn't hear it 'cos we sleep at the back of the house. Will be apologising to the neighbours.
Weighed myself this morning - 2 fast days and I'm still the same weight :( & I havn't pigged out on the other days. Maybe it will suddenly go down next week - sigh.
Not doing much today - mainly at home so only basic fabbing.
Have a good Friday everyone x

silvasava I'm experiencing the same on the 5:2. Been doing it for a few weeks and not seeing much change. I'm not overcompensating on the other days, so not sure why I'm not seeing more change.

I have a day at home today and the rain is coming down so I think I'll do a few chores and do a bit of pampering (facial, mani & pedi and shave my hairy legs  )

Have a Fab Friday everyone :j

10,000 Posts Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
Been at mums bedside all day. She's just drifting in and out of consciousness. She had a couple of lucid moments when she opened her eyes, recognised me and smiled, and then held my gaZe for several minutes. It was lovely.

I have been shoving strawberries under her nose to sniff and then just running them across her lips, she gives a little smile and licks them. I
Also let her sniff some daffodils we bought her. My sister has been sleeping in her room at night and she plays mums favourite music, Jim reeves, cliff Richards, Edith Piaf.

She's on end of life meds now and is pAinfree and comfortable, which is the main thing.. I think we are on the final stretch now, just a few days I think. The priest gave her the last rites yesterday, I don't think she wanted it, but dad wanted it so I didn't argue.

It's very difficult. I know mum wanted a simple civil ceremony but dad is insisting on a Catholic Church. I spoke to the priest yesterday and told him no full Catholic mass, just a simple service but I just hate the idea.

The words to the last rites were horrible, all about sinning and forgiveness. I wanted to scream and say my mother was not a sinner, she was a good and kind person.......

I know dad has the right to choose, but it's just not what my mum would have wanted. Do I risk WWIII or do I just grit my teeth. I wish mum had put her wishes in writing.

I have sorted out a dress for her, I just need to take it to be dry cleaned. It's a lovely silver grey crepe dress that she bought for her 40th wedding anniversary, over 25 years ago. I remember taking her to Nottingham to a very exclusive boutique. It was reduced to half price, £85, 25 years ago so you can imagine how gorgeous it is.

I can remember her face when she saw the price tag and me encouraging her to buy it. :rotfl: afterwards I took her for afternoon tea at a swankey hotel and we giggled like naughty schoolgirls for spending so much money ......

I have some silver grey sequinned slip on shoes that she can have to go with it. I know she would love them.

She is so thin now and so tiny, like a little bird but at least she will be at peace soon. She has been ready to go now for a while.

I think I'm going to have to be the one to do the eulogy, my dad and my sister won't be able to so its up to me. I'm very nervous. I think I will type it up and then either Ds1 or my close friend can step in and read it for me if I crumple. Can't think how else to play it really.

Anyway enough of my prattle I really must try and get some sleep, I'm exhausted but beyond sleep ifyswim.

Thinking of you LL. I've been there with both of my parents and it is not an easy time.

How lovely to choose such a meaningful dress for your mum - we chose the dress our mum had worn to my younger brother's wedding for a similar reason, it held good memories for us and for her.

Hugs to you, your sister and your boys,

Dear LL I am so sorry that you are having to go through this again so soon. The dress that you have selected sounds so beautiful and the shoes too.

It must be even more grim for you having to see things arranged that would not have been what your mother wanted for herself. I hate "the sinner" part of services even as part of more gentle religions iyswim, how can a lovely natured person, or in my family's case a beautiful 3 week old child have sinned:eek::eek: A lesson for us all, whatever age, I think to record our wishes in writing in readiness for such events.

Thinking of you and your sister.
