January Grocery Challenge 2015

Morning.
I have been to Aldi and Morrisons today. I am hoping I have got everything I need for the week, well until Wednesday which is my usual shopping day. So I am reporting a £69.06 spend. That also included a few bits that weren't on the list a couple that the husband threw in and a couple that the kids moaned for....Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,

Right, just back from Aldi having spent nearly £90. We need to gain control of our grocery shopping! Have signed up for this challenge before and not seen it through - but this month will be different as we absolutely must change our ways.
Hoping the shop today will see us through for a while! Have asked OH to keep receipts of anything he buys grocery wise, and also suggested that we don't pop to the shops and pick up bits here and there in addition to today's big shop...
Please can I be signed up for £150.- [STRIKE]Credit Card: £2,989 / £2,989[/STRIKE]
- Bank Loan: £12,000 / £14,000

NSD again for us today. If we venture out it will be for a visit to feed the ducks at our local pond which is a 2 minute walk away. I have an urge to buy something today so it'll be safer so stay well clear of the shops as there's nothing I actually need!MFW

A spend of £1 today for a loaf of bread, which should (fingers crossed) last a couple of days.
I`ve already done my mealplan for the week and will hopefully only get fresh fruit/veg/bread and milk, as I should have all other ingredients in.MFW#46 2015 Target £2400/£1950

I'm not sure if anyone else uses it but Bertolli is on offer at Sainsburys for 95p per 500g tub.
We go through 1kg per week, which at full price would be £14.80 for 4 weeks. Buying 8 smaller ones on offer will only cost me £7.60 so a good saving.
I was going to nip out today but as the offer is on until 20th January I can leave it until Wednesday and therefore include that in next weeks grocery spend :TUnless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,

Annual 2015
Bobarella £2400
NewShadow £1500
redmel1621 £5200
russetred £3300
Please can you add me in again for an annual target of £3600 - I managed with a big blow-out Christmas and hosted a New Year dinner for friends with just a 0.5% overspend (£18.01) for 2014 and think it is realistic to try for the same again.
Good luck everyone

I do all groceries online. Used to use a but got fed up, if I got more than one shop in a week my bank would put a fraud alert on, cancel the order and a wouldn't even bother to tell me! I tried s about 6 months ago as I had a voucher and the odd time it's happened with them they are great, they ring me and sort it in time for normal delivery. I always think they are all the same with price guarantee but just realised s is in store only for that!!
So would like to find the true cheapest overall based on my shopping but I suspect it's not that simple!!
LegalBlonde I might have misunderstood but if you put all your regular shopping items into a basket on mysupermarket, you will see the price comparisons with other stores as you go. I usually opt for printing the option for 2 supermarkets to get the balance of some things the same price or on offer at my favourite, and the offer things at the other. If it is all heavy I then do it online and try for a free delivery slot.
I have also adopted the pattern of only buying store-cupboard things when they are on offer (and then enough for a few months to cover until next time), so my weekly shop is purely the fresh items to fulfil my meal-plan and the occasional store-cupboard thing I have run out of.
I did this by moving to an annual budget and dividing by 13 - so 12 months plus a store-cupboard fund. I used to plan for the next Suffolk siege but I have relaxed in the three years I have been doing this challenge. This way I still buy my favourite products, where they matter to me (washing gloop, for example)
I hope this helps
