  • No internet for most of today as hubby decided to relocate wireless router, which meant I got more done than planned. So lounge and dining room have been gutted and almost completed kitchen. Working tonight so just having a bit of me time before tea and work. Need to tackle playroom and bathroom tomorrow and if time and inclination, throw rubbish from conservatory :)
Loving life to the full, just need purse full too :)

Very impressed by all the flying being done, well done!

After a small top up shop, I took all the meat off the turkey, and made stock.

This afternoon, I have mainly been hibernating on the sofa, and have watched How to Train Your Dragon, while DS1, 2 and DD play Monopoly. The Olympic Games version today, just for a change.

Dusty, YorkshireLass and MrsGnomey I have also had experience with the grumpy OH over quite a few years. I also thought depression, but also seemed like a 'mid life crisis/male menopause' type thing. Refused to go to Dr, and I ended up pretty much ignoring it. DD just has a go at him now when he does it, and he responds far better to her.

Today I have sliced up all the leftover meat for freezing. Then I came back to bed as suddenly felt carp. I am really aching but have slept this afternoon .

No snow here. It feels odd for others to have it and not us at 1 200 ft above sea level.

For those with hubbies with depression huge hugs from me. Mine has been depressed for 24 years! We are now able to manage our lives around it. It took a long time to get him stable. The SAD lamp is a Godsend and we now have a holiday in the sun in November which definitely helps. I also have DS2 here lying in a dark room all day. He is clinically depressed too. If you want to PM me I am happy to offer a listening ear.

Hi all, sorry been awol the last 2 days; it takes a lot of time and energy persuading Ronnie that he'd like to eat something. He has, thankfully, had a reasonable helping this evening, and is now vegging on the sofa.

My netbook's playing silly baa-lambs, too; I've had it several years, and it's seen a lot of use, so it may be time to think about replacing it. I want to hold fire for now though, as I don't want Windows 8 if I can possibly avoid it.

(((HUGS))) for all dealing with loved ones suffering depression; it's a beastly affliction - I should know, I was diagnosed with clinical depression in 1972, been on meds of one sort or another for it ever since! I find that knowing it's just another flippin' illness helps; the overwhelming feelings would be hard if not impossible to cope with because they'd be too frightening if I didn't have an explanation for them. I do hope the gentlemen concerned will feel inclined to see the GP - though I know getting men to a GP is a feat in itself!

We're gradually getting back into a reasonable Flying state of mind here - Mr LW has done a few of the regular weekend tasks, and we braved the hordes in Central MK to do the F&V run this morning.

Fingers crossed that the snow stays away; it causes me real problems, as I can't use the mobility buggy in snowy conditions; and if I can't use the buggy, I can't do woofer walkies.

I really want to get all the [STRIKE]carp[/STRIKE] tasteful decorations down and stashed away so that I can dust properly, but Mr LW wants us to leave them for Hogmanay.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

went to Aldi and did a small shop £34.75/£50 food budget for the week spent, need some cat litter but popped into Co-op on the way back and they didn't have the one I like so it'll have to wait. It's expensive Bob Martin crystals stuff but it works really well and lasts ages (only have 1 decrepit old lady cat who does still like to go out)

OH says he feels 'strange' today, that's not unusual!!!!

Have just enjoyed some whoopsied steak and ale buffet pipes with bread and butter and baked beans, bored with trying to find something that OH likes/fancies so buying food for me and he can take it or leave it! LOL Some days I feel more tolerant than others

Off to walk on the treadmill in a moment

    Boo!

As I have a moment or two to spare,, I thought I'd pop in and wish you all (I hope someone remembers me!) the compliments of the season as it were. I hope you all had a good Christmas and that you'll have an even better new year xx

Life goes on in the Soappie household. It's been a difficult year work wise (too much of it and not enough hours in the day in which to do it!) but the kids are fine as are the animals. I hope all yours are too (kids and animals!)

And to those with husbands being distant, I send my hugs - wait until the spring and then talk about it, don't, just don't, do it over Christmas and New Year !!!

Hugs to all - and happy birthday to Pigpen for yesterday xx

I too have depression and have been on meds for over 10 years - it took me a long time to realise something was wrong and then to accept I have it but, as LW says, knowing it's an illness helps. Unfortunately, it has lost me most of my 'friends' so I am a bit of a loner IRL - thankfully, I have you lot to keep me [STRIKE]sane [/STRIKE]company :D:p :T

If anyone wants to chat / ask questions, I'm happy to try and help xx

soappie!:hello::j:j:j:j. How lovely to see you! Very happy to hear that there is lots of work, and all of you are well. I have been back flying for a few months now, and have so enjoyed being back here, and spending time with such a supportive and friendly group.

DS1, 2 and DD now playing Payday, which DD prefers - she's won a couple of games now!

Just had Delia's Turkey, Leek and Cheese Flan, delicious - and even my three determined quiche haters tucked in and enjoyed it.;)

  • Hi all, interesting to hear about others suffering with depression. I suffered badly with anxiety a few years back and never 100% got over it. Although I have never been depressed I know what its like to struggle with your feelings and now I have poor DS to look after with his emotional problems.

I feel rotten, this cold has completely floored me. Off to bed soon I think.

Oh and no snow here, just rain. I have washing over the airer in front of the woodburner to try to stop it piling up.
