Thanks a million for my secret santa pressie. There was a lovely scarf and some warm socks (always suffered from cold feet), some choccies, very useful notebook, a weekly notebook (perfect for my meal planning), a little plaque and a key ring. Such a lot I felt quite spoilt


I'm very pleased that the person who I sent to has posted that they like their present


Have managed to keep the place quite clean and tidy. Did usually dailies and two lots of washing/drying/put away. Bed and all linen changed.


It's very cold here but still dry. We have a bit of shopping to do the morrow and then off to DSD's for dinner with her family.

Morning All

Hope everyone has been spoilt over Christmas. Narco - hope DH is home soon. My cousin's fiancee has been in hospital over Christmas but we hope she's going to be out soon. We had snow last night so I'm not sure how the roads are going to be later for going over to my M&Ds for another party.

I haven't done much over the last couple of days between visiting family as I've been napping between visits trying to catch up on some sleep.

Not sure what today will bring as it depends on the weather but the plan is for me to go and help mum prepare for the party tonight (about 30-40 people) and then everyone else to come to me. All the presents need moving upstairs at some point too.

Had a quiet few days and now ready to get on and packed for trip to DS for New Year. Need to do some shopping first and fill the car.


Hope those with deep snow are OK.


Any news from S. Derbyshire or Herts re current weather status would be appreciated please. We don't often get snow settling here!

Like Nicki I want to try and sort out some paperwork and put some dates into my diary today. I have a feeling the kids may also want to go to the shops but I am very snuffly so not really feeling up to it.

We were supposed to be at a party last night. Long story but DS had a meltdown about us going out. OH got cross with him, I got cross with OH (DS has anxiety so its not his fault) then OH accused me of being boring and not wanting to go out anyway. Not a happy household.

Its all sorted out now but OH just doesnt seem himself lately. I know he has been under the weather but even the kids keep saying how grumpy he is. I think now is the wrong time to tackle this and I dont even know the right way to approach it anyway. If I ask him he will just say he is fine.

Hope LW is OK. Hope the birthday went well Pigpen. Have a good Saturday everyone.

Morning all

No snow here (JTTOU it is wet and windy, not sure if you come down A1, M25 blocked atm but should be clear once you get to that bit).

Kittens have gone mad for an hour so are now asleep.

Going to make DH a cuppa and then have a shower. I was going to go to the sales but cba. SIL and neice coming today so need to prep some food, somebody needs to hoover and I'll give the bathrooms a quick clean.

YL I could have written your post sweetie. Mine has been grumpy and distant for a good 6 months. My kids say the same. I asked him what was wrong and apart from fed up about something at work nothing else was mentioned apart from it is boring where we live. He has no friends outside of work, does no sport, has no hobbies - I'm not surprised he is bored! I have realised I cannot fix everybodies problems. We don't invite people round anymore because he says all my friend's husbands are boring - right and you're not! Mine took it out on the boys the other day who were using his screen to connect the old PS2 to and playing a game from ten years ago. It is very difficult to keep harmony. Sending you a big hug because I really do understand x

Morning all. Had a lovely evening with the family watching a rubbish film but we laughed anyway. Lots more food so going to try to have a normal meal this evening.

I'm just finishing my breakfast, DH has popped into work for a couple of hours (hope it doesn't extend to all day) so I'm going to wash up, put the hoover round downstairs and walk the dogs. Further than that, I don't know what I'm going to do.

Thank you all for birthday wishes.. I was utterly stressed yesterday.. I told my mother to be here for 2pm so we could do presents because the girls are at KH's until Monday and he was picking them up at 6.. she turned up at... 5:30!!!!!! I was seriously miffed.. I had run about like a loony all day wrapping the last gifts, sorting the 3 she hadn't bothered buying, clearing/cleaning the kitchen, sorting food for 23.. no mean feat believe me!!

Thankfully I'd had the good sense to cook gammon the day before so it just had to be sliced and doing that when it is cold is so much easier!! Loads left for the offspring over the weekend while we are at the outlaws.. Yes, I have to go there today until Monday, I've not even had time to pack anything so goodness knows what we will all wear!

Dot is being silly and VERY loud this morning and Pixie is still asleep in my bed. I need to g strip Squeaks bed, apparently she took off her bedtime nappy and has wet her bed.. NOT impressed! I've tried really hard to catch up on laundry and I have to do this load today, I didn't want wet washing everywhere to come back to. My cheeky cow of a mother yesterday 'why have you got towels everywhere? Why did you not just put them in the dryer?' .. 'a: Mother dearest, I do not dry towels in the dryer it takes forever and costs a pile of money and not that anyone will have noticed but we are rather skint!! b: What's it to do with you?! c: it was hang towels on the doors or my knickers.. which would you all prefer looking at?' ... NOT impressed.. she has a 'hoarder house' no room (literally) to talk!


Another birthday I've not gone out...

Everyone goes out on my birthday except me it would appear, I spend the evening cleaning up the devastation called my house!
