First spend of my new grocery challenge after achieving a personal best for Nsd's. I managed 5 in a row. £9 spent today in sainsburys. Ran out ot nescafe , bread and milk. Also bought bananas and mushrooms. Will need to stock up on pack up bits for the month. Absolutely no main dinner items will be bought. The freezer is heaving. £141.00 left out of £150.00 budget. Good luck everyone.March 2014 Grocery challenge £250.000

Hey all,
A repeat visitor here, who keeps falling off the MSE wagon... Im back again however sticking myself in for £300 please for me and DS (Yes I know this is excessive but at the moment this would be a saving!!)
Im including all supermarket spends in this, unless its an item of clothing etc which is desperately needed, otherwise im too guilty of putting treats in the trolley!
Ive ordered an online shop (to keep me out of the store!) and have some veggies to be used up so chucking a pot of soup on... Im hoping to carry on this time!!!

So did first main shop of the challenge toady at A1di. Was absolutely manic - just like Christmas week again, I expected it to be a ghost town to be honest!
Tried my best to stay on track and resisted a beef joint that looked lush, so pat on the back thereJust out of interest do A1di YS? The joints (the dear ones) were all dated till tomorrow and I wondered if they ever reduced them? So stuck my guns and the only frivolity was a bottle of wine for Sunday night as a back to work softener. Spent £44.06 and I hope that may see us through next week - may do a £25 T£sco top up (I have a delivery saver that I won't be renewing) ina day or two but still keeps me on track

Hi everyone £6.63 spend for me in Tesco today getting milk/potatoes/veg. I'm hoping that as I'm starting with a full freezer I will be as low as possible as would like about £250 spend on a normal month starting from basics.
Problem this month will be that myself and my son are going to start WEight Watchers on Wednesday so I will have to be more creative with the food we eat, although I'm also doing Dry January so that should save some on alcohol spends!January grocery challenge £0/£300

Count me in for my first challenge. I'll aim for £200 or less this month. I have no idea what we spend a month on food but don't think it is a lot (I cook from scratch a lot & shop in aldi when I can, although I'm a bit fussy about buying quality meat). My total will also include toiletries & nappies for our toddler. We are moving soon so I am making an effort to use up what I can. Spent £14 in aldi this morning.Mortgage as of Feb 2015 - £153000 (30 years left on term). Aiming to be morgage free in 20 years or less.0

£2.88 spent today on bread and tomatoes. Haven’t needed to do a big shop since the 23rd (10 days) and hope to hold out until the 8th if possible.
Dry but windy day here all day and managed to dry some tea towels on the line, have also taken down the decorations and joined the de-cluttering thread 20 items gone so farplus the last of the chocolates were [STRIKE]binned [/STRIKE] eaten
and DH says he will go to the tip in the week to take a few other bits and bobs. He hates going so seeing is believing but you never know.
Tea was chicken with stir fried onion, mushrooms that needed using and pineapple served with rice. One chicken breast did the two of us as they are quite large. :money:
sorry the photo is not very good.MARCH £62.38/2500 -
On the soup theme, we,ve just had massive bowls of scotch broth made with LO Lamb from NYD - it was lush - 2 x giant portions in freezer for work lunches.
I bough 2 x legs of lamb in Mr S before xmas HP so just under £10 ea, had a fiver in nectar points, so 2 legs cost £7.50 ea.
One leg has made 15 meals, so 50p per meal for main component - roast, sheperds pie and soup - the veg to go with it all was YS.
Most if you of heard of Rubber Chicken. Maybe this is 'spring' lambNote to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!
£300/£1300
