It helps if you bring washing in when you've washed it because the forecast was dry weather on Christmas Eve, and the morning of Christmas Day but rain on Boxing Day. Still, in the cold weather the forgotten load under the sundeck got drenched and redried all by itself. The white superking sheet is looking a bit iffy where it was dripped on under some plant pots though. Soaking in biological now.

Another dozen mince pies, more ginger Twinks hobnobs, an onion quichey thing and a pizza will all be going in the oven in a bit. The mince was homemade by some of OH's friends and gifted to him in 2007 but it still smelt boozy when I opened it yesterday so it's probably okay.
    Better is good enough.
  • It's probably matured nicely now Honey Bear. Today has been a really quiet one. I have flung some washing through the machine, pootled on t'internet and read my book. Utter bliss.
    :jFlylady and proud of it:j
  • Been busy here, even got the kids to help. :D

    Ozzy's room been cleaned
All clean washing folded (at least 3 weeks worth :o )
Utility tidied a bit but bins full so nowhere to put rubbish
    Livingroom been cleared
Bathroom cupboards been sorted and all new smelly stuff away

    Still to do
    Dust front hall
    Hoover front hall
Clear any items that's not suppose to be there
    Put all clean washing away
Kids bathed and OH can bath DS3
    Sticks in for fire
    Our bedding changed
    Dw emptied and reloaded
    More washing
    Hoover right through
    Quick tidy in kitchen

Think that will be enough for tonight..:rotfl:

How lovely to see Soappie popping in - please do it more often; and Vanilla it's good to have you back with us, too.

Mr LW has finally eaten the nasty, untidy, very elderly Frog that was his bedside cabinet. One tacky CD for the CS box; three pairs of ancient specs to go to the opticians for recycling; one used-up notebook recycled; some miscellaneous gibble in the bin; all the little bits (spare bookmark, nail file, clippers, pen, pencil, his dad's penknife, couple of keyrings he doesn't want to part with, etc) put into a plastic tray the same as I use for my similar stuff (an old takeaway tray from when an acquaintance of Mr LW's invited himself over here - ooh, must be 10 years ago now - and I refused to cook cos I can't stand the bloke); 7 CD's given to Mr LW by a chap at the pub we used to go to handed to me for identifying, labeling and putting into decent boxes - I think they're stuff the chap got off Sp0tify or some such place. Result!! :T

I thought my cough had cleared but I have been out in the cold and it has reappeared.

    Today I have

cleaned 2 cat litter trays and one bunny
    stripped DS's bed
persuaded DD to strip and remake hers
    WM and TD
Sorted out my new kettle; boxed up the slightly leaky old one (in case a 'student' needs one in the near furutre)

    Helo Soappie and Vanilla

    Bedroom all tidied and dusted.

Pie made for dinner, going to get somebody to cook it now as I don't feel well, runny nose, earache and aching, been lucky so far this winter so can't complain.
The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair
  • Hope you feel better soon Dusty and that someone cooks that pie for you.

Happy with today's performance, totally gutted play room, all Christmas presents now in their new home, cleaned bathroom (still can't get bath to look clean though :( ). Didn't manage to do any ironing, but not worried as will get done tomorrow morning, and no uniforms to be do, so no rush yay.

Boys even tidied both their rooms, so that was a pleasant surprise :)
Loving life to the full, just need purse full too :)

So today is nearly over and what have I done?
    1. Cook roast pork for in-laws
    2. Washed up after roast dinner
    3. Watched an on-line training video or two!
    4. Walked for 30 mins on treadmill and listened to the end of Lynda Bellingham's latest book (and shed a tear or two, so sad)
    5. Had a nap for an hour
    6. Picked DD up from work and run her home as she'd ended up doing another 10 hr shift as the agency cover person didn't arrive and most of the rest of the staff are off sick
    7. Cooked OH a pie (when he's ill he won't eat and the last few days have been a nightmare in that respect, BUT he has eaten today so hopefully is on the up)
    8. Arranged with my dad to collect my Grandma tomorrow and take her home (she's been at his house for Christmas) so that'll be about 5hrs driving tomorrow there and back
Oh and eaten christmas cookies I didn't even like or want! Why do I do it to myself????
    In a moment I will
go and prepare slow cooker meal for tomorrow so I can come home to a nice beef casserole

So hugs and spoons all round:beer::beer:
Go hopefully into each new day, enjoy something from every day no matter how small, you never know when it will be your last
  • LW your post made me smile. OHs bedside cabinet is a bit of a sore spot with us. I bought him a nice little wicker basket, with lid, for his bedside cabinet so that he could use it for all his bits and pieces. It was full in no time and the top is still littered with stuff.

My cold is getting better but my sinuses really hurt. In fact I feel a bit sorry for myself but have been fed and watered at the parents so havent needed to do much at home. Going to finish sorting my finance spreadsheets and think about the January budget.

Back to work tomorrow sadly, its gone far too quickly.

Hope all those feeling poorly recover soon.

We've had a lovely lazy day. I was up first (no change there) and did a load of washing, the washing up, and cleaned the bathroom.

After coffee, I managed an hour tidying mainly in the front garden, until my fairly ancient secateurs fell apart. I have lots of garden vouchers, so will treat myself to a new pair this week.

For lunch I made Delia's Creamed Turkey en Croute, known in this family as Turkey cushion, everyone's favourite post Christmas meal.

I went for a quick walk, while the sun was still shining, and then we watched a sci fi film DS2 had for Christmas.

Now nicely relaxed, and ready to fly again tomorrow!
