Ionafan, things sound terrible for your friend. Remember to look after yourself too.

Well, a bit like YSL, I've a cold that won't go, so since doing the essentials, I've just sat on the sofa, snoozing, reading the paper and generally feeling sorry for myself. Waiting for the family to arrive now. Am hoping to get a quiet day with DH tomorrow.

  • Happy Birthday Piggers!

Ploughing my way through washing and ironing. DS left a load by the machine, which I duly shoved in and put through a 40 degree quick wash. Sadly his new, worn once, Jack Wills jumper was in the pile. It is ruined.

I cooked 24 chipolatas round the turkey yesterday. The idea being there would be plenty left to add to sarnies today. THERE ARE NONE LEFT!!!! How on earth did that happen.

Hope all the poorlies are feeling better...

CY sorry to hear about the jumper.

Ionafan wishing your friend some healing vibes, reaction to her first chemo? I hope they can treat the side effects.

I've fed the birds, washed up, put DW on, one load of washing through and tidied up a bit. Can't be bothered to leave the house.

  • For once, DS didn't spot a torrent of abuse - he admitted that he should've checked. I admitted I should probably have too.

DD1 has gone to her b/f's. DD2 is back from hers. Feel like I should install a revolving door.

We finished the turkey tonight. I'm quite sad really. I shall have to think about what to feed the hordes tomorrow.

    Evening all,

Hope you've had a nice day.

Narc0 Sorry your hubby didn't make it home today. What a disappointment. :(

A reasonable amount of flying done in my house today. Vacuumed throughout. Steam cleaned throughout, cooked the men a full English breakfast but refused to cook for tea and since i couldnt prise '5th of 5' out of his room i chucked the vacuum in and told him to do it himself.

Pity you didn't cook that pork for tea' Hubby moaned. "Well if you'd said and gave me a hand i would have cooked it" i told him. Personally i couldn't face a cooked dinner tonight so a cold buffet it was.

    I need my bed.

    Have a good evening all.

Pigpen happy birthday. I hope some of your horde spoilt you.
Ionafan best hugs for your friend.

Thanks to all for you thoughts. Xmas meals in hospital seem to be ....interesting.....with little consideration for what people can actually eat depending on their condition or what they 'ordered' the day before. Today fish and chips turned up, yes OH is on solid food but not quite that solid! He described Xmas eve's tuna sandwich supper as "white plastic bread that had been in the presence of a butter dish with the lid removed and waved in the vicinity, with a teaspoon of tuna dropped from a great height". I took him in a bake-at-home baguette with adequate butter and nice Xmas ham today, and a home made mince pie. Still the staff are lovely so no complaints really. And his blood count that they were waiting to be below 15 is now 14, yay, long may it last. So if the consultants are back on Monday and it is still below 15, fingers crossed.

At least without lots of festivities yesterday we didn't make the place too messy. Just back from the hospital and it's raining big cold splatty drops. Was -1 this morning but 4 at the moment.
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.

Narco I think the quality of food in hospitals is a national disgrace, when nutrients are so vital to good health and recovery. The food my friend got was dire, then she was moved to a different part of the hospital and the food was mush better, it was different caterers in wht I think is an independantly run unit.

Dinner cooked and cleaned up after.

    Ironing done.

    Kittens on my lap.

    :bdaycake:Happy Birthday Pigpen :bdaycake:

I've spent the day doing laundry, slowly so the heat from the TD kept the livingroom & kitchen a bit warmer. I've completed DD's 3d puzzle of the Empire State Building (night version) which she got for Christmas. She was getting very very frustrated with it, so I promised I'd finish it while she was away before she threw it and undid all that she'd achieved. Turns out there's a manufacturing error and 2 or 3 of the pieces are numbered wrong in the last 3 rows. Only took me half an hour of cursing while trying to hold it together to realise this. Don't worry Mum if you're reading this, her other 3D puzzles caused more trouble in previous years lol It looks awesome now its done with the light shining through it :D

Then this afternoon I've tided up my desk drawers (I had a shove things in there session before family came around so we had somewhere to put stuff), then I've been putting stuff in my new diary. I do so much then have to stop as I start getting dates mixed up :o I have a year to view in the front cover for 2015 and one in the back for 2016 so I've been putting in school dates for 2015-16 as I have them already as well. Then its 2 days to a page and at the end of the week is a notes section (so each week starts on a fresh page), so I'm writing in that bit whats coming up the following week so if I need to buy birthday cards or plan for DD being home I can. I went through with birthdays/anniversaries, now I'm working through with school/work dates. I'm up to June :(

I've decided that tomorrow I'm taking the main tree down. I have a delivery coming on Monday and its right where the stuff gets put. :rotfl: I'm going to purge my decorations while I'm at it. There's a lot which I haven't used for a while now, so I'm going to get rid ;)

Off to try and finish my diary off.
Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.
Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!

    Evening all.

White stuff here, and it's settled. The kiddies saw it as we are not long home from my aunts. So DS is expecting to build a snowman in the morning :rotfl: if it's not all washed away.

Upstairs is looking ok but we still have some toys to home and the LR is a disgrace, so that is where I start in the morning. The rug looks like someone has walked crisps into every inch of it. There is lego all around and toy tiaras and hair bobbles on every surface.

Think my dad may be heading over tomorrow. I'm going to have a fast day. Haven't eaten loads today but I had a horrible stitch in my side this evening. My tummy deserves a day off!

Happy birthday pigpen hope your family day has gone well. X

Sorry your friend is really going through the mill, ionafan. X
