  • Morning all
Hugs to all as it really reads as if they are needed everywhere
Going for a quick s&s everywher as mum, sister and her kids are over for lunch. Everyone was here Christmas day, yesterday back again but in stages so smaller groups but house was never empty. Which is how I like it. Dd2 was over with her fella and his little ones yesterday as they were at their mums Christmas day we got little boy a footie table it was so funny watching him unwrap it he kept saying thank you thank you as he was peeling the paper off, and when it was all revealed he turned round with the biggest smile and said oh thank like a million. Little girl was thrilled with banana grams and declared oh it will help me with my spelling practice- she was being serious, I've never known a child so happy when given pencil and paper!
    Off to swish something

Morning all, belated birthday wishes PigPen xx

Dusty and Yorkshire lass I too know exactly how you feel about your OHs!! Mine had depression
It seems like most of the time :(

I try to carry on regardless but some days it's not easy

Yesterday I managed quite a lot of flying!
    1. 6 loads washed and dried (which will now sit around for a week until OH feels up to ironing it = has run out of clothes)
2a. Hoovered downstairs as friend coming round
2b. Chatted to friend and exchanged pressies - she had cross stitched me a really lovely saying very touched
    3. Tidy and reassemble spare room after DD came to stay
    4. Picked up DD from work and took her home
    5. Tidied and cleaned kitchen including moving appliances and mopping floor (the top of the washing machine was :eek::eek::eek:)
    6. Played board game with OH :D
    7. Decluttered a bottle of wine :D:D:D

    today I will
    1. Put away the drying that doesn't need ironing
    2. Clean bathroom
    3. Hoover upstairs

Hope everyone has a good day
    xx

  • hi, just found this thread, what a god send, so inspired by you all, and seems as though today's plans have been cancelled due to snow, boys are going to go sledging and i'm going to start today, right now. But before I do, I have a very old white enamel bath, that I struggle to get to look clean, any ideas?
Loving life to the full, just need purse full too :)

  • Thanks for sharing about your OH's. It has crossed my mind whether he is suffering with mild depression or whether he has something physically wrong with him and he is keeping it from me.

Its sad to hear the kids saying "will you ask Dad such and such because I dont want to get my head bitten off". Will wait until he has got rid of his cold and then we need a proper chat I think. He has basically sat and watched telly all Christmas and ignored the rest of us which is so unlike him.

Hi and welcome rubies. Erm no, cant help you with your bath but I bet someone else on here knows!

    Welcome rubies

Kittens are starting to get on the older cats nerves. One was making friends but has changed his mind.

Downstairs hoovered. Gammon soaking - forgot to do that but a couple of hours will have to do. Going to bake a cake (GF because I want to!) and clean bathroom.

MSG hugs for you too, I'm thinking it is depression with mine.

Well Christmas Day was me, OH and Tigger. A really lovely day, especially as it is a time of memories for us. Tigger thinks that removing the wrapping paper and heaping it all around him is just the best thing ever. I'd put a photo in but I haven't worked out how to do it from my 'phone yet. Mr B was particularly inspired with his present buying this year so I am very happy.

Yesterday was the in-laws which was lovely. I am disappointed with my FIL though who had bought Step MIL a kettle, mixer, saucepan and a year's supply of water filters. This for someone who cooks to eat. I bunged in an extra present at the last minute - her grand-daughter is getting married in Australia next year and she's struggling to find an outfit so I've presented her with a shopping trip for the girls to a place of her choice - Meadowhell, Hull, Nottingham or even London. I think she liked it.

Anyway. This isn't getting the basics done so I'd better go flutter.

Our plans for today have changed due to the snow. Bin collection has also been cancelled :(
  • Thanks Dusty for the info - depending on weather we may head down A5 from Derbyshire! Not until tomorrow though.

Hugs to YL, and Dusty - all I'll say is - me too!!

Just about to take down the decs as cannot face doing them in a rush on the last day.

    Hi rubies and welcome.

Day at home today. Kiddies have played out. DD doesn't remember snow as it's 2yrs since we had any. I put her in a snow suit and boots and she just rolled around on the lawn :rotfl: I did have to tell her not to eat it though!

Ground floor all vacced and the boxes of food and drink have been sorted. Kitchen cleaned except for mopping. More lego built. I could really use a nap, although it was nice to be in my own bed again last night. And DD slept till nearly 8 although DS was up at 7.

WM has been on once and now on its second run.

This afternoon I will grab some "stuff" from the conservatory and rehome those. Is it really bad to put money in a card for a kiddies birthday party tomorrow? They get so much stuff at Christmas I think I'd be happy if DS was given a fiver instead.

Bossy, money in the card will be fine.

Lazy day here, reading a book DD got me for Xmas. On here as had a FB message from MIL, bit concerned that she says she can't get warm, have told her to turn the heating up but I know she won't. So stubborn and yet we will pay the bill if need be.
